EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Recognizing the potential factors of the ecotourism industry in Vietnam, especially for
connecting sustainable traveling with wildlife nature conservation, the internship
report is performed in the scope of main developing goals and potential factors in
WANEE Vietnam Company Limited to identify, analyze and develop potential factors,
services and products related to ecotourism and wildlife conservation in WANEE
Vietnam, as a result, brings out some practical recommendations for the company.
After applying many methods including observation, analysis, survey, collecting data,
and focus group working to find out the difficulty of understanding children’s
psychology and creating a positive interactive environment with children. Then I
applied SWOT methods to summarize, analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities, and Threats to figure out the main factors affecting on experiencing
children’s nature tours.
The graduation report also gives some recommendations for WANEE Vietnam
Company Limited to suggest ideas and potential developments in the ecotourism
industry. All the recommendations in this internship thesis are stated in practical ways
and working directly in WANEE Vietnam. Additionally, the author also summarizes
clear strategies for the company's advancement and goals in the next three years.

INTRODUCTION
Internship Background
After the COVID-19 pandemic, people have aimed for healthy physical or mental
activities to boost their health and spirit every day such as yoga, marathons,
meditation, jogging, etc. Other people want to experience their life through traveling to
closely connect with nature and their inner child by choosing ecotourism tours.
Ecotourism is a type of sustainable tourism that concentrates on the conservation of
natural regions and the promotion of environmentally friendly behaviors. It also
involves educating travelers about nature and the environmental challenges that affect
it. Moreover, ecotourism promotes local communities economically by developing
sustainable tourism ventures. As a result, WANEE Vietnam Company Limited is one
of the new travel agencies that combines “travel” with actual experience to convey the
message of conservation and wildlife nature clearly to people in the world. In addition,
after studying the course English for Tourism and Hospitality at UEH University, I
was inspired by interesting features and travel operations in many different types of
tourism. Fortunately, being a travel and nature lover, I am honored to have a chance to
become a nature guide intern at WANEE, I believe that during my time here, I will
achieve knowledgeable information, practical and interesting experiences, especially
amazing and inspiring stories in bird conservation in Vietnam. Besides working and
interacting with many active and talented people in WANEE, I learned how to plan,
organize and operate many tours related to ecotourism such as bird watching, birding
for kids workshops, cultural tours…. Definitely, I could improve my essential skills in
my career development as well as my excellent mindset in the future.
Reasons for choosing the topic
I consider that nature in Vietnam is very magnificent and various as well as ecotourism
is more and more developing in Vietnam. Thus, many travel companies focus on
strongly developing eco-tours, which makes them competitive. However, not everyone
understands the nature and core sustainable value of ecotourism, or even that they are
impacting nature, environment and ecology negatively. Although WANEE was
established and became a new ecotourism company in 2022, they are full of expertise
in ecotourism, sustainable tourism, ecological research. In my point of view, WANEE
has many impressive ideas, plans, travel tours such as wildlife watching, “Birding and
Friends” workshops for kids, herping, photography tours,... Then, I observed and
found that there are a number of breakthrough potentials for the sustainable ecotourism
industry in Vietnam. As a result, through this chosen topic, I would like to synthesize
information and recommend some solutions to develop competitiveness and promote
WANEE to be a pioneer in ecotourism via conservation, sustainable tourism
development and launching new products, services, or solutions that satisfy the
expectations of customers.
Purpose of the study
Identifying, analyzing and developing potential factors, services and products related
to ecotourism and wildlife conservation in WANEE Vietnam.
Subjects of the study
i) Special and competitive ecotourism services of WANEE Vietnam
ii) Recommendation and strategies for solving problems and improving the
competitiveness of WANEE Vietnam
Scope of the study
The internship report is performed in the scope of main developing goals and potential
factors in WANEE Vietnam Company Limited.
Methodology
The author performed the graduation report by applying many methods including
observation, analyzing, survey, collecting data, focus group working then I applied
SWOT methods to summarize, analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and
Threats through directly experiencing and working as an intern in WANEE Vietnam.
CHAPTER 1: OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
1.1 Company Overview
1.1.1 History and development
1.1.1.1 WANNE Vietnam - Outdoor and Nature Hubs
WANEE Vietnam Company Limited is one of the traveling companies in the
ecotourism industry in Vietnam established in 2022 by the CEO Nguyen Van Thang.
WANEE Vietnam has two main locations in Ho Chi Minh City; WANEE Vietnam's
Representative Office is at 273 Dien Bien Phu, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3, Ho Chi
Minh City and the Head Office is at 53 D Street, Lakeview Urban Area, An Phu Ward,
City, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City with Business License 0317246179. WANEE
Vietnam was born with a great passion for ecotourism and conservation. They aim to
become a friend and collaborator who assists in connecting National Parks and
Conservation Areas with communities and specialized research organizations. From
here, WANEE would like to establish a strong friendship that will have a beneficial
impact on society and wildlife nature. WANEE Vietnam is committed to supporting
National Parks and Conservation Areas by spreading the message of sustainable
conservation to the population all over the world, providing sustainable ecotourism
activities, services, products, and creating helpful conditions for promoting local
communities and economy in each destination.

