Advancements ease user experience and help enterprises leverage AI/ML
Historically, artificial intelligence (AI) platforms have been used primarily by companies able to invest extensively in complex systems to get
an edge in their respective markets. For example, the financial services and telecommunications industries were early adopters of AI and
machine learning (ML) primarily because of their previous development of data networks and implementation of massive-scale computing.

Today, decisionmakers in those industries continue to seek solutions that can help them grow their businesses and reduce costs. If AI/ML
was solely the domain of specialized data scientists and unattainable by most IT organizations, it was at least partially due to the fact that
these workloads were run on complex, expensive, and difficult-to-design, optimize, and support infrastructures. Highly specialized teams of
engineers were required to create a functional environment for data scientists who generally had little or no knowledge of the underlying
platforms running the actual AI/ML workloads.

A major advancement from industry leaders HPE, VMware®, and NVIDIA® provides management tools, software, and hardware that eases
the user experience and allows enterprises who wish to leverage the advantages of AI/ML to deploy such functionality easily. Now customers
can run these AI/ML workloads in the core infrastructure with centrally managed IT instead of sprawling “peripheral” IT deployments:

Small businesses are getting an “edge” by building the edge
Data is on the move. By 2025, 75% of all data will be generated and/or processed at the edge. It means that even now, your organization’s
data footprint is heading from the data center to the cloud to the edge. If it’s not, you need to lace up your sneakers and give it a push.

Edge computing is the practice of processing data near the edge of the network where the data is being generated. It means you can make
faster, more informed decisions because you’re making sense of the data right where it’s captured. Right now, edge computing is being
accelerated by the 50+ billion devices gathering, transmitting, and analyzing an ever-expanding mass of data. Industries from retail to
healthcare to smart manufacturing are being fed an endless supply of information from edge devices like small temperature and pressure
sensors and high-resolution/high frame-rate cameras. It’s a priceless trove of insight that can translate into big benefits. But taking
advantage of those benefits requires unwinding data complexities and applying AI at the edge.

To meet today’s rate of change, you need that success rate to be much higher. And as we reinvent the way we work, the use cases only
grow. Organizations will need to automate, screen, and track health of employees and customers at all locations to ensure safety. IT support
will need to monitor key assets regardless of where they are. And automation will require intelligence at the edge to make sense of all data
that will begenerated/processedHow do you win at the edge? We’ll show you exactly how. Follow the steps in the below link to put the right
structure in place:

Introducing HPE Alletra: Flipping the switch to the cloud experience
Data is the fuel that powers better, and faster decisions, the kind needed to supercharge any business. But the question every organization
asks is: how best to harness data and manage infrastructure when it’s distributed across edge to core to cloud?

The reality is that with more data exploding everywhere means more complexity than ever before. Cloud has set the standard for agility
with on-demand access, resource elasticity, and charges for services based on actual usage. So much so, organizations crave the cloud
experience for all their applications and all their data wherever they live. While the cloud experience has made self-service possible, IT is still
wasting time fighting fires and dealing with disruptions. That’s where AI comes in. Just like how AI is enabling self-driving automobiles, it
also holds the potential to put data infrastructure on auto-pilot and make IT invisible. By understanding a roads twists and turns, AI can
predict and prevent problems before they happen.

This is why we are so excited to introduce the world to HPE Alletra, a portfolio of cloud-native data infrastructure solutions designed to
power all your data, from edge to cloud. HPE Alletra is powered by Data Services Cloud Console, for a cloud operating and consumption
experience wherever data lives. For the first time, you can get the same agility, the same simplicity, and the same cloud consumption for
every single app, and across each app’s lifecycle:

Protect your most valuable currency. Data protection with HPE and Veeam
In the digital age, data is your most valuable currency. Obviously your data needs to be available and secure wherever and whenever you
need it, and I’m certain your organization is already taking measures to ensure its protection: backing up data to secondary targets, or using
primary storage to replicate VMs and other data from one site to another. In today’s threat landscape you need to do more.

Ransomware attacks are on the rise. Hackers attack every 39 seconds (an average of 2,244 times a day!), and no business or industry is
immune. Small to medium businesses, large global enterprises, retail businesses, schools, hospitals, even governments are being targeted
every day. The most recent major incident in the United States was the ransomware attack on the systems of Colonial Pipeline that led the
company to shut down their pipeline from Texas to New Jersey, impacting fuel supply in the country.

As many as 50% of organizations don’t believe they are ready to withstand an attack, and the potential impact to business can be
devastating. Cybercriminals lock users out of their own systems, demanding exorbitant payment in bitcoins or gift cards. According to one
source, ransom demands in the millions of dollars are not uncommon (Beazley Group, 2020). What’s worse, there is no guarantee your
organization will regain access to data if you do pay the ransom.

