Architecture of Tourism and Its Effect (IRAN)

This document discusses the relationship between architecture and tourism in Iran. It notes that contemporary architecture can create images in tourists' minds that are later converted to urban brands, promoting tourism. Combining symbolic monuments and modern buildings worldwide has led to promising urban development in many cities. The study examines the impact of residential leisure complexes on Iran's tourism industry using data from 1978 to 2007, finding they have had a positive and significant effect. Infrastructure development is important, with tourism accounting for over 10% of global GDP. Architectural attractions can distinguish Iran's tourism industry, but more investment is needed to strengthen infrastructure, especially in religious cities, to better attract foreign tourists and their spending.