1.1.1.2 WANEE Asia
WANEE Asia is officially empowered by WANEE Vietnam, which specializes in
designing amazing Vietnam Wildlife Tours and Activities, with a particular focus on
Birding, Herping, Ecotourism Tours, and Educational Tours. WANEE Asia’s website
serves as a customer portal to meticulously develop trip itineraries as well as important
insights on Vietnam's rich avian and reptilian biodiversity, mammals, insects, and
other creatures. Coming to WANEE Asia, people can have valuable opportunities to
discover a plethora of travel tips helping them enjoy the most of their time or vacation
in Vietnam. WANEE Asia’s greatest pride is in providing Private and Custom tours
that are specifically crafted for a memorable 'Wild & Nature Explore' experience.
WANEE Asia offers everything from thrilling Herping Adventures to immersive
National Park Tours, inspiring Photography tours, lively Wildlife Watching and

WANEE Kids Hub is one of the potentially developing branches of WANEE Vietnam.
It is designed and operated based on educational tours for children who are from 6
years old. WANEE Kids Hub aims at educating and raising awareness of children or
young generations about the significant role of the natural environment, and
ecotourism in conserving wildlife habitats as well as human impacts on nature on the
planet. Moreover, children have meaningful and virtual experiences while directly

touching and connecting with nature. As a result, they will have a chance to make new

friends, form a love of nature, improve physical activities and promote mental health
through exciting tours or workshops such as Birding & Friends, Birding for Kids
Workshop, Journey to the Forest for Children, Forest Lessons...in many optimal
destinations like Can Gio, Tram Chim National Park, Ma Da Forest, Cat Tien National
Park,...
1.1.2 Mission, vision, and strategies of the company
WANEE Vietnam founded with a great mission is to create unique, environmentally
responsible conservation tourism experiences that benefit tourists and local
communities by designing the most amazing itineraries for visitors who want to
explore the actual "Wild & Nature in Vietnam" with the best products and services at
the most economical prices. Additionally, WANEE Vietnam is committed to
preserving local culture, lifestyle, and growing mutually beneficial collaboration.
WANEE Vietnam has progressively expanded its tours and activities in Vietnam
emphasizing Birding, Herping and National Park Tours in Vietnam as well as
operating personalized excursions for the particular demands that combine Nature
Tours and Culture Tours. As a result, WANEE Vietnam's vision is to pioneer
conservation tourism and adventures in nature by raising awareness and sharing
livelihoods with local communities. WANEE Vietnam is constantly researching,
gaining new knowledge, improving professional skills and innovating to launch goods
and solutions that contribute to sustainable development while preserving the
environment. According to WANEE’s effort and vision “Sustainable tourism
development contributes to wildlife conservation”, all ecotourism programs or projects
aim the clear goal that 90% of those who participate in WANEE's "Tours & Activities"
are completely satisfied, and the rest are extremely impressed and will grow into long-
term friends and potential partners in the future.
WANEE Vietnam has gradually built and prepared for breakthrough strategies to
become one of the leading pioneers in ecotourism with conservation, sustainable
tourism development, the advancement of new products, services, or solutions that
meet customer needs, and the improvement of a creative dynamic workplace for
employees in Vietnam by 2026.

