3.. What was the secret mission of Rizal? Discuss it.
From what I’ve read, there are a lot or purpose in Rizal's European tour. First, it was
intended to enable him to complete his studies and broaden his knowledge to use it for greater
good. Through this journey, he aimed to expand his understanding of political matters by
immersing himself in the workings of European governments. Additionally, Rizal sought to
establish connections and friendships with renowned academics and scholars. These travels and
experiences in Europe are very crucial to help him achieve his mission, which was to advocate
for reform and justice in the Philippines. In this time, the Philippine country was then under
Spanish colonial rule. Rizal's exposure to European societies and his interactions with
intellectuals and leaders provided him with valuable insights into governance, politics, and
societal issues. Thus, he wants to use the knowledge to his beloved fellow Filipinos to promote
a strong national identity, and champion reforms through his writings and actions. Although he
may not have had a single "secret mission," Rizal's overall objective was evident and that is to
inspire change and bring about improvements for his beloved homeland, the Philippines.
