TEST DATA SHEET

Project Name: Avery Dennison T-6500 Series High Intensity Performance

Retroreflective Sheeting (Type III/IV)
6.2 Coefficient of Retroreflection

Requirement: ASTM D4956 Tables 4 & 5 (Type III & IV Sheeting)

Test Method: ASTM E810 - Test Distance 100 feet (30.5 m)
Entrance angle = β1. β2 = 0. Observation Angle = α
Projector: Hoffman GPS-102 (Illuminant A, 1.0 fc, 30 in. diameter)
Sample Area: 8.0 in. x 8.0 in., 0.444 ft² (203 mm x 203 mm, 0.0412 m²)

Sheeting specimens mounted to 0.040 in. thick x 8 in. x 8 in. 6061-T6

aluminum panels by CCITL.

Coefficient of Retroreflection (RA) determined by measuring three samples

at two rotation angles (ε=0° and ε=90°) and averaging. Sheeting has no
datum mark to indicate ε=0°.

ε=0° arbitrarily defined as orientation with sheeting square edges

horizontal/perpendicular to projector/detector half-plane (see photos).

Tested in accordance to ASTM E810 10.7.1 - since there is no datum mark

the average of the two orientations (ε=0° and ε=90°) is required to meet
minimum requirements.

Avery Dennison states sampling performed in accordance with D4956 Section

9.1. Samples taken from submitted specimens labeled "1:1", "2:2", and
"3:3" by Avery Dennison.

Units: Candela per footcandle per square foot (Candela per Lux per square meter)