wildlife nature.

1.2 Organizational structure
1.2.1 Business Model
WANEE Vietnam is a provider of ecological tourism solutions with a particular
emphasis on tourist development, product design, conservation tours, and creative
branding. Our distinct strategy combines tourists, communities, and conservation
activities, leading to market-leading sustainable experiences. We have a beneficial
effect on nature and the local economy through collaboration, expert resources, and
local knowledge.
The operating principles of WANEE Vietnam are based on the following main rules.
Firstly, “No Plastic Waste”, to reduce environmental effects, all plastic products used
on the tour are collected and recycled. Secondly, “Water-Saving”, WANEE Vietnam
applies water-saving methods to reduce water consumption during tour activities.
Finally, “Local Culture Respect”, being respectful and polite in communicating,
sharing, experiencing multicultural activities in each region and supporting the local
community.
1.2.1.1 General Performance in 2022
In general, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected all enterprises, not
only in Vietnam but also all over the world, and the growth rate is not as high as
expected when customers may focus on earning and saving money for more essential
things than traveling. However, WANEE Vietnam has continuously developed
sustainable ecological tours since 2022 and reached target customers including foreign
tourists who want to learn about Vietnam's wild nature with tours specializing in birds,
wild animals, amphibians, reptiles, and national parks, exciting programs for children,
family, private businesses and schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Furthermore, most
traveling be often planned during vacation, spare time, holidays, so WANEE
Vietnam’s inbound customer group focuses on November to May of the following
year, children are on 3 summer months while during the school year, WANEE
Vietnam connects with Vietnamese and International to organize school excursions.

1.2.2 Organizational Chart


With a strong professional orientation and high efficiency, WANEE Vietnam’s
organizational structure is applied by the Holacracy model, which expresses non-
hierarchical governance and allows all employees to invest more in their careers
through open communication, opinions sharing and flexible working practices to
increase company's overall productivity.

1.2.3 Function and Fields of Company


To become a popular ecological tourism company that can provide the best experience
for everyone, WANEE Vietnam constantly researches, analyzes, advances, launches,
and optimizes new lines of high-quality and outstanding products and services that can
satisfy customer demand, satisfaction, and expenses, as well as the diverse lifestyle of
customers.
In Vietnam’s ecotourism industry, WANEE Vietnam competes with a wide range of
nature-focused companies. However, WANEE Vietnam still confidently asserts itself
in Vietnam’s ecotourism market with its strength and unique products and services by
encompassing services, spanning tours, tourist consulting, and branding design for
both native and foreign customers.
- Conservation Tours: These are fascinating ecotourism tours for people who
would like to have a chance to go outside, spend their time, escape from the
hustle and bustle city and connect to nature, experience amazing adventures,
stories among Vietnam’s lush jungles and peaceful landscapes. With 5 main
outstanding tours including the Wildlife Watching Tour, Wildlife Photography
Tour, Nature Boost for Kids, Nature Workshops and Training, and Nature
Retreat Tour.
- Educational Tours: Along with providing access to professional wildlife tours
in Vietnam, WANEE Vietnam also provides educational excursions for
children, with the goal of fostering a strong bond between children and nature.
This connection is the starting point step for long-term conservation. WANEE

