THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE

By the end of this unit students should be able to


design a consumer guide (free choice for selecting
products/items).
As regards the language forms, students should use:
The conditional: types0, 1 and 2 to express condition
/feelings /to describe and argue.
Link words expressing cause and effect (as a result,
consequently…) to express opinions /cause and effect.

PROJECT :MAKING A CONSUMER GUIDE
TASK ONE: selecting products
-Select products that people consume or use daily:
 toiletries (soap, shampoo …)
 detergents and cleaning products
 car or machine maintenance products
 plant and gardening products ….
TASK TWO gathering information about the various brands of the
product
Collect:
 adverts
 labels, leaflets on the products..

TASK THREE: analyzing the product from an ecological point of view


PAY ATTENTION TO:
 features (chemical composition of the brands)
 packaging
 MARKETING.
YOUR GUIDE WILL INCLUDE:
 letters of complaint (reminders) addressed to the companies which do not
produce ‘clean’ products.
 A rubbish-collection guide.
 Adverts, labels..
PPS are split into small groups to realize the project/PPS are free to choose how to
proceed.
