Objectives/ Agenda:
To promote the love for reading and to celebrate English Month 2023
embracing the diversity of learners and culture through reading and to show
support for the program of the Department of Education for the nationwide
celebration of the 2023 National Book Week..
To promote the second language for better understanding of different literature.
To appreciates the importance of English as a second language
To develop one’s confidence and creativity through presentation.
Preliminaries:
Members of the English Club together with the English Club Advisers were
having a meeting to consolidate some ideas about what particular activity to do.
Highlights:
In the DepEd Monthly Celebrations, the month of November is regarded as the
English Month and the celebration of the National Book Week. Public schools
nationwide celebrate the month, most basically, in the same ways. They have opening
and closing programs, a parade and various competitions using the English language at
certain. Like most schools, Liloan Central School conducted an English Month
Culmination Program and the National Book Week Celebration on the 28th of
November 2023.
It was just an austere celebration participated by the pupils .The opening
program started at two o’clock in the afternoon with an opening prayer, followed by the
National Song, Division Hymn and Liloan Hymn. Then, Mrs. Clarissa D. Lasaga, the
school principal made a welcome greetings at the same time the formal opening of the
English Month Celebration for everyone. A parade of the learners favorite book
character followed. After that, was the proclamation of the best book character costume
by grade level. Winners were given certificate of recognition. The program did not end
there because literary and musical presentations followed. Learners showcased their
talents and abilities in the different categories like singing, dancing, reciting a poem,
declamation, oration and jazz chant. The last but not the least is the awarding of
winners for the different English activities conducted in the classrooms like Draw and
Tell for Kindergarten, Configuration Clues for Grades 1&2, Anagram for Grades 3&4,
Spelling Bee for Grade 5 and Quiz Bee for Grade
6. Enjoyment of the entire event was evident on the pupils’ faces as well as their active
participation in the program. It was really an instructive and edifying event for the part
of the pupils and the teachers as well.

Objectives/ Agenda:
At the end of the orientation, participants are expected to have a deep understanding
on the:
A. rationale and fundamentals of the "Catch-up Fridays";
B. critical considerations i operationalizing "Catch-up Fridays"; and
C. ways on how to effectively integrate different learning areas in "Catch-up
Fridays".
Preliminaries:
The proponent of the activity and the Technical Working Group convened to
consolidate some ideas about the activity
Highlights:
The School LAC Session on the Implementation of Catch-up Fridays started 5
minutes before 3:00PM with an Opening Program. Shortly after the preliminaries, Mrs.
Mevah J. Espina, MT-1 tackled the first topic- Orientation of Catch-up Fridays,
followed by Mrs. Abegail L. Postrano whose topic was Crafting of Lesson Guides for
Catch-Up Fridays.
During the orientation, the objectives, schedules, and activities planned for
Catch-Up Fridays were elucidated. Teachers discussed individualized learning plans
tailored to each student’s needs and provided resources to support home-based
learning.
The participants were engaged in making their own session guide to be used
every Friday. They also made a class program for Catch-Up Fridays.
Indeed, the orientation marked a successful start to this initiative. With a strong
foundation laid through comprehensive planning, dedicated educators, and active
participation from students and parents, the program is poised to make a positive
impact on the academic journey of the students throughout the academic year.
