Ground Rules

RULES OF THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

I. ELIGIBILITY
1. CATEGORY : - Inter Brgy. Basketball Tournament
A. All players must resident of the respective barangay.
2. GENERAL RULES
A. To be eligible to participate in this tournament, a player must be a resident of the participating
Barangay for no less than (6) six months prior to the opening.
B. Must have submitted the list of all team members before______________.
C. No player can transfer to other teams if final list has been submitted.

II. TEAM COMPOSITION


a. Participating team may have maximum of (15) fifteen players.

III. UNIFORMS.
a. All players must wear any sports attire and rubber shoes. Slippers, jeans and other non-sporty attire is
not allowed.
b. All players must at any way to show and display their player number during the game.

IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


a. Both coaches & players of the playing team should know the rules and Regulation of the game and
must see to it that they are in total control of their players and their benches.
b. Only the coaches of the playing team are allowed to stand and make necessary
verification/Complaints during the progress of the game.

V. TEAM DISCIPLINE AND CONDUCT OF PLAYERS


a. A team must be present at the playing court within (20) twenty Minutes before the scheduled match.
In case a team will not show up after a grace period of Twenty Minutes (20Mins) THE TEAM WILL
lose THE GAME By forfeiture.
b. Any team who commits two (2) consecutive game default will be withdrawn from the tournament
without prior notice.
c. Any player, coach or manager who commits any of the enumerated acts of violence or
UNSPORTSMANSLIKE conduct shall be penalized with suspension in the game depending upon the
gravity of the violation/situation.
d. Players who are under the influence of liquor or any prohibited substance are not allowed to play.
e. Only the team captain in the floor can communicate with the game officials including table officials
regarding technicalities but not judgement call. However, it should be in courteous manner and calm
manner.
f. A player shall be disqualified / send out of the game if:
1. He commits two (2) Technical fouls
2. He commits two (2) Unsportsmanlike fouls in a game
3. He commits both or combination of the two types of fouls mentioned.
4. The technical committee has the power to disqualify any players coaches that may cause
detrimental values to the league.
g. The following are prohibited from the courts premises:
1. Alcohol beverages
2. Prohibited drugs
3. Guns & deadly weapons
h. Team members found positive either on alcohol or high or drugs will be automatically banned from the
league.
i. A team who “walked-Out” from the game shall be lose the game by Forfeiture.
j. In case of fights, every player involved will be automatically banned from the league. A fight means:
Someone who has thrown a punch or kick an opponent or other physical contact that is not related to
basketball. The officials and technical committees still have the final decision.
k. In the absence of the coach, the team captain will act as the playing coach.
l. A team or team representative who did not attend the opening clinic must pay Php. 500.00 pesos fine.
m. A game shall strictly start as per schedule prepared by the committee commissioner.
n. GAME STOP PROCEDURE
1. If a game is stopped due to unavailable circumstances like power failure, bad weather
condition and render the court is not unplayable.
o. Format of the game.
1. Double elimination

p. PROTEST PROCEDURE
1. Any protest on the eligibility of the player can be made anytime during the elimination round. If
found ineligible, all games in which the ineligible player shall be forfeited and declared lost in
favour of the opponent.
2. Protesting team must present evidences to prove its case before the Commissioner of the
Basketball Committee within 24 working days hours after the schedule game. The technical
committee will be compelled to hear and render its decision to solve the protest. Representatives
of both teams must attend the deliberations of the technical committee.

q. SUPPLEMENTAL RULES
1. The committee officials and referees decision is final.
2. The 2022 FIBA RULES & REGULATIONS shall govern this Tournament.
“Any rules, which is not covered by this undertaking, shall be announced by the organizer as soon
as the need arises.
