I’m going to have 6 months in your country to study Vietnamese at Vietnam National
University in Hanoi. I’m very excited about this trip. I’m wondering where I should
stay so that I can learn more Vietnamese besides class time. Can you tell me where I
can play sports? I’m also thinking about a part-time job I can do to have more
practice of the language. Can you give me some advice?

Concerning the accommodation, if I were you, I would stay in the school dormitory
due to its convenient location on campus, facilitating easy access to lecture halls and
participation in school activities. Moreover, the renting cost is quite
affordable/reasonable, therefore it helps you to save living expenses. Finally, the hostel
will a great learning environment for you to speak Vietnamese every day with your
friends so that your Vietnamese skills can be improved remarkably.
It would be great if you could play several sports such as volleyball, basketball,
football, … in the school stadium. Additionally, there is a fitness center which is
located near our university. You should sign up in classes there or take part in sport
clubs, such as yoga, dancing, kickboxing, and so on. I think/suppose that playing
sports not only enhances your mental and physical health but also provides a fantastic
opportunity to make new friends/broaden your relationship.
About the part-time/temporary job, why don’t you work as an English teacher in a
center near our university? This opportunity allows you to interact with many
Vietnamese students to improve/enhance social skills such as communication, time
management skill, …. Besides, you can also extend social relationship and find more
about our local culture and tradition. I think that working part time enables you to earn
a sum of money and become more financially independent.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a T-shirt which I bought from your
shop.
Because of attractive advertisement on the website, I decided to buy a T-shirt from
your shop on the 10th May. However, when I received this product at home, I felt
extremely disappointed with the quality of the product.
When I tried to use this T-shirt at home, I noticed that it had some serious problems.
The first problem is that the product I got is faulty one and it is far different from what
I saw on the website. The cloth material and patterns of the T-shirt only have a few
similarities in comparison with the product you suggested me. In addition to, while I
ordered a medium T-shirt with blue colour, the shop delivered to me a large shirt with
black colour.
I will not demand a refund but please arrange for a replacement of this product at the
earliest. I hope that this problem will be solved promptly.

I am writing to request your permission to attend a training course.
I would like to attend an English course in the ABC center, which is located on
Nguyen Trai street. The course aims to provide learners with some necessary
knowledge about communication skill, and work with foreigners, serve foreign affairs
and cooperate with foreign companies and so on. It enables learners to improve me
communicating with my foreign customers, time management, presentation skills. I
realize that it’s really essential for me as well as our company at this moment. I have to
attend the class about three times a week.
This course allows me to work with some foreign experts in our company. It makes it
possible for me to communicate with customers more effectively. After finishing the
course, I am able to read some English documents related to my work to broaden my
knowledge.
I would be grateful if the company could support a part of my tuition fee. I would

It is a two-month course delivered by Language Link Center. It starts on June 2nd and

As a teacher at Kindergarten, I need to have an English Certificate under the regulation
of the Ministry of Education. Moreover, it is very useful for me to improve my English
reading skills so that I can read more English documents on Early Childhood

 Dear Mr. Kim Neeraj,

I am writing to request your permission for me to move into a new

accommodation next term, preferably in a single room as I find my current
accommodation arrangement quite inconvenient.

I am living with a classmate in the dormitory, and unfortunately, our living

situation has become challenging. My roommate constantly enjoys holding
exciting parties and inviting friends into our room. Last week, he organized a
birthday party by inviting all the relatives and close friends to come to the room,
which often lasted until midnight or early morning. It was such a noisy party
that I could not concentrate on my study, complete my home assignment and
interrupt my studies.

Moreover, the issue extends beyond just occasional parties. My roommate

has a habit of borrowing my books and clothes without seeking permission. A
few days ago he took a book from my desk and lost it which I borrowed from
the college library. Despite my efforts to talk with her about this issue, she has
not shown any willingness to change her behavior.
