WHAT IS FIESTA?
It is given that Philippines has the most Fiesta Celebrations all over the world that is considered one of the
great influences of Spain that has taken root in our country.
Fiesta, although not originated in the Philippines became a unique tradition of every Filipino and became
part of the main culture and religious events in the country.
This time, l'll be sharing to you how Fiesta is being celebrated in our barangay and its other traditional
activities. But first, to make it clear to everyone let us first define What is a Fiesta? FIESTA is a religious
celebration by the Roman Catholic people in honor of a saint. That, festivities mostly coincide with the day
of the patron saint of a particular place. And each barangay has a fiesta which holds through for
municipalities and cities depending on the political subdivision in the Philippines.
Fiesta is also a special time with friends, reunions, fellowships, alumnis, unification of every family
member, foods and lots of activities.
Last June 27-28, our Barangay celebrated its annual Fiesta in honor of our patron saint Sagrada Familia
headed by an Hermana Mayor which was said to be the fiesta sponsor and encharge of all the expenses and
activities happening on that week prior to the main Fiesta Celebration.
INA: A crown is a traditional symbolic form of headgear worn by a monarch or by a deity. The
crown traditionally represents power, legitimacy, victory, triumph, honor, and glory, as well as
immortality, righteousness, and resurrection. Ladies and gentlemen, the Crowning! To do the
honor, may we request the Chairman, accompanied by their respective parents.
JAYD: Capes were common in medieval Europe, especially when combined with a hood in the