You can take action today, not only to defend your business against these malicious attacks, but also to ensure that your data is always
available and accessible. Given the right data protection solution, you can reduce the risk of data loss, meet your recovery SLAs, and prevent
the financial or reputational costs that can be crippling to your business. With over a decade of technology partnership, HPE and Veeam
offer truly simple data protection, allowing you to rapidly recover data at its most granular level, especially in virtualized environments:

Increase business-critical database performance with HPE All-NVMe Storage

SQL Server is still dominant within the established relational database management market. This is despite hype regarding NoSQL and other
new types of databases. Traditional RDBMS is still leading in terms of familiarity, installed based, and spending. And Microsoft SQL Server
remains a leader in that space. Closer to home, we see SQL Server as our #1 workload on both the HPE 3PAR Storage and HPE Nimble
Storage installed bases after only VMware VMs. On HPE Nimble Storage, SQL Server alone occupies more storage arrays than Oracle®, Citrix,
DB2, SAS, MySQL and Splunk combined!

The newest version of the database system, SQL Server 2019, presents new opportunities for savings with features like ‘Big Data Clusters’.
But also new areas of complexity for some IT teams including running within containers, Kubernetes container management, having built-in
Apache Spark, the PolyBase feature, and the potential to use it within a data lake or platform for AI/ML. The implication for customers is that
new deployments can vary widely by usage (OLTP, OLAP, etc.) and there’s a need for the underlying Infrastructure to be optimized based
on the use objective (performance, capacity, availability, cost, etc.). Customers should seek out guidance related to the targeted solution to
ensure deployment success. Regardless of your version of SQL Server, you will realize new levels of performance with the latest SQL Server
on our newest HPE All-NVMe Storage:

It’s time for a new data vision — and a new architecture
Not a day goes by that we don’t come across a business article discussing the benefits of data and its ability to transform organizations. We
read about a new world of possibilities, with data ushering in new customer experiences and powering the next wave of applications that will
connect data to insights and to outcomes. But the realities of where organizations are today, and where they want to go, are far from the
same.

What stands in the way of innovation is complexity. Complexity that spans across people, process, and technology rooted in how data and
data infrastructure are managed. ESG recently completed a study that found organizations on average rely on 23 different data
management tools! That’s an overwhelming amount of disparate hardware and software (not to mention the people silos) needed to
manage the lifecycle of data and data infrastructure from how data is accessed, protected, governed, and analyzed to how infrastructure is
deployed, provisioned, replicated, upgraded, and mobilized.

For the past 18 months, we have been at work on a new vision that reimagines data and infrastructure management. A vision that drives
agility and innovation. A vision that spans across clouds and empowers organizations. It’s a vision for a new data experience that we call
Unified DataOps. Unified DataOps upends conventional approaches to help organizations accelerate their data-driven transformation
creating value for everyone from IT managers to data innovators. Imagine, instead of tuning and maintaining infrastructure, IT managers
simply deploy cloud services with instant application provisioning. Instead of waiting days to access data, developers and data scientists get
streamlined access on-demand. Instead of worrying about threats to data, data managers can set protection policies with a single-click
wherever data lives:

HPE CSI Driver for Kubernetes: A glimpse into the future
Containers have transformed how modern applications are developed, packaged, and deployed. As we look to the future of container
adoption, we take the opportunity to pause and reflect on how Hewlett Packard Enterprise has enabled customers to bring their applications
to life through Kubernetes - using the HPE CSI Driver for Kubernetes to deliver persistent storage for both modern and legacy applications.
This has been key to driving adoption of cloud native patterns in their business operations.

With the HPE CSI Driver, HPE has helped reduced the complexity of enabling persistent storage for cloud native applications running on
Kubernetes, while delivering increased application performance and reliability through the storage data management capabilities found in
the HPE Primera, HPE Nimble, and HPE 3PAR storage platforms. Customers are able to improve their test/dev cycles and meet application
needs – which leads to higher quality application release cycles and higher reliability – by dynamically provisioning, customizing and
protecting storage through the HPE CSI Driver. Having a vision for the future of data management is critical to reduce the complexity of
managing a hybrid datacenter while leveraging the flexibility of the cloud. Our technology partners are another key component of our overall
strategy. HPE is committed to working with both technology partners and the open-source community to continue to complement our own
software innovations:

