BUMP PASS

Key Points:

1. Athletic Stance, One Hand On Top of the Other Hand, Thumbs Meet), Legs
Shoulder Width Apart, Knees Bent & Arms Locked
● Direct the volleyball towards your target (person you are passing to) by
following through. Following through will give you a more accurate pass,
and will set up your teammates to be able to hit the ball over the net / pass
to another teammate. The bump should be higher than the net, and force
should come from arms and legs. You want the volleyball high enough so
someone else has time to move to the ball and make good contact with the
volleyball. You should forearm pass when the ball falls below Shoulders.
SMITH 8
SETTING

Key Points:

1. Athletic Stance, Form a Triangle with Pointer Fingers and Thumbs, Make
Contact at Eye Level, Let Hands Be Loose. Hit the ball with your finger tips,
and push the ball back in the air by pushing your arms up.
● Direct volleyball up and towards the target by giving them an accurate pass
(following through). Set should be higher than the net, and force should
come from arms and legs. We want the volleyball set high enough so
someone else has time to move and make contact with the volleyball. You
should Set the ball when it’s Above the Shoulders.

SERVING / ATTACKING

Key Points:

1. Bend Knees, Step in opposition, Swing dominant arm back, Make Contact
w/ Volleyball and follow through

● Steps should be in appropriate rhythm. Step in opposition while keeping the

volleyball in non dominant hand. Swing dominant arm back, and swing
forward while making contact with the bottom of hand / wrist. Follow
through to give a more accurate serve.
