Role Department
GET – Quality Assurance (QA) Software
Reports To QA Lead
Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing of software/IT products. The primary
objective is to meet client requirements and ensure the timely and error-free delivery of products using automation
testing.
Technical Skills Required

• Develop and execute test cases using Selenium or manual methods.


• Identify and track software defects throughout testing.
• Utilize automation tools like JUnit, TestNG, or Selenium (Preferred).
• Possess basic programming knowledge in Java, Python, or relevant languages.
• Understand version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla, and knowledge of web technologies.

Additional Skills:
• Aware of latest technology trends, engineering processes, practices and metrics
• Familiarity with tools like Postman or RestAssured.
• Basic knowledge of tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.

Behavioural Skills Required

S. No. Job Responsibilities


1 Quality Assurance:
• Generate test cases aligned with the Functional Specific Document and share them with the
respective module developer.
• Execute test cases for module and component testing on the development server.
• Perform manual & automation testing using existing test cases.
• Raise bugs on Azure in case of concerns/issues, triggering notifications to the responsible
module head.
• Develop automation and performance testing scripts (Selenium, Rest Assured, JMeter) to
enhance automation coverage.
• Conduct integration testing by combining individual modules into a single entity.
• Conduct an internal demo for the Business Analysis team upon successful testing.

Planning:

• Manage and update tasks using Azure.
• Generate test cases in the MS Teams' shared folder upon FSD signoff, and promptly share
them with the development team.
• Actively participate in daily scrum meetings, providing updates on testing status.
• Engage in review meetings based on the timelines of modules/components.

Delivery:

• Should complete the tasks as per the defined timelines and in case of any deviation from
the actual timeline, should raise a risk to the internal team.
• During UAT, an incumbent need to provide support, in case of any issue reported by the
client side.
• Share status reports (including test summary report, and defect summary report) during
the system integration testing & user acceptance testing phase on daily basis.
• Give demo to system integration testing, user acceptance testing and support team.
• Prepare the technical document, after testing and share it with the client for their
reference.

Ownership and Testing Responsibilities for Project Go-Live:

• Take ownership of entire modules until project go-live.
• Perform testing in lower environments (UAT, SIT) in response to issues reported by the
Application Support team after project launch; if the issue persists, direct it to the
development team for resolution.
• Adaptable to meet deadlines based on client requirements.