Debunk the myth that a single technology can address all the storage needs of businesses
A popular misconception when talking about storage, is that businesses need to choose only one storage option. It is much more beneficial
to use tape, disk, and cloud together to combine all their functionalities and have optimal and secure solutions. Cloud providers are the first
to use tape to assist them with archiving data, adding a layer of security with off-line storage: incorporating tape in cloud-based archives will
result in safer and more cost-effective solutions. To learn more on how to create the most cost-effective solutions for data protection and
disaster recovery, read the full article in the below link:

Networking
Aruba Introduces Industry’s First Enterprise-Grade Wi-Fi 6E Solution
Aruba has announced the market’s first enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 6E solution set – the 630 Series of campus access points (APs), starting with
the AP-635. The latest innovation in Wi-Fi technology, Wi-Fi 6E refers to Wi-Fi devices that operate in the 6 GHz band, which was – in the
largest expansion of Wi-Fi capacity in nearly two decades – opened up in April 2020 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for
unlicensed use in the United States. Opening the 6 GHz band more than doubles the amount of RF spectrum available for Wi-Fi use,
allowing for less congested airwaves, broader channels, and higher-speed connections and enabling a range of innovations across industries.
Since the FCC decision to open the 6 GHz band, 39 additional countries that are home to over 1.3 billion people have opened the 6 GHz
unlicensed band for Wi-Fi 6E. (Source: Wi-Fi Alliance).

The new Aruba Wi-Fi 6E solutions are part of Aruba ESP (Edge Services Platform), the industry’s first AI-powered, cloud-native platform
designed to unify, automate, and secure the Edge. Able to predict and resolve problems at the network edge before they happen, Aruba
ESP’s foundation is built on AIOps, Zero trust network security, and a unified campus to branch infrastructure to deliver an automated, all-in-
one platform that continuously analyzes data across domains, tracks SLAs, identifies anomalies, and self-optimizes, while seeing and
securing unknown devices on the network:

Remote working environments raise new security challenges and how to meet them
Since the onset of the pandemic, work-from-home (WFH) and remote working environments have become the norm, rather than the
exception. It’s a significant change for small to midsize businesses (SMBs) to absorb and digest, especially from a security standpoint.

The many challenges that this reshaping of the workplace involves include the need to protect remote users, devices, applications, and data,
as well as the networks and communications that connect workers to the services and resources they need. Thus, SMBs find themselves in
need of comprehensive, holistic security solutions that address secure operations, data protection and security, and backup/restore. Indeed,
SMBs must confront and handle interesting security challenges if they wish to meet business goals and deliver positive, productive end-user
experiences.

Converged Infrastructure
HPE HCI 2.0 test drive just got better
The new hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) experience, HCI 2.0, has created waves in the industry. Built for business-critical apps and
mixed workloads, disaggregated HCI offers the hyper-simplicity of traditional HCI while ensuring apps are always-on and always fast with
sub-millisecond latency. The newest offering in its class, HPE Nimble Storage dHCI, has the horsepower and features to allow you to deploy
VMs for previously under-served business-critical workloads, which could easily bring a standard HCI environment to its knees. HCI 2.0 can
support those heavier, more complex workloads with resilience, performance, and efficiency.

HPE Nimble dHCI allows you to independently scale your infrastructure, which means you can add new servers with no impact to your
existing apps and storage. And it’s all simple and automated, so you don’t have to remember specific steps, perform complex tuning, or delay
time to market waiting on other teams for resources. Plus, you gain the power of AIOps with HPE InfoSight, eliminating the firefighting that’s
required when you have limited visibility across the infrastructure:

Is RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2) supported with the HPE Synergy VC 100Gb module?
The difference between RoCEv2 and iWARP is UDP vs. TCP. And the switches don’t care if traffic is UDP or TCP, they switch both. The
dependency on getting support of RoCEv2 or iWARP is whether or not the network adapter supports either or both. As you can see in
Product Bulletin, the 6410S supports only RoCE v1 and RoCE v2. The 6810C, 4820C & 6820C support RoCE v1, RoCE v2 and iWARP

