Rainfall Data Analysis

1. The annual rainfall data from 25 years at a station was analyzed. A curve of recurrence interval vs annual rainfall was plotted and interpolated to estimate rainfall for recurrence intervals of 50 and 100 years. 2. Annual rainfall data from 20 years at station P was given. The assignment was to determine the annual rainfall for a 15 year recurrence interval, the probability of 100cm rainfall, and the 75% dependable annual rainfall.

1. The record of annual rainfall at a place is available for 25 years. Plot the curve of recurrence
interval vs annual rainfall magnitude and by suitable interpolation, estimate the magnitude of
rainfall at the station that would correspond to a recurrence interval (a) 50 years (b) 100 years.
