6:00-6:40 Activating PRE-READING ACTIVITIES Prior Prayer (40 min) Knowledge Exercise/ Energizer Ask the pupils the sounds that they know. Bubble Map Write the pupils’ responses in a circle map or bubble map. Model reading the pupils’ responses and let them repeat after me. Match Words to its Pictures Present pictures of vehicles/models and word cards. Say the words and let pupils repeat after me. Ask pupils to match the word cards and the pictures. Motivation: How do you go to school? Do you walk to school? What kinds of transportation do you take? Lesson Proper DURING READING /Development Presenting / Reading of Comprehension Questions (120 min) of Learning Where was Lito going? Why can’t Lito’s tricycle get ahead of the cars and jeeps? What other transportation were there? What sounds were heard? Reading the whole story Answer the following questions. 1. What is the title of the story? 2. Who is Kuya Ben? 3. How did Lito get to school? 4. What sounds were heard by Lito on his way to school? 5. Which means of transportation made these sounds? 6. Do you think Lito arrived in school on time? What made you think so? 7. How did Lito feel that day? 8. Will Lito see Kuya Ben again? Reading of the story by paragraph (Pop Reading Technique / Take Turns Story Reading) Answer 1-2 comprehension questions about each paragraph Reading of the story by pair (Reading Buddy Technique) Answer all the comprehension questions Game: Light -Camera-Action (Visualizing Scenes) Call a pair of volunteers to read and act on the scene from the story. Group Activity Grp 1 – Picture Talk Each pair of the group members will be given a picture and they will tell what is shown in the picture based on the story. Grp 2- Ordering Events The group will read each sentence strip of an event in the story. Then, the members will arrange the sentences in order. Grp 3-Draw and Tell – Extending the Sory Draw and tell what could be the next things that will happen.

Grp 4- Cause and Effect
Match each cause to its effect.
Grp 5 – Word Hunt ( Decoding)
Read the story again. Look for words with consonant blends. List as many as you can.
