OBJECTIVES (CIVIC LITERACY)

Knowledge : Explain the diverse heritage of religion, ethnicity, culture, and language in Malaysia
Socioemotional : Express respect for the diversity in religion, ethnicity, culture and language in Malaysia
Action : Practise respect for the diverse heritage of religion, ethnicity, culture, and language in Malaysia

1. Display a picture on the board.


I. PRE-LESSON
2. Pupils talk about the picture.
3. Teacher shows pictures of a variety of food.
4. Pupils name the food and which culture do they belong to.
5. In groups, pupils name other traditional food that they know.
II. Activity 1
6. Pupils write their ideas to create a circle map on manila cards.
7. Groups display their work around the classroom.
8. Pupils do a gallery walk.

9. Pupils give thumbs up or down to show their respect as teacher reads the statements.
III. Activity 2
(refer to Appendix 1)

10. Pupils get into groups.


11. Teacher gives a situation to each group.
12. Groups decided on the food to be served and appropriate clothes to wear.
IV. Activity 3
13. Groups discuss and present their views.
Situation: a. Ahmad is vising Chong Wei.
b. Raju is visiting Ani.
V. POST LESSON 14. Summarize the lesson by telling pupils to respect other cultures.