How are the tertiary risers in the DL380 and DL385 (Gen10 & Gen10 Plus) providing extra power to GPUs when they don’t have a
dedicated GPU power connector?
The tertiary risers with PCIe slots are bundled with a short adapter cable (869828-001) that takes the necessary power signals from a
special mainboard connector next to PSUs. On the other end of this cable is exactly the same power connector that you can find on primary
and secondary risers, so the same GPU power cable kits can be used. Note that the special power connector on the mainboard is necessary
for powering mid-tray, 2LFF rear cages or the 2SFF rear cage that is installed above PSUs. If you have any of these in your configuration, it is
not possible to install any GPU requiring extra power in the tertiary riser slot.
Is there any way to add drives to the HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 CTO without Drives Compute Module?
Technically it is possible to add the drive cage and backplane using SpareParts. You will need 1x cage with bezel (873079-001), 1x
backplane (873075-001 / 873076-001) and a controller with battery (i.e. 823852-B21 / 804424-B21 + 875242-B21). If you need only
some SAS/SATA drives and do not require a cached controller it should be enough to go with 1x backplane and 1x E208i-c controller. The
replacement/installation of the components is detailed in the below maintenance guide:
HPE Synergy 480 Gen10 Compute Module Maintenance and Service Guide
Do HPE racks have adjustable feet?
Yes, leveling feet ship installed in each HPE G2 rack. It allows stabilization and levels the racks at the installation site. HPE Infrastructure
Rack hardware kits also include leveling pads that are used with the feet during rack stabilization.
Do we have some rack option which can help to remove convection heat inside the cabinet?
Yes, we can propose the HPE Rack Roof Mount Fan Kit (220V) (PN: 257414-B21). This kit has six fans with fixed speed and without any
automatism. It enhances natural convection cooling by increasing airflow in the rack. Please be aware that HPE Rack Roof Mount Fan Kit is
not compatible with 14U racks.
Can I boot from 2x M.2 drives in RAID1 attached to the S100i in a DL360/DL380-based VSAN® solution?
Software RAID1 using HPE S100i controller is not supported by VMware ESX®. VMware ESX on its own does not provide a way to create the
SW RAID1 either. It is possible to disable the S100i and activate the AHCI mode, so the ESX will detect the drive(s) directly and then it will
be possible to boot from SATA M.2. Some HPE vSAN Ready Nodes utilize this setup to provide a single, non-redundant M.2 SATA boot
drive. However, this solution cannot be made redundant (RAID1) for vSAN. For a redundant boot solution, HPE recommends use of HPE
NS204i-p OS Boot Device. This is a PCIe card that includes two 480GB NVMe M.2 SSDs, in non-configurable embedded HW RAID1. It is
designed for booting and utilizes native, inbox OS NVMe drivers with no custom driver needed. It can be used for VMware including vSAN
and Ready Nodes. To determine if the NS204i-p is supported with your server, check Product Bulletin.

All the documentation can be found in HPE InfoSight at the links below. The following procedure can be used to enable or disable SNMP
traps, and Configure SNMP Traps using the CLI. It is also possible to configure via the GUI - see the links for full instructions. The parameters
to be configured can be the host name and ports. Optionally, add the location of the system and a contact email address.
Enable SNMP traps: group --edit --snmp_trap_enabled {yes |no}

• Configure an SNMP trap host name: group --edit --snmp_trap_host hostname

• Set the SNMP trap destination port: group --edit --snmp_trap_port port_number
• Enable SNMP GET: group --edit --snmp_get_enabled {yes |no)
• Add an SNMP password: group --edit --snmp_community password
• Set the SNMP responder port: group --edit --snmp_get_port port_number
• (Optional) Enter the location of the system: group --edit --snmp_sys_location system_location
• (Optional) Add a contact email address: group --edit --snmp_sys_contact contact_email_address
The HPE Nimble array uses SNMP to communicate with network management systems. Note that the device sends traps but does not
receive them. You can download the HPE Nimble SNMP MIB from the HPE Nimble Storage Support site. Note: The array uses the alert level
settings for email alerts to determine the events that are sent as SNMP traps:

Is it possible to configure alerts or notifications via email for HPE Nimble Arrays?
You can configure email alerts to use regular or secure Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) processing, depending on which mode is
appropriate for your environment. You might choose to use regular SMTP for email alerts if you have an SMTP server installed on your
network that accepts email messages from external parties. You might choose to use secure SMTP if you have an SMTP server installed on
your network, but prefer to disallow anonymous relays, or if you do not have an internal email server because you implemented cloud-based
email, such as Office 365. You can configure email alerts differently for each HPE Nimble Storage group of arrays. You must have at least
Power User permission to configure SMTP-based email alerts.

• Go to Administration > Alerts and Monitoring > Email.

• For both regular and secure SMTP, specify values for the fields that are enabled by default.
• For Authentication, select the default value of No for regular SMTP or select “Yes” for secure SMTP.
• For secure SMTP only, specify values for the fields that are enabled after you select “Yes” for the Authentication option.
• Click Save to save the configuration.
• (Optional) Click Test to send a test message to verify the configuration and then click OK to acknowledge the successful message.

