women. There are witches in all countries around the world. There are around a
hundred witches in England. They are disguised as normal women. However, they
have some “quirky habits” which make it possible to spot them.
Witches hate children. Their mission is to rid the world of children. An average
witch hopes to disappear a child a week, that is over fifty children each year!
Chapter 2 – My Grandmother
The author lives in England with his Norwegian parents. He often visits Norway,
which is the original home of witches. He speaks English and Norwegian fluently.

a car crash. He goes to live with this Grandmother in Oslo. Grandmamma is old,
wrinkled, and exceedingly fat. She smokes cigars. Grandmamma is an great
storyteller. However, the stories she tells the boy about witches are both terrifying

Ranghild Hansen, disappeared with a tall lady who wore gloves. Despite a huge
