merely a matter of time management. It is also a growing concern regardingattention

concluded that playingmobile legendary games has no substantial association with the
academic success of respondents.Players or students who spend the majority of their
time playing mobile legends are unable tocomplete their daily chores and are
developing an addiction to the game. This studydemonstrates that when a person

conversation with his social surroundings. The effect of online gameaddiction on
students' academic performance is that they become sluggish about
completinghomework, have low grades, are less enthusiastic in the morning, and are
occasionallyemotionally affected. According to Gilbert's research, the game becomes
extremely influentialwhen utilized unilaterally. This means that it is not balanced by
beneficial activities, so ithas exclusively negative effects on students. Students have a
high level of educational capacity, but if a game interferes with the main task, this has a
negative impact on their drive to learn.

The goal of this study is to determine the impact Mobile Legend has on the
academic performanceofstudents who are so attached to the game. Some students are
so addicted to mobile legends that they donotcare if something terrible occurs outside
because they just want to play the play Mobile Legends duringtheschool day may result
in poor grades and academic performance. game. Due to this game, some
parentsbecome irritated or furious with their child. Their child's desire to Mobile
Legends has numerous harmfulconsequences for students who play. Conceptual

the Problem This study aims to examine the effects of mobile legends to the academic
performance among theGrade 9 students of Dapitan City National High School Larayan
Extension during the academic year2022-2023.

This study seeks to answer the following questions:

1.What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of: 3.1 age; 3.2 sex; 3.3
no. of hours playing;

2.What is the academic performance of the respondents in terms of: 3.1 WA: 3.2 class
participation:

3.Is there a significant relationship between the profile of the students and their
academicperformance? Null Hypothesis This study is tested at 0.05 level of
significanceHO1.There is no significant difference in the academic performance of the
students when grouped todemographic profiles.HO2.There is no significant relationship
between mobile legends and the academic performance of thegrade 9 students of
Larayan Extension. Significance of the Study This study is conducted to benefit the
following:

Parents Parents will be able to demonstrate the importance of using the Internet and
reading books.

School Administrator This includes establishing academic policies, controlling the

budget and financial administration, and supervising faculty and staff.
Students This work could serve as a guide and reference for students conducting
comparable research.

Teachers The study also demonstrates the value of teachers. This provides a guide for
how teachers should approach the issue of classroom overcrowding. CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURES AND STUDIES

This chapter contains thoughts, opinions, research, findings, generalizations, published

or

unpublished theories, and debates on related literature and studies, which provide
pertinently information about the consequences of online gaming on students'
academic performance.

Online Gaming Affects Academic Performance Students' Academic

Performance is unaffected by their participation in internet gaming. Their grades are
sufficient despite the fact that they play internet games. Their grades are sufficient
despite the fact that they spend time playing. In conclusion, the pupils' academic
achievement is strong despite their participation in online gaming. The researchers did a
study detailing and revealing the experiences of two junior high school students that
played mobile legend frequently, as well as the effect of their addiction on learning
module completion and submission. This study also used a judgmental sampling
technique, which qualified the two particles among a large proportion of individuals
who meet the standards due to the considerable changes in their academic
performance caused by excessive Mobile Legends play. Synthesis This study
aimed to assess the influence of mobile legends game addiction on
students' willingness to learn, as well as the involvement of parents and teachers. It is
hoped that the findings of this study will serve as fundamental references and
considerations for future researchers in other research areas whose subject matter is
pertinent to this study. The study's data was examined utilizing data reduction, data
display, and conclusion drafting.

Significant and favorable connections were discovered between online gaming

addiction and mental health factors, notably depression, anxiety, and loneliness. Based
on the tested social cognitive theory, all proposed hypotheses were validated. Future
research should evaluate the effects of online gaming addiction on academic
achievement and physical health, according to this study. In this study, the researcher
employed the approach of judgmental sampling, which qualified two of the
many participants that satisfied the criteria due to the considerable changes in their
academic performance caused by excessive Mobile Legends play.
CHAPTER 3 RESEARCH MYTHODOLOGY
This chapter discusses the study's research methodology, the research
approach, and design, the sampling technique, the research instrument, and the data
collection procedure that will be used for accurate data analysis and interpretation.

Research Design Since this study aims to the effects of playing mobile legends(ML)
on academic performance, it is appropriate to use design in collecting data to describe
the lived experiences or structures of experience, as they present themselves to
consciousness without opinions, were unraveled that would help dig deeper into the
problem. This study is based on where data are used to examine the perceived effects of
mobile legends on the respondents.

Research Environment The environment of the study in Dapitan City National

High School Larayan Extension, is ofthe secondary schools under the Division of Dapitan
City. It all started its operation in 997 and it had a continuously growing population
since then. With the emergence of the High School Department, the school is now
composed of 13 teachers in each room. Grades 7,8,9,10 make up four grade levels
that make up the Larayan Extension, and each has just one section. We will conduct a
survey of the Grade 9 students, which have 41 students but only 38 will survey according
to the solvent's formula.