Is it possible to add an LTO FC Tape Drive to an MSL6480 library online, or the library should be powered down?
The procedure can be found in the User and Service Guide: HPE StoreEver MSL6480 Tape Library User and Service Guide. According to
that documentation, it is possible to add the additional Tape drives without the need to power off the system. However, this is a potentially
hazardous procedure, due to moving parts in the tape library, therefore please note these comments and review all documentation carefully
before proceeding: ‘’When possible, install all tape drives during the initial library installation process before the library is powered on. When
installing additional tape drives after the library has been powered on, follow the instructions included with the tape drive.’’ “WARNING
MOVING PARTS: Only personnel with technical and product safety training (referred to as users in this document) may have access to or
operate the library. Read all documentation and procedures before proceeding with the tape drive installation orreplacement process.
Hazardous moving parts exist inside this product. Do not insert tools nor any portion of yourbody into the drive bay openings”:

My customer is asking about attenuators. Do we have anything we can offer him? Any do we have any documentation?
We do not have attenuators in our portfolio. However, it might be possible that your customer does not need them at all. In the below guide
you will find details where we explain when an attenuator is required (page 13). Your transceivers' sender and receiver might meet into
supported values (dbm). “For example, a 40G ER4 has a highest transmit level of 4.5dBm, but the Receive Sensitivity can be no higher than -
4.5dBm. That means there must be at least a 9dBm loss on the light level to be within the standards (4.5 - (-4.5) = 9dBm required).
Attenuation required = (highest transmit power) - (highest receive sensitivity)”. Information about transmit and receive power can be found
in our Transceivers Guide:
AOS-Switch and AOS-CX Transceiver Guide

Can you explain how to set the default OS image for boot in Aruba switches?
By default, it will boot from the primary system image. Your customer can configure it by using: “boot set-default {primary | secondary}”
command. If you are upgrading your CX switch, it might be a good idea to install a newer CX version in our secondary slot and leave current
and stable version in the primary (which is selected to boot by default). In case your switch reboots during this upgrade due to image
corruption or any kind or problem, your switch will boot again using your primary and stable version:
ArubaOS-CX 10.04 Fundamentals Guide

Is the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) supported in the CX8320 and CX8325?
No, it is not supported. This feature requires specialized HW PHYs behind the switch's ports so ports can accurately record the dwell times of
packets in-out of our switches.

How is the Aruba Central cloud-based licensing model changing?

Aruba has introduced the Foundation and Advanced Licenses. This is a uniform subscription software licensing that will be extended to all
products under the Aruba Central-managed portfolio. The new 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-year fixed-term licenses offer you the flexibility to choose
services:

How can a partner gain access to IRIS offline software?

Only registered partners have access to IRIS offline. Below are the steps you need to do to gain Aruba subscription to your IRIS.

• Partner sends an email request for IRIS Offline Access to [email protected] containing the Partner ID and Partner Company Name.
• He/she get an email with a license agreement that has to be signed, scan and send back by following the instructions in the email.
• After that the partner will get the ok and the instructions to download IRIS from the Intangi site.
Is there a specification on how many mesh remote AP's can be connected to InstantON AP's or does this vary by the model used
as the hub AP? How many mesh hops can be created with InstantON is it only one or can there be more hops over wireless mesh?
The maximum hop count is two nodes (point >point >portal) and the maximum number of mesh points per mesh portal is eight.

Is the pre-check utility also available for upgrade manager?
Pre-check utility is not available for upgrade manager.

Does pre-check utility check the hardware compatibility matrix against deployment package versions?
No, there is a separate interoperability guide that describes the hardware, BIOS, firmware compatibles against the HPE SimpliVity package
that is being deployed.

How does the pre-utility check help me?

Pre-utility check runs the same validation process as the deployment manager but stops after the validating and provides the report of the
deployment success criteria against each component. This helps customers/IT admin team to rectify the dependencies, making necessary
changes etc., to the environment and keep the environment ready for deployment at the right time, reducing the time around validating and
troubleshooting at the time of build.

Can HPE SimpliVity nodes configured in a stretch cluster support VDI workloads?
Yes. HPE SimpliVity nodes running software 4.0.1 or later can run linked clone VDI desktops in stretch clusters:
HPE OmniStack 4.0.1 for vSphere® Release Notes

Can HPE SimpliVity generate a backup report for audit and compliance verification?
Yes. HPE SimpliVity software 4.0.1 and later can generate a backup report for audit and compliance verification. With 4.1.0 customers can
generate a backup report for external storage including HPE Cloud Volumes Backup.

Is there any way to place restrictions on the bandwidth consumed by remote replication?
With HPE SimpliVity software 4.1.0, there is a CLI command that can limit bandwidth utilization on remote replication to reduce the chance
of it starving HPE SimpliVity management traffic or other applications.
