6. In the house of 20 people, 8 like Ampesi, 12 like Banku and 12 liked Fufu. 5 liked both Ampesi and
Fufu, 2 like only Ampesi and 3 like all three types of food.
(a) Illustrate the information on a Venn diagram
(b) Find the number of people in the house who liked;
i. only fufu
ii. exactly two types of food.
iii. only one type of food.

7. (a) Copy and complete the table below for the relation 𝑦 = 7 − 5𝑥 − 2𝑥 2 for −4 ≤ 𝑥 ≤ 2

8. The table below gives the frequency distribution of marks obtained by a number of students in a test.

9. (a) Using a scale of 2 cm to 2 units on both axes, draw on a sheet of graph paper, two perpendicular
axes 𝑜𝑥 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑦 for the intervals −10 ≤ 𝑥 ≤ 10 𝑎𝑛𝑑 − 12 ≤ 𝑦 ≤ 12.
(b) Draw on the same graph, indicating clearly the coordinates of all vertices,
i. triangle ABC with A(6,9), B(4,4) and C(9,6);
ii. the image triangle 𝐴1 𝐵1 𝐶1 of triangle ABC under a reflection in the line 𝑦 = 1,
where 𝐴 → 𝐴1, B→ 𝐵1, C→ 𝐶1 .
iii. the image triangle 𝐴2 𝐵2 𝐶2 of triangle ABC under an anticlockwise rotation of 90°
about the origin, where A→ 𝐴2 , B→ 𝐵2 𝑎𝑛𝑑 C→ 𝐶2 .

11. (a)The 6th and 9th terms of a Geometric Progression (G.P) are 48 and 149 respectively. Find the:
i. common ratio
ii. first term.
(b) If 𝑝 varies directly as 𝑡 3 and 𝑝 = 9.6 when 𝑡 = 4 find 𝑡 when 𝑝 = 150

12. (a) The probabilities that Rebecca and Sarfoa will pass an examination are 60% and 80%
respectively. Find, correct to one decimal place the probability that;
i. only one of them will pass the examination;
ii. none of them will pass.
(b) Moses bought six books and ten pencils from Adom store. Debora bought three books and
twenty-two pencils of the same kind from that store. If each of them paid 𝐺𝐻 ⊄ 170.00 for the
item, find the cost of;
i. each pencil;
ii. each book;
iii. two books and four pencils.

13. (a) The function, 𝑓 is defined as 𝑓: 𝑥 → 𝑥 2 + 2 𝑥 :
i. Evaluate 𝑓(2).

(b) A linear function, 𝑓(𝑥) = 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏, where a and b are constants. If 𝑓(2) = 1 and 𝑓(4) = 3,
find 𝑓(𝑥).
