1. General Information
Due to a focus level shift of the CCD-chip of some CCD-cameras (mostly on the
1493-442 types), this camera has been modified to a camera exchange kit with
different bases. The kit also contains shim rings to cover all know focus-levels of the
previous generations.
See Bulletin 560 for further information.
The kit is fully backward compatible for all IOLMaster generations, containing Digital-
IOL PCBs with camera operating voltage of 9V. It is not compatible if Digital-IOL PCBs
with a camera operating voltage of 8V are used. In this case the related Digital-IOL
PCB must also be exchanged.
See Bulletin 448 for further information.
Note!
The new camera-module needs a different adjustment
voltage – see chapter 4 at page 4 (Adjusting the sensitivity).

4. Adjusting the sensitivity
Adjust the R75 potentiometer at the Digital-IOL PCB in such a way, that a voltage of
NEW: 2.9V ± 0.3V (OLD: +3.4V ± 0.5V) is present between the GND and the potentiometer
slider contact (middle contact). Use a calibrated multimeter.
2.9 V
Caution!
The operating voltage (8V / 9V) is not adjustable and depends upon
the hardware-version of the Digital-IOL PCB.
The new type of CCD camera module is only compatible with the
9V version of the Digital-IOL PCB. You cannot use the new camera-
module with an 8V version of the Digital-IOL PCB, even if it the
image looks good. In this case the camera is not within
specification, and this may lead to incorrect readings of the image
analysing software, which could influence the KER, ACD and WTW
results.
Note!
See Bulletin 448 regarding further information of 8V / 9V
determination of Digital-IOL PCB.
See Bulletins 292 and 305 regarding further information about
determination version 1 (1031-843) and version 2 (1078-792)
Digital-IOL PCB.
Caution!
After replacement of the camera module it will be necessary to
perform the adjustment of the surrounding field illumination (R86)
and the Keratometer-illumination (R87) potentiometers on the
Digital I/O PCB.
If the IOLMaster is equipped with Software 5.02 or higher, also the
spot-size calibration (50….55) of the Keratometer-spots must be
readjusted.
See Bulletin 510 for the related procedure.
Also a re-calibration of the KER, ACD and WTW might be
necessary if the measurement results (of the test-eye) are not
within the imprinted tolerances.
See service-manual for the related procedures and further
information.

Some boards may have the version 1 number
imprinted but are configured as version 2.