significant experience in wildlife exploration, will attract and stimulate

- Destination Design: WANEE Vietnam also provides services supporting
entrepreneurs in destination designing to help easily digitize and promote
products and services to tourists such as Feasibility Assessment, Concept and
Design 2D, 3D, Specialized Equipment, Construction Supervision, Marketing
and Operation.
- Tourist Consulting: Moreover, WANEE Vietnam expands to become a tourist
consultant through services involving Market Analysis and Research, Product
Conceptualization and Planning, Itinerary Design and Tailoring, Pricing
Strategy and Revenue Management, Competitor Analysis and Benchmarking.
- Creative & Branding: With the WANEE Vietnam team’s creativity, they
develop ideal plans and launch another aspect of business or personal branding
through services related to Brand Identity and Logo Design, Marketing
Collateral Creation, Website Design and Development, Social Media Marketing
and Management, Content Creation (Blog, Video, Photography).
1.3 Introduction of Internship Position
1.3.1 Introduction of Nature Guide Intern
As a nature guide intern at WANEE Vietnam, I will have an opportunity to work with
talented, friendly and experienced ecological researchers, learn the process of
organizing and operating ecotourism tours, flexibly interact with customers including
children from the age of 6, work in much comfortably environment and be trained in
professional knowledge and skills as nature tour guides.
1.3.2 Formulation of Internship Goals
I combined the IKIGAI with the OKR method to find my strong and weak points to set
up my goals while working as an intern at WANEE Vietnam. Additionally, I applied
skills including time management and arrangement, long-time planning, and
presenting for the instructor in the company. Finally, I created my own OKR table
including 4 main objectives:

CHAPTER 2: PROBLEM ANALYSIS


2.1 Problem 1: Limitation of activities while experiencing children’s nature tours
in WANEE Vietnam

2.1.1 Situation Analysis


During my internship at WANEE Vietnam, I had the opportunity to directly observe
and support tour guides in the workshop "Birding and Friends" that occurred at
WANEE Office in Lakeview City and Lakeview's outdoor campus area, for students.
Children from 6 to 14 years old, with a total of 8 children. The workshop takes place
within 3 and a half hours with the following specific activities such as learning an
overview of bird species in Vietnam, how to use bird observation equipment like
binoculars, and telescopes, learning about the world of insects under the microscope -
experience nature, visiting museums and listening to many conservation stories, then
participating in searching and identifying birds in outdoor spaces. However, children
at this age often like to experience using their senses to explore the world, want to
assert themselves as an adult, and have difficulty sitting and listening for a long time
about a certain topic. Besides, the way of communicating and interacting with children
through activities is still limited in a certain short time, affecting the children's
experience.

