I. Introduction
The need for an efficient and automated solution to protect and release clothes
based on weather conditions has become increasingly essential. This thesis presents
the design and development of the Silong Agad clothes hanger system, an intelligent
solution that offers automated protection and release of clothes tailored to weather
conditions.
The Silong Agad clothes hanger system revolutionizes clothing management by
incorporating advanced features and technologies. Traditional clothes hangers lack the
ability to adapt to changing weather conditions, leaving garments vulnerable to rain,
excessive sunlight, or other environmental factors. The Silong Agad system addresses
this challenge through its incorporation of a rain sensor. This sensor detects rain and
triggers the system to retract the clothes inside, providing immediate protection from
moisture.
A trustworthy rain sensor can offer crucial data for decision-making, ensuring effective
water management, and enhancing safety protocols during harsh weather. Existing rain
sensors on the market often come at a cost, including high energy usage and
complicated set-ups. In response to these challenges, we introduce a new solution with
the creation of the Rain Censor, an advanced rain detection prototype with an
integrated power supply. It can provide 220V optimized power consumption and send
immediate alerts when rain is detected. Furthermore, researchers have enhanced the
Rain Censor with a thermal sensor module. This addition allows for the measurement of
ambient temperature, which can play a crucial role in understanding weather conditions

and refining the accuracy of rain detection. This integration makes the Rain Censor a
more comprehensive tool for weather monitoring and water management, providing a
more reliable and efficient solution for all users.
II. Literature Survey
The study focuses on creating an automated outdoor clothesline system using
various sensors, hardware, and software. The Arduino Uno R3 is used as the main
control unit, while TinkerCAD is utilized for prototyping and design. The system consists
of components such as the Arduino Uno R3, humidity sensor, LDR sensor, rain sensor,
and servo motor. These components work together to manipulate input and control the
movement of the clothesline. The humidity sensor detects humidity and temperature,
the rain sensor detects raindrops, and the LDR sensor detects light intensity. The LCD
display is used for monitoring and displaying the data obtained from the sensors. The
success of the project is attributed to the effective utilization of the Arduino Uno R3 as
the main component, achieving the objectives of developing a prototype, monitoring and
controlling humidity, light intensity, and raindrops, and displaying the system output on
an LCD.1

Surveys are crucial in this project as they allow researchers to analyze existing
clothesline products available in the market. However, the survey revealed several
shortcomings in these products. For instance, popular options like the Clever
Clothesline, Versaline Clothesline T-Poles, and umbrella clotheslines require manual
operation and lack automatic features. Additionally, since the focus of this study is on
apartment houses, it was observed that individuals predominantly use the Clever
Clothesline and Versaline Clothesline. Unfortunately, these traditional clotheslines must
also be operated manually, and if it rains while no one is home, the clothes are prone to
getting wet, rendering the products ineffective. To address these limitations, the
researchers decided to innovate the clothesline by incorporating an automated system
that eliminates the need for manual operation and includes a rain sensor. This system,
known as the Silong Agad Clothesline, utilizes a water sensor to detect rainwater. When
the water sensor does not detect rain, the motor rotates clockwise, pulling out the
clotheslines automatically.2

The research objectives for the "Silong Agad: Clothes Hanger System for Automated
Protection and Release of Clothes Based on Weather Conditions" encompass a wide
range of areas. Firstly, it is crucial to investigate existing weather detection technologies
in order to identify the most suitable sensors for accurately detecting rain, wetness,
heat, and sunlight. This will serve as the foundation for developing an intelligent
algorithm that can analyze weather data from the sensors and make informed decisions
regarding the protection and release of clothes. Additionally, the mechanical
components of the clothes hanger system need to be designed and optimized to ensure
smooth and reliable operation during the protection and release processes. Exploring
different materials and coatings that can enhance the durability and weather resistance
of the system is also essential. Energy efficiency is another important aspect to
consider. Evaluating the system's energy consumption and finding ways to minimize
power usage while maintaining optimal performance will contribute to its sustainability.
To ensure a user-friendly experience, conducting user studies will be necessary. These
studies will assess the usability and user experience of the Silong Agad system,
gathering feedback to improve its design and functionality. Furthermore, exploring
potential integration with smart home systems or other IoT devices can enhance the
overall functionality and convenience of the clothes hanger system. Lastly, analyzing
the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of implementing the Silong Agad system in
different settings, such as residential homes, apartments, or commercial laundry
facilities, will provide insights into its practicality and potential impact on the market. By
addressing these research objectives, a comprehensive exploration of the Silong Agad

system will be achieved, covering various aspects of its design, functionality, usability,
and practicality.
IV. Methodology
In order for the ACR System to function effectively, it is crucial to ensure that all
components are properly coded and able to communicate and work together
seamlessly. Each component has its own specific code and position on the board.
Additionally, the positioning of the wiring is an important aspect to consider, as it greatly
impacts the system's functionality. There are several components that require coding,
including the Light-Dependent Resistor (LDR), Humidity Sensor (DHT22), and DC
motor. The LDR is responsible for detecting the surrounding light to determine whether
it is day or night. This information is used to decide whether the system should be
activated or deactivated during nighttime. The code for the LDR focuses on the
connection between the LED and the LDR, which informs the user about the current
time of day. The Humidity Sensor plays a role in determining the weather conditions,
specifically whether it is raining or sunny. The code for this component focuses on
reading the humidity percentage and temperature in Celsius. The collected data is then
displayed to the user. The DC motor is essential for the movement of the clothesline
within the covered area. In this project, two Micro Servos are required to ensure a stable
clothesline. The code for the DC motor ensures that it moves simultaneously when the
humidity and LDR values reach a predetermined threshold. Overall, the proper coding
of these components is crucial for the effective functioning of the ACR System, allowing
for seamless communication and coordination between them.

algorithm analyzes weather data to make informed decisions about clothes protection
and release based on specific weather conditions. In terms of operation, the system
should be designed for smooth and reliable performance, ensuring seamless
functioning of mechanical components without any malfunctions or interruptions for a
hassle-free user experience. Durability and weather resistance are also crucial factors,
requiring the use of robust materials and coatings that can withstand various weather
conditions and protect clothes from damage. Energy efficiency is another important
consideration, aiming to minimize power consumption while maintaining optimal
performance through the implementation of energy-saving mechanisms and
technologies. A user-friendly experience is essential, with intuitive controls and
interfaces that allow users to interact easily with the system and customize settings
according to their preferences, enhancing convenience and usability. Lastly, the system
should possess integration and compatibility capabilities, enabling it to seamlessly
integrate with other smart home systems or IoT devices, expanding its functionality and
