Planning 3 Requirement
1. Assigned Group work:
Group of 3 or 4 students will do a planning exercises about Urban analysis of Zamboanga City. This
exercise is an application of what had discussed in this module.
2. Project Title: Land Use Planning
3. Background:
The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize and analyze the situational problem of land use planning
in Zamboanga City.
The assigned group will produce maps or plans of Existing general and urban Land Use of Zamboanga
City and give their assessment of the situational analysis of land use of base on the ZC master
development plan and other datas. This datas will be use in a small-scale project which focus on the
urban area of the said city. The study area is given in the location and site below.
4. Location and Site:
The Study Area covers all barangays within DPU 1 (CBD) area (CLUP 2016-2025). Figure 1 shows
the entire areas and verify barangays’ boundaries of DPU 1 CBD area. The map below is taken from
google earth with barangay tax map. This data will be given to students in google earth file. Please
check Map of Development Planned Units (DPU -1 CBD) in p. 19 & 20 CLUP 2016-2025.

1. Existing Urban Land Use Map of ZCMDP or CLUP 2016-2025 (scale: any convenient
scale fit to the format size)
2. Image map of urban area of Zamboanga city (google earth) (scale: any convenient scale fit
to the format size).
B. Plate no. 2 (1 of 20”x30” paper): date Due: Feb. 28, 2024
3. Produce a new Existing Land Use Map base of the study area (scale: any convenient scale
fit to the format size)
3.1 Please follow the step-by-step procedure on how to prepare the existing urban
land use map in the Guidebook on the Preparation of Sustainable Land Use Plan
vol. 1, pp 96 to 99
3.2 Please adopt standard color-coding use for maps in CLUP guidebook, A Guide to
Comprehensive Land Use Plan Preparation 2013, vol.1, planning process pp.117-
118
3.3 Use the given file of google earth and barangay tax map of the study area (base on
clup 2016-2025)
4. Table/s for assessment: Give your own assessment of the existing situational analysis of
land use of Zamboanga city base on ZCMDP, CLUP 2016-2025 and other datas. This
table can be inserted in among the required maps.
Below is the required assessment focus on the following questions:
4.1 What is the total area (in hectares) of the study area?
4.2 Delineate the major urban uses based on google earth, land survey, and compare
map with ZCMDP/CLUP
4.3 Give the area (in hectare) of each delineated Urban Land Uses and how much
percentage of the study area it covers.
4.4 Please see sample on how to prepare the existing urban land use map in the
Guidebook on the Preparation of Sustainable Land Use Plan vol. 1, p101.

* Submit your plate in A3 or 20x30” size paper or hardcopy

format. Students can send their file only once.

8. Mode of checking
*Students are required to use 20”x30” paper size, horizontal format. If and when students can not able
to submit their hardcopies, this format size will be reproduced into smaller A3 format to a printout
which is legible to use for checking purposes.

*3 to 4cm thick title block
A B C D E with 5 blocks covers half of paper length.

D- date given, date due, date submitted; E-page no.
F with 2 blocks occupies half of paper length.
F criteria for grading assessments. Different rubric format will be used in different set of
design/plate requirement.
