Executive Order No. 08-s-2023 (BHERT)

The Punong Barangay of Barangay Ampayon, Butuan City issued Executive Order No. 08 to reconstitute the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) in accordance with national guidelines. EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 08


Series of 2023

AN ORDER RECONSTITUTING THE BARANGAY HEALTH EMERGENCY


RESPONSE TEAMS (BHERT)

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section of the Local Government Code, local government units are
charged with the promotion of health and safety within their respective territorial jurisdictions;

WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 2003-95 enjoins the creation of Barangay Health Emergency
Response Teams (BHERT) in all barangays nationwide;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, KIM LOUISE P. ACALAYEN, Punong Barangay, by virtue of


the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. REORGANIZATION OF THE BARANGAY HEALTH EMERGENCY


RESPONSE TEAMS (BHERT). The Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams of Barangay
Ampayon, Butuan City, is hereby re-organized.

SECTION 2. COMPOSITION. The BHERT, herein referred to as the team, shall be


composed of the following:

Head - Executive Officer, Tanod (appointed by the Punong Barangay)


Members - Tanod member
- Two (2) barangay health workers, one of whom is preferably a
midwife or a nurse

SECTION 3. FUNCTIONS. The team shall have the following functions:

1. Conduct visits in the home of every person arriving from Severe Acute Respiratory
Syndrome (SARS) - affected countries,
2. Immediately list down the person(s), the arriving person came in contact with prior to
his arrival in his residence,
3. Take daily temperature of the arriving person and observe any other signs of SARS
like cough, difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath,
4. Provide protective gadgets to the SARS case, including the members of the
household, immediately isolate,
5. Monitor SARS case, and
6. Report to the Punong Barangay on measures or action taken per arrival.

SECTION 4. REPEALING CLAUSE. All prior orders or issuances inconsistent with this
Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

SECTION 5. EFFECTIVITY. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