2.1.2 Project Methodology and Steps of Execution


2.1.1.1 Project Methodology
Besides the limitations of children's tour experience activities, I conducted the SWOT
method to specifically analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Challenges, and
Opportunities of Educational Tours to have more basis for recommending effective
solutions that are suitable for the recent problem, supporting WANEE Vietnam in
recognizing the problem, thereby improving quality and creating many interesting and
attractive activities for children in the near future.
2.1.1.2 Steps of Execution
Step 1: Analyzing Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of Children’s
Birding Tours
Strengths
Despite being a young company in the ecotourism industry, WANEE Vietnam is the
first children’s birding tour provider in Vietnam. With a love of nature and the desire
to contribute and convey the message of wildlife conservation and eco-tourism in
Vietnam, WANEE Vietnam creates interesting and unique short and long-term
programs for children of all ages of 6-14 years old. Besides, it is highly educational
about the environment for children: creating a positive playground for children,
promoting taking children out into nature instead of being addicted to phones and
iPads, giving children the chance to explore the natural ecosystem and habitat in Ho
Chi Minh City. By raising children's awareness about the ecosystem, an overview of
bird species in Vietnam, learning how to use binoculars, telescopes to observe and
identify birds, understanding bird hunting in Vietnam, thereby nurturing the love of
nature for children. Therefore, children have wonderful chances to make new friends
through teamwork, sharing ideas, observing and looking up bird guidebooks with each
other.
Weaknesses
Having difficulty catching the attention of children in a short time while sharing with
them basic theories about ecotourism, wildlife nature, and various bird species in
Vietnam. In addition, outdoor activities depend on the weather, especially affecting
bird watching because birds will seek safe space or shelter when encountering bad
weather, which affects children’s experience and makes them disappointed. The
number of children ecotourism tours will mostly focus on the 3 months of summer
vacation, leading to uneven and stable revenue and profit from this type of kid-friendly
birding tour. The limitation of activities is one of the significant factors that make
WANEE Vietnam have trouble in interacting and connecting with children closely or
creating a fun atmosphere to fascinate them.
Opportunities
WANEE Vietnam has the opportunity to introduce and satisfy the target customers
with good income who want to find and bring the best things to their children through
learning new knowledge, essential skills and developing in many various educational
environments.
With orientations for new and different programs in ecotourism for children, WANEE
can impress parents and international schools in Ho Chi Minh City, creating many
playgrounds, new activities for children through field trips and exploring beautiful
nature. Educational Tours such as Birding for Kids, Birding and Friends help children
learn about how their actions affect the natural world and society. For example, a trip
to seek and observe various bird species can teach children the importance of bird
ecosystems and wild nature in Vietnam. As a result, WANEE Vietnam can inspire and
motivate children to pursue their interests and ambitions through educational tours.
They can discover new interests, hobbies, fields of study by traveling to different
destinations and meeting with individuals from different cultural backgrounds,
experiencing several amazing and beneficial activities, then motivating them to
participate in conservation projects and programs in the future.
Threats
Customers who are parents will demand high safety and protection for their children
during outdoor trips, especially short-time tours in the forest. Additionally, WANEE
Vietnam’s tour guides need to interact with hyperactive children flexibly and create
many active and funny atmospheres for them.
Maintaining the number of tours regularly because children’s summer vacation often
occurs within three months per year.
Although WANEE Vietnam provides many educational ecotourism tours with high
quality for kids, it has to create attractive and impressive activities to pursue customers
as well as the way to engage children in nature conservation and be recognized as a
powerful tool for biodiversity preservation.
Step 2: After analyzing, synthesizing information and making lists of general
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, I tried to give recommendations and
suggestions for improving limitations of activities while experiencing children’s nature
tours in WANEE Vietnam.
2.1.3 Key Results
Generally, WANEE Vietnam has many strong and cooperative relationships with
ecotourism hotspots, National Park and natural conservation areas in Vietnam, it can
link with these destinations or even call for sponsors to jointly carry out and convey
the message of afforestation through planting trees at familiar regions such as Tram
Chim National Park, Ma Da Forest, Can Gio Mangrove Forest,...by choosing typical
tree varieties suitable for the area's ecosystem, then letting children plant and water the
plants by themselves or with parents, adults. As a result, children can save meaningful
moments and memories with their achievements.
Furthermore, WANEE Vietnam can also advance and add the “Planting trees” activity
to the “Birding for Kids” or “Birding and Friends” workshop in Ho Chi Minh
including the following basic process:
Firstly, children prepare a small plant pot for themselves, encouraging them to be
creative and recycle from bottles, jars or empty plant pots at home.
Secondly, WANEE Vietnam will prepare a few different seedlings, soil, planting tools,
gloves, and sprinklers for kids.
Thirdly, children will plant and water the plants by themselves, then they bring the
plants home and take care of them every day.
Finally, WANEE Vietnam will integrate the message of planting trees, creating fresh
green spaces, and increasing awareness of the significance of protecting biodiversity
and bird habitats in Vietnam.
In brief, WANEE Vietnam should innovate and develop many exciting activities
during the process of experiencing educational and ecological tours for kids. In case
the bad weather influences on watching birds, WANEE Vietnam can have other
fascinating activities to alternate reasonably and avoid making children bored while
interacting with tour guides.

