S45 In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately
Section 4 – First Aid Measures
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. If breathing
difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician. Effects may be delayed.
Skin: Wash immediately with water followed by soap and water. If symptoms persist, obtain
medical attention. Contaminated clothing should be laundered before reuse.
Eye: Irrigate immediately with plenty of clear water or an eyewash solution for at least 15
minutes. Apply sterile castor oil or simple eye ointment. Obtain medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed immediately call physician who will decide on need and method of emptying
the stomach.
Section 5 – Fire Fighting Measures
Extinguishing Media: Water fog, CO2, dry chemical, and foam.
Protective Equipment: Fire fighters must wear a full-face, positive pressure, self-contained
breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Section 6 – Accidental Release Measures
Personal Precautions: Remove all possible sources of ignition in the surrounding area.
Environmental Precautions: Do not discharge into drains or river. Contain the spillage using bunding.
Clean-up Methods: Neutralize small spillage with a decontaminant (mixture of water with 2% of
a detergent and 5-10% of either concentrated ammonia or sodium
carbonate). Absorb large spillage onto an inert, non-flammable absorbent
carrier. Shovel the resulting mixture in waste drums and remove for
contamination and disposal. Wash the spillage area clean with liquid
contaminant. People dealing with major spillage should wear full protective
clothing including respiratory protection.
Other Information: Observe all relevant local regulations.
Section 7 – Handling and Storage
Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor or mist. Use
adequate ventilation. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling.
Storage: Do not store drums uncovered out of doors. Do not reseal containers unless it is
certain that no moisture contamination has occurred.
