ABSTRACT This training includes the lessons of designing and analyzing in Ansys which is an industrial level software. I had made numerous numbers of design and done different types of analysis on them such as thermal analysis, stress analysis, CFD, vibration analysis. One of its most significant products is Ansys CFD, a proprietary computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program. ANSYS CFD allows engineers to test systems by simulating fluid flows in a virtual environment — for example, the fluid dynamics of ship hulls; gas turbine engines (including the compressors, combustion chamber, turbines and afterburners); aircraft aerodynamics; pumps, fans, HVAC systems, mixing vessels, hydro cyclones, vacuum cleaners, etc. © semved wth Xt Scanner CHAPTER :- 1.1 DIFFERE! Applications are available in the areas of structural mechanics, geometry, CFD, rigid dynamics, electromagnetics, optimization and more. Mechat ‘al APDL-traditional ANSYS command driven interface. ANSYS CFD-State-of-the-art CFD solvers, including CFX and FLUENT. ANSYS ICEM CFD-Application containing CFD meshing tools with general pre and post-processing features. ANSYS AUTODYN-Explicit dynamic solver for transient non- linear simulations involving large deformations and strains, non- linear material behavior, non-linear buckling, complex contact, fragmentation, and shock wave propagation. ANSYS LS-DYNA-LS C’s LS-DYNA explicit dynamic solver technology with t he pre-/postprocessing power of ANSYS software. This powerful pairing can be u sed to simulate crash tests, metal forging, stamping, and catastrophic failures. © semved wth Xt Scanner INTRODUCTION TO ANSYS:: ANSYS is a general purpose finite element modeling package for numerically solving a wide variety of mechanical problems. These problems include: static/dynamic structural analysis (both linear and nonlinear), heat transfer and fluid problems, as well as acoustic and electro-magnetic problems. In general, a finite element solution may be broken into the following three stages. This is a general guideline that can be used for setting up any finite element analy: 1, Preprocessing: defining the problem; the major steps in preprocessing are given below + Define Key-points/lines/areas/volumes + Define element type and material/geometric properties + Mesh lines/areas/volumes as required The amount of detail required will depend on the dimensionality of the analysis (i.e. 1D, 2D, axisymmetric, 3D). 2, Solution: assigning loads, constraints and solving: here we specify the loads (point or pressure), constraints (translational and rotational) and finally solve the resulting set of equations. 3, Post-processing: further processing and viewing of the results; in this stage one may wish to see: + Lists of nodal displacements + Element forces and moments + Deflection plots * Stress contour diagrams © semved wth Xt Scanner ANSYS is a general purpose software, used to simulate interactions of all disciplines of physics, structural, vibration, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and electromagnetic for engineers. So ANSYS, which enables to simulate tests or working conditions, enables to test in virtual environment before manufacturing prototypes of products. Furthermore, determining and improving weak points, computing life and foreseeing probable problems are possible by 3D simulations in virtual environment. ANSYS software with its modular structure as seen in the table below gives an opportunity for taking only needed features. ANSYS can work integrated with other used engineering software on desktop by adding CAD and FEA connection modules. © semved wth Xt Scanner ANSYS can import CAD data and also enables to build a geometry with its "preprocessing" abilities. Similarly in the same preprocessor, finite element model (a.k.a. mesh) which is required for computation is generated. After defining loadings and carrying out analyses, results can be viewed as numerical and graphical. © semved wth Xt Scanner ANSYS can carry out advanced engineering analyses quickly, safely and practically by its variety of contact algorithms, time based loading features and nonlinear material models. ANSYS Workbench is a platform which integrate simulation technologies and parametric CAD systems with unique automation and performance. The power of ANSYS Workbench comes from ANSYS solver algorithms with years of experience. Furthermore, the object of ANSYS Workbench is verification and improving of the product in virtual environment. ANSYS Workbench, which is written for high level compatibility with especially PC, is more than an interface and anybody who has an ANSYS license can work with ANSYS Workbench. As same as ANSYS interface, capacities of ANSYS Workbench are limited due to possessed license. © semved wth Xt Scanner CHAPTER: - 2.1 INTRODUCTION TO ANSYS WORKBENCH What is Workbench? Chapter:-3 ANSYS For Mechanical ANSYS Mechanical software is a comprehensive FEA analysis (finite element) too! for structural analysis, including linear, nonlinear and dynamic studies. The engineering simulation product provides a complete set of elements behavior, material models and equation solvers for a wide range of mechanical design problems. In addition, ANSYS Mechanical offers thermal analysis and coupled- physics capabilities involving acoustic, piezoelectric, thermal, structural and thermo-electric analy: ANSYS Mechanical allows efficient computation of large problems, such as this detailed model of a complete combine.