2.2 Problem 2: Having difficulty understanding children’s psychology and


creating a positive interactive environment with children

2.2.1 Situation Analysis


In fact, WANEE Vietnam has constantly expanded and developed many educational
tours for kids from the age of 6. However, most nature tour guides in WANEE
Vietnam are ecological researchers who spend a lot of time researching data, and
theories. Therefore, they had difficulty understanding children's psychology and
interacting with children during the tour experience in a skillful way, which made
children quite bored and unenthusiastic with the tour activities. Fortunately, one of the
kids’ mothers who used to directly take part in Birding Tours for Kids in WANEE
Vietnam is a preschool education expert - Mrs. Phan Thi Tuy Anh. I and the members
had a meaningful and helpful workshop day to share with each other and understand
clearly this problem in the WANEE’s Office.

2.2.2 Project Methodology and Steps of Execution


2.2.2.1 Project Methodology
Applying the Focus Group method in Marketing and Writing skills at school, I could
observe, listen to, memorize and write down systematically all beneficial information
through opinions and discussions among a group of research subjects led by an
experienced leader Mrs. Phan Thi Tuy Anh – Founder, Director Educator of Mup Mip
Kindergarten

2.2.2.2 Steps of Execution
Firstly, I accessed and interacted with the "Points of You" tool - Points of view about
myself and everyone in the company by creating and telling personal stories by
choosing random picture cards on the table.
Secondly, I participated in group activities to record and discuss some typical
characteristics of age groups from 1 to 3 years old and from 3 to 6 years old.
Finally, I understood and collected important data clearly about the sensitive stages of
cognitive development through the Psychosocial Development Theory of Erik Erikson.

