Fairy Jane wakes up, eats breakfast, and sees her friend Thomas the cat across the river. When Thomas spots Fairy Jane, he swims across and comes into her house. Fairy Jane's wing gets caught in a tree and breaks, so she gets Thomas to bring her a spare wing but he brings the wrong color. Thomas cries but Fairy Jane says it's okay, and she rides him home on his back to get the right wing and can fly again.
