INT. A SUBURBAN HOUSE
The rising sun shines through the window reflecting on the
screen of a flip phone. The phone is unusually placed at the
center of the table. The phone vibrates catching the
attention of a middle aged man. He reads a newspaper, a
single droplet of sweat trickling down his face, hesitant to
answer the phone, he seems scared.
CUT TO:

EXT. SUBURBAN STREET

A duck waits across a road. The street is empty, no cars, no


pedestrians. The traffic light turns red. The duck starts to
cross the road. Her ducklings pop out of a shrub, following
her walking pattern. They cross the road.
CUT TO:

INT. AN OPERATING ROOM


A young nurse preparing surgical instruments. She looks at a
patient list. There are no surgeries scheduled for today. She
switches of the lights and walks out.

THE SCREEN GLITCHES/PIXELATES.


CUT TO:

THE FLIP PHONE. IT VIBRATES. THE MAN IGNORES IT.


CUT TO:

THE DUCK CROSSES. THE RED LIGHT. THE DUCKLINGS POP OUT. THEY
CROSS THE ROAD.
CUT TO:

NURSE PLACES INSTRUMENTS ON A TRAY. CHECKS LIST. SWITCHES OF


LIGHT AND WALKS OUT.
THE SCREEN GLITCHES/PIXELATES.

THE FLIP PHONE. THE SWEAT.


CUT TO:

THE RED LIGHT. THE DUCKS CROSS THE ROAD.


CUT TO:

NURSE CHECKS LIST. SWITCHES OFF LIGHTS.

THE FLIP PHONE.

THE RED LIGHT.

The flip phone rings, this time its a call, the man answers.
His face is drowned in fear. He grabs his keys. Starts his
car, pulls out of his driveway and races down the road.
The ducks cross. This time the light is green. A car
approaches from the distance. The man notices the ducks and
swerves. The car tumbles down the slope.
CUT TO BLACK.

THE SCREEN GLITCHES. THE BUTTERFLY FLAPS ITS WINGS.

INT. OPERATING ROOM


The man opens his eyes. Sounds drowning around him, he sees
the figure of a young nurse.
The nurse walks to a table. She picks up a phone and calls a
number. The ringtone is familiar to the man, he has heard it
before. He realizes what it means, as the heart monitor
flatlines.
CUT TO:

THE FLIP PHONE SITTING AT THE CENTRE OF THE TABLE. IT


VIBRATES.
CUT TO BLACK.
