CALL FOR PAPERS

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
ON
“SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:
POLICY, PRACTICE, CONCERNS AND
WAY FORWARD – 2024”

June 6th & 7th, 2024

Bennett University, India is organising the international

conference in collaboration with the University of
Birmingham (UK) and the University of Camerino (Italy).

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The concept of ‘Sustainable development’ of late has become a buzz word, but in Indian
traditional philosophy “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” says, “the world is one family.” This
expression is gradually gaining traction at both the national and international levels.
One such international agenda that addresses the health and well-being of people and the
planet is the introduction of the “Sustainable Development Goals.” Sustainability and
inclusivity recieved new priorities with the adoption of the global “Sustainable
Development Goals” by the United Nations. The aim was to maintain harmony and balance
between humanity, institutions and the environment. Hence forth, major changes are being
observed in policies and practices at both the local and global level for achieving SDG 2030.
The discussions around SDGs ranges from recent debates, e.g. E.g. the green transition to
women's education, queer rights, impact assessment studies, etc. Nevertheless, various
disruptive technologies have emerged, e.g., ‘Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Machine Learning’,
‘Generative AI’, ‘Digitalization’, etc., which have made the achievement of SDGs either
easier or at times challenging. Of course, it is difficult to deny the optimism surrounding
the SDGs, but it is equally important to acknowledge the challenges that could prevent the
goals from being achieved. Therefore, this International Conference focuses on taking stock
of the progress made by various countries around the world. The idea is to identify and
present the best practices that could serve as ‘learning lessons’ for others. This conference
will also highlight the efforts and cases from the Global South, i.e., India, Asia, Southeast
Asia and Africa, in achieving SDGs. This ‘International Conference’ focuses on assessing the
status of SDGs in the contemporary era.
Academics, researchers, professionals, practitioners and students are welcomed to
participate and share their knowledge, skills and experiences.