2.2.3 Key Results


All members of WANEE Vietnam are more and more open, creative and ready to
accept opportunities and see things from a different perspective in life through the
"Points of You" tool. Moreover, we can better understand helpful contents including
psychological characteristics of children through each age stage, stages of cognitive
development, and applications in creating a positive interactive environment with
children consistent with their psychological characteristics and age physiology.
Particularly, WANEE Vietnam always innovating, increasing the quality of
ecotourism tours and activities for customers. I find that is one of the most competitive
factors of WANEE Vietnam when members continuously upgrade and widen their
expertise in systematizing and running fascinating tours and activities. Therefore,
WANEE Vietnam must create trust, confidently assert its reputation and become one
of the best ecotourism companies in Vietnam for native and foreign customers. In
addition, by understanding children’s psychology and creating a positive interactive
environment with children, WANEE Vietnam can easily communicate with, make
activities more funny and impressive, and catch up with many children’s wonderful
experiences through each nature tour.
CHAPTER 3: RECOMMENDATIONS
Generally, Vietnam's nature and biodiversity are inherently diverse and rich in
beautiful landscapes, WANEE Vietnam combines "tourism" with practical experiential
activities to bring the message of conservation to everyone accurately and closely.
Because, conservation is not only the activity of protecting a species, a specific area or
just the task of an organization or a center, but also the activity of protecting all
organisms and habitats as they all have a powerful relationship and connection with
each other. As a result, people want to learn and experience what they hear and read
through the press or other media; people want to contribute to conservation and
community development; tourists expect to visit more remote tourist destinations or
even people often go to peaceful areas to have a chance to touch nature and connect
themselves.
Although WANEE Vietnam was established in 2022, it determined a clear mission,
vision and sustainable goals in the ecotourism industry. Up till now, WANEE Vietnam
has already owned the potential factors and impressive ideas compared to other
traditional travel companies. However, WANEE Vietnam still needs much time to
improve, develop, innovate and advertise all wildlife tours and activities to reach a
variety of target customers.
3.1 Recommendations
3.1.1 Redesigning and developing the WANEE Vietnam Guidebook
WANEE Vietnam is continuously creating and developing many new projects,
products and services related to ecotourism. However, these special forms of
ecotourism are unfamiliar to Vietnamese customers, which makes customers confused
about choosing and joining suitable nature tours for their preferences. Therefore,
WANEE Vietnam should redesign a particularly new and impressive guidebook
expressing all main contents or schedules of each ecotourism, which helps customers
compare, analyze, choose, and make decisions for WANEE Vietnam’s products and
services.
3.1.2 Enhancing the allocation of resources and drawing in funding for the
development of ecotourism industry
To create a tourism development strategy that closely matches market demands and
diversifies products to fulfill the increasingly varied and complex needs of tourists,
WANEE Vietnam has to conduct an overall survey and assessment of the existing
status of national tourism products.
Increased investment promotion efforts are especially needed for important national
tourism projects and big infrastructural initiatives. to promote investment in tourism
development initiatives that make a commitment to specifically safeguard, improve,
and expand tourism resources. WANEE Vietnam can advance administrative
procedures, give business establishment permits, and business and investment licenses.
Develop regulations on investment incentives in certain tourism zones and locations
by connecting with local authorities and National Park regions.
3.1.3 Training and promoting quality of human resources to meet the
requirements of ecotourism development
Improve the level of expertise of the contingent of cadres and civil servants in the state
management of tourism at all levels; closely combine theoretical and practical
knowledge; regularly organize training and retraining activities for industry personnel,
with a focus on developing a force of experts in each specialized field of tourism
activities, especially with regard to the development of sustainable tourism.
3.1.4 Expanding and calling for investment in scientific research related to
wildlife nature
Develop strategies, programs, long-term plans, and annual plans for tourism promotion
and advertisement instantly, focusing on ecotourism, cruise tourism, spiritual tourism,
heritage tourism, etc.; encourage joint activities to boost overall promotion and
advertisement effectiveness. In addition, WANEE Vietnam can widen academic
seminars and conferences and link to universities such as the Ho Chi Minh University
of Science to find out the natural research related to the situation of the ecotourism
industry, wildlife nature, and biodiversity in Vietnam. As a result, WANEE Vietnam
can build powerful partnerships with many different universities in the future.
3.1.5 Having optimal and long-term strategies for advertising all ecological tours
and activities on social media
To reach many customer segments, WANEE Vietnam needs to set up a content
strategy that differentiates its ecological tourism company from other travel agencies
while WANEE Vietnam is attempting to advertise tours and activities on social media.
The material WANEE Vietnam writes must convey a powerful emotional message and
motivate the target customers to take action including blog posts, videos, photos,
newsletters, e-books, and newsletters.
Furthermore, WANEE Vietnam can even build a proactive social network of people
committed to responsible and inspiring environmental and cultural tourism will aid in
marketing campaigns, that encourage a sense of affiliation, familial bonds, trust, unity,
exclusive distribution, and partnership among the group's members by establishing this
community of travelers. Joining this group, travelers can be comfortable sharing with
others many amazing stories and experiences, nature equipment,…Moreover, by
establishing this community, WANEE Vietnam and other members will have a voice
and be able to express their demands, concerns, and suggestions to one another,
offering everyone in the group valuable insights into the field of
ecotourism. Additionally, they will also recommend WANEE Vietnam business,
discuss ecotourism on social media, and provide the necessary feedback.

