B. Developmental activities
1. Presentation
Our topic for today is all about clear out room service equipment.

2. Discussion
Room service responsibility - take away the tray when guest have finished their meal either by:
1. asking them to place thier tray outside their room when they have finished
2. to clean it 20 minutes after the service or by asking them to call them to come clear away the tray.
Two persons responsible in clearing room service areas.
1. Room boy- responsible for controlling floor service procedure and directing staff to clear the
rooms
and floor.
2. Room service order taker - must be inform when a room or floor has been cleared after room
service.
Room service order required information:
1. Date
2. Room number
3. Whether tray or trolley has been taken
4. Time he order had been taken
5. Person delivering the order
6. Time the order was cleared
Procedure:
1. Assemble all necessary material for room service clearence.
2. The time of clearance is known by adking the guest during the service or fron the order taker.
3. Follow the some procedure as in SOP for openning the door upon reahing the rooms.
4. Announce the intention of clearing the tray and trolley after the gues open the door.
5. Arrange all clearance on the tray
6. Arrange the guest room appropriately
7. Find out the guest would like anything else.
8. If nothing exit from the room gracefully while wishing the guest wonderful day/night.
9. Carry the tray from the room service.
10. Inform the room service order taker aboot the clearance.

C. Concluding actities
1. Generalisation

Why it is important that tray and trolley placed outsid and inside the room are cleared promptly?
