C. Abstraction & Generalization
The activity will teach and demonstrate how to learn new things and
broaden one's understanding of healthful and less healthful foods.

Healthy foods are good for your body, and they help you grow and
become strong. Unhealthy foods are bad for your body, and they might give you
a tummy ache or harm your teeth if you eat too much. Foods that are healthy are
nutritious. These foods are beneficial. Your body needs these nutrients. They
help you become strong and healthy. Different types of nutrients are present in
the meals you eat. Carbohydrates are abundant in "go foods" or "energy-giving
foods." Grown foods are rich in proteins. Body-regulating foods, also known as
glow foods, give your body vitamins and minerals. Every day, you should eat a
variety of meals from several dietary groups. Less healthful foods are those you
should eat in very small amounts. They do not give the body much-needed
nutrients. Avoid sugary sodas, refined carbohydrates, and "junk" food. They have
excessive amounts of salt, sugar, and food additives. You will become sick if you
consume too many of these unhealthy foods. Your body weakens throughout
time, making it less resistive to disease.

I. The teacher will define the following terms:

Food Unhealthy Child Unhealthful Foods

Healthy Child Healthful Foods

II. A different healthful and less healthful food will be presented on the
screen by the teacher, and the student will be asked to check ( ) if
the food is healthful food and put (x) if the food is less healthful.