3.1.6 Creating Particular Training Programs for Interns


During my three-month internship at WANEE Vietnam, I found that WANEE
Vietnam did not have any particular training programs for nature guide interns, which
made them confused of facing with many new things in the process of working there.
WANEE Vietnam needs to have time to control and improve essential practical skills
for interns that can be used in different situations and programs as part of a career
path in the future. Moreover, WANEE Vietnam can instruct, observe and evaluate the
efficiency of interns working through the results or suggestions. Besides, WANEE
Vietnam should spend time on training professionals and the essential skills of a tour
guide intern in understanding and organizing WANEE Vietnam’s ecotourism tours and
activities.
Setting manageable goals for the internship program. As the objectives of new
internship programs are unrealistic. Once WANEE Vietnam has set up and determined
the duration and the number of interns, WANEE can create expectations for how the
interns will perform within the framework of the company. Then, WANEE Vietnam
can assist with supporting interns’ long-term job functions or work on a few large
projects while adhering to a daily schedule. No matter how new interns perform their
tasks at WANEE Vietnam’s business, they should keep tabs on their progress and give
them periodic updates so they may finish the internship with their objectives met.
For new nature guide interns, WANEE Vietnam can design professional training
programs on tour guide skills as well as hands-on internship experiences so they can
learn from them and apply what they learn to the objectives of the business.

3.2 Strategy for the company in the next 3 years by 2026


WANEE Vietnam was established in 2022 with the great ambition of contributing to
wildlife conservation through ecotourism services in Vietnam. Despite being one of
the young companies in the ecological tourism industry, WANEE Vietnam always
concentrates on ecosystem research, innovating, advancing and promoting the best
products and services to satisfy more and more native and foreign customers.
Breakthrough development goals for the next 3 years
Being Top 1 in Vietnam Kids_Hub in operating kid-friendly nature activities, which
makes for a fun, safe and helpful experience for children or family.
Expanding and progressing the variety of wildlife and nature tours in WANEE Asia
including Scheduled Tours and Tailor-made Tours, all meticulously suitable for
customer preferences such as Bird-watching, Herping, Photography Tours, Wildlife-
watching, National Park Tours to achieve goals that are ranked among the Top 3
options of foreign travelers seeking and enjoying a wild tour in Vietnam.
Creating open locations like Nature_Hub and providing camping, glamping and
specialized outdoor equipment for people who would like to share equipment for
nature experience together and building a trustworthy and excellent choice for
internship.
WANEE Vietnam continuously innovates and raises the quality of services it offers to
uphold and enhance its reputation and brand name in the future. Moreover, I believe
that WANEE Vietnam will be among the Top 10 partners working on natural tourist
development projects shortly.

3.3 Limitations of the Study


The reason for the timing limitation, my internship report was conducted around Ho
Chi Minh City and the background of WANEE Vietnam. Although I worked as a
nature guide intern, I have no many opportunities to directly experience and lead any
WANEE Vietnam’s ecotourism tours and activities. Furthermore, the company is
newly established and revenue comes from many different sources, so I can not get
these clear and particular figures. As a result, my collected data, information and
recommendations are based on experience and reading from many sources while
working in WANEE Vietnam’s Head Office.
CONCLUSION
Recognizing the significance of wildlife nature, and biodiversity conservation through
sustainable traveling, especially the ecotourism industry in Vietnam. The internship
report was conducted and figured out the potential products and services, some recent
issues that WANEE Vietnam has faced with during my three-month internship.
The results from the Focus Group method in Marketing and Writing skills at school, I
could observe, listen to, memorize and write down systematically all beneficial
information through opinions and discussions among a group of research subjects,
WANEE Vietnam can improve understanding children’s psychology and creating a
positive interactive environment with children, WANEE Vietnam can easily
communicate with, make activities more funny and impressive, catch up with many
children’s wonderful experiences through each nature tour.
Throughout the analysis of SWOT to specifically analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses,
Challenges, and Opportunities of Educational Tours to have more basis for
recommending effective solutions that are suitable for the recent problem, supporting
WANEE Vietnam in recognizing the problem, thereby improving quality and creating
many interesting and attractive activities for children in the near future.
This internship report was conducted during the process of finishing the internship as a
Nature Guide intern at WANEE Vietnam Company Limited. Honestly, the author
hopes that current research and recommendations will be improved better in the future.
