INTRODUCTION
Learning outcomes are today, for colleges and institutions, an academic route that allows knowing what
the achievements obtained by the students are once they have finished their academic process. Namely,
they are an academic assessment instrument which shows what the abilities of the students would be in
the investigative, academic and social fields once they graduate from their professional program.
Based on the foregoing, with regard to the teaching and learning of English as a second language,
LEARNING OUTCOMES are subject to the competences issued by the Common European Framework
of Reference for languages. Therefore, the standardized and comprehensive development of the content
and teaching of English at the University of La Guajira is essential.
For all of the above, below you will appreciate a standard proposal of knowledge in English prepared by
teachers from the Language Center of La Guajira University. Proposal that is based on the institutional
policy through a propaedeutic and synthetic student plan that contains 10 units divided into 16 weeks of
pedagogical meetings for the teaching of English as a second language, according to the level the
students have enrolled.
These topics are divided into 10 units, which contemplate not only the vocabulary to be addressed
according to the topics, but also the grammar, the appropriate connectors, the verbs according to the
nature of the grammatical tense and finally, we will find a group of recreational activities which seek to
awaken the didactic spirit of the teachers and didactic stimulation in the learner.

WARM UP: MIMING GAME

Let's divide the room into two groups. Each group must choose a representative who picks up a card. The students
guess present perfect sentences about recent events from mimes.
The teacher then askes the student 'How have you been?' The student replies with either 'Pretty good' or 'Not too good',
depending on whether his/her card represents good news or bad news. After that, the student mimes the verb on his/her card
using actions and gestures, and his/her group tries to guess the news. If the group says the verb on the card wins and keeps
the card. The group with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner. The teacher write all the verbs in the board
using infinitives and the past participle(activity 1.1)
