Settings for Bank Statement Monitor

Use

In this IMG activity you make the required settings for the house bank accounts that you want to view using the
bank statement monitor.

Activities

1. Choose New Entries.


2. To ensure the system selects and displays the relevant account in the monitor, enter the company
code, house bank, and house bank account.
3. Activate the status you wish to use to define the account and to display the account in the monitor:

o Processing status
o Difference status

o Serial number status

o Reconciliation status

4. In the Interval and Interval Unit fields, define the time period in which you want to receive a bank
statement for this account. (This setting is taken into account when determining the processing status.)
5. Specify where the account should be displayed in the bank statement monitor.
6. When determining the difference status, if you want to define a tolerance between the bank
statement balance and the internal general ledger account balance, then enter a specific difference
amount.
Note: The account currency is determined automatically from the account data.
7. Save your entries.

Example

You want to display the GIRO account at the top of the monitor for the house bank DB in company code 0001.
You also want to display the account status. You wish to receive a new bank statement daily. The bank
statement balance and the internal balance must be the same.

Enter the following data:

 Company code: 0001

 House bank : DB

 House bank account: GIRO

 Select all bank statuses.

 Interval: 1

 Interval unit: calendar days

 Define a factory calendar

 Position: 001

Settings required for monitoring end-of-day bank statements.

You can monitor end-of-day bank statements using either of the following applications:

 The Bank Statement Monitor - End of Day app


 The Bank Statement Monitor SAP GUI program (transaction FTE_BSM)

To monitor the end-of-day bank statements using the above applications, make sure you have defined the
required settings below.

General Settings
To monitor end-of-day bank statements, you must define the required settings in the Bank
Statement Data section of the Manage Bank Accounts app.

If you have defined settings in the Customizing activity Settings for Bank Statement
Monitor (transaction FTE_BSM_CUST), you must migrate existing settings to the Manage
Bank Accounts app using the migration program Migrate Settings for Bank Statement
Monitor (transaction FCLM_BSM_MIGRATION).

Settings for the Bank Statement Monitor - End of


Day app
To monitor a bank account in the Bank Statement Monitor - End of Day app, make sure the
following settings have been made:

 Set the Processing Status indicator.

This indicator determines whether the bank statements of a bank account are monitored
in the Bank Statement Monitor - End of Day app.

 Make sure there is at least one valid house bank account defined on the House Bank
Account Connectivity tab of the Manage Bank Accounts app.
 Implement SAP Note 2964638 .

In addition, the following settings are relevant:


 Interval and Interval Unit: You can specify how often the bank statements for a bank
account are imported to your system.
 Factory Calendar ID: You can specify a calendar so that the Bank Statement
Monitor ignores the import status of bank statements on non-working days.

Settings for the Bank Statement Monitor SAP GUI


Program
The following settings are relevant to the transaction FTE_BSM:

 To monitor a bank account in this program, make sure that at least one of the following
indicators have been set:
 Processing Status
 Difference Status
 Serial Number Status
 Reconciliation Status
 Define the following settings as needed:
 Processing Status: This indicator determines whether this status appears in
the Bank Statement Monitor..

The processing status indicates whether the bank statement has been processed
correctly.

 Difference Status: This indicator determines whether this status appears in


the Bank Statement Monitor.

The difference status indicates whether there is a difference between the internal
G/L account balance and the bank statement balance.

 Difference Amount: You specify a tolerance amount for the difference status.
 Serial Number Status: This indicator determines whether this status appears in
the Bank Statement Monitor.

The serial number status indicates whether the sequence of the last five bank
statements is complete.

 Reconciliation Status: This indicator determines whether this status appears in


the Bank Statement Monitor.
The reconciliation status indicates whether there are open items in the internal
account.

 Display Item

It determines the position at which the bank statement for this account is
displayed in the Bank Statement Monitor.

 Interval and Interval Unit: You can specify how often the bank statements for a
bank account are imported into your system.
 Factory Calendar ID: You can specify a calendar so that the Bank Statement
Monitor ignores the import status of bank statements on non-working days.
