P1: Do you think people have changed over the years?
P2: Human nature hasn’t changed for several million years. Human society and culture
changes continuously, and always has changed. It is never constant.
P1: So what do you think about human ambition always increasing?
P2: Ambition is a product of human nature — not of social conditioning. Hence, people
are not less ambitious then they were in the past. However, people sometimes did not
have the chance to demonstrate that attribute. What about opportunity?
P1: Opportunity is required in order for ambition to be operative — and history
occasionally didn’t always oblige and provide that opportunity. For example, in the rise
of Greek civilization, and in the rise of the Roman Empire, ambition was a major factor.
However, the period after the collapse of the Roman Empire resulted in a lack of
ambition for most people. They were too busy trying to survive.
P2: How do people express their ambitions?
P1: There are many ways to express ambition. They must clearly determine the purpose
of their ambition, what benefits that ambition will bring to themselves and how it will
affect everything around them. So what benefits will ambitious people receive from
that?
P2: First, they will achieve the goal they desire, which will bring many things to their
lives. Second, ambitious people can easily succeed in all aspects, such as getting
promoted at work, becoming rich, becoming people with a calculating mind and
handling all difficult situations when they encounter them. However, it also brings many
negative things to others, do you know what it is?
P1: In my opinion, their ambitions can affect others, can cause others to encounter
difficulties and obstacles, and push others into the same path. Moreover, it can directly
affect the life of the ambitious person if those ambitions are not correct. Changing their
human nature, which was originally a gentle person, they became cruel and greedy,
using every trick to achieve.
P2: Thus, ambition can be beneficial but can also be harmful to society. We need to
clearly define that ambition and have the right ways to handle it so we don't have to
regret it. Do you think of yourself as an ambitious person?
P1: As for me, as a student, I am only ambitious for small things, such as achieving high
academic results, getting a lot of love and attention from friends, and even getting a job
in the future. a job with a salary satisfactory to my desires. As for bigger ambitions later,
I'm not sure.How about you?
P2: I personally don't have any ambitions, I just want to do what I want and think is right.
I don't waste my time on things that I don't think bring value to myself. If I have
ambition, I think it's simply something that makes me happy doing it. I think each person
should have their own ambitions and adjust them in a positive direction for society.
P1: So let's clearly define our ambitions together and turn them into things that benefit
ourselves and our lives in the future.
