Shooting script

INT- Room Morning 11am

Shot opens with Rooh playing cat’s cradle sitting on a mat next to a window. Sounds of
the windchime heard in the background.
Camera pans to top view

INT - Room Morning 11am

POV Camera as the soft board facing Lehnu Chacha. Shot is slightly blurry. Lehnu’s
hands emerge which start pinning up the sheets with the red threads. Lehnu is still out
of focus, his hands and thread are in focus.
Camera pans (180) across his room and stops at a closeup of his right shoulder.
Caretaker walks in and places hand on Lehnu’s shoulder, Lehnu turns to him.
Cut shot, camera faces both of them, big close up. Lehnu looks confused, the caretaker
hands him the pills. Lehnu looks at the caretaker in confusion and looks down at the
pills. Cut shot extreme close up of the pills which say Alzheimer's disease.

INT - Room Morning 11:20

Lehnu walks out of the frame. Camera pans to his desk where he is already sitting. He
picks up a glass of water, while drinking it his attention is caught abruptly by the clock
on the opposite wall. Camera pans to an extreme close up of the clock that reads
11:30am. Cut shot to the low level angle of Lehnu. Lehnu looks around searching for his
bag, gets up while searching for it.
Cut shot to camera looking at the room facing the back of the door which has a lot of
stuff hung up on the hooks along with his bag. Lehnu walks into frame, picks up his bag
and walks out of the door.

EXT- Outside Home Early Afternoon 11:45

Medium long shot of the door, as Lehnu walks out and the caretaker closes the door
behind him.
EXT - Outside Early Afternoon 11:45

Extreme long shot taken from the vegetable stall of Lehnu crossing the road towards the
stall. Walk past the camera.
Diagonal close up shot of Lehnu. He points at the potatoes.
Cut shot, Close up shot of the weighing scale with the potatoes kept on it. The weighing
measure 1Kg. Camera blurs the weighing scale and focuses on the chalk board behind
which mentions the prices (1Kg = 50Rs.)
Cut shot, Medium shot of Lehnu handing over 100 Rs to the vendor. Lehnu, not
remembering to collect change, walks away from the stall while the vendor grabs a 50
Rs note and hands it towards Lehnu, but notices he has already walked.

EXT- Outside Home Afternoon 12:15

Long Medium shot (neck to feet) of Lehnu reaching his home and opening the door as
he removes his chappals beside the doorstep.

INT - Home Afternoon 12:15

Cut shot, Top view shot of him placing the potatoes on the table, looking towards the
side, to a basket kept nearby, only to find out he already had gotten potatoes the day
before.

INT - Room Afternoon 12:20

Cut shot, Long shot, kept on the corner, Lehnu walks into his room. He’s walking around
without any certain aim.
Cut shot, medium shot from the side, Sits down on his desk and picks up his
sketchbook. He flips through the sheets and stops at a blank page.
Cut shot, Closeup, top view, diagonal shot of Lehnu sketching in his book. He starts
sketching a cartoon character. He’s struggling to properly hold the pencil and he keeps
drawing over the same lines again and again trying to perfect them.
Cut shot, Close up Lehnu’s frustration. Struggling to steady the pencil, he obsessively
traces and retraces the lines, each stroke an attempt at elusive perfection. Frustration
mounts, and with a sigh, he crumples and throws the drawing papers (which gets
dissolved in the white space).
INT - White Space
Three quick cut shots of certain parts of his room turning white, extreme close up.
Cut shot, close up of his arms. He still tries to continue drawing. Camera Zooms out, In
his haste, he accidentally knocks a book from the table – a book filled with loose
sheets. Pans to papers falling
Cut shot, medium shot As he goes to collect the sheets, He sits down and starts looking
at the drawings. He stops at a random page.
Cut shot, medium close up which has a drawing of a girl dancing, ghungroos, her face,
etc. Cut shot, close of his face. His face looks puzzled, but his thoughts are too
muddled. Cut shot, long shot, piecing them together. Suddenly the doorbell rings, and
he hears the sound of ghungroos slowly emerging (The white space snaps out while the
sound of ghungroos increases and fills up the entire room). Zoom out.
Slow zoom in onto Lehnu as he’s sifting through the sheets and gradually becoming
more and more impatient. Camera comes to a halt and stops as he reaches the bottom
of the pile which has sheets full of sketches of Rooh dancing.
Cut shot bottom shot when he has a moment of realization that the drawings in front of
him are of his granddaughter and that he’s been drawing the people he’s made
connections with over the years.
Cut shot blurry flashback a young Rooh twirling around, dancing with her ghungroos on.
Jump cut shot to the sketches which are moving parallelly to the girl twirling and doing
the same steps.
