• What is Regular Noun?
Answer: It follows a predictable pattern when pluralized, such
as adding “s” or “es” at the end.
For example:
The flower is beautiful.
The flowers are beautiful.
➢ In the first example, the word flower is singular since it’s
referring to a one flower.
➢ In the second example, the word flowers are plural because
it’s more than one.
• What is added to these words to make them plural in form?
Answer: We will add (s) at the end of the singular noun to
make it plural.
✓ Always remember:
singular noun + s = plural noun
I will give you another example.
The fish is blue.
The fishes are colorful.
➢ In the first example, the word fish is singular since it’s
referring to a one fish.
➢ In the second example, the word fishes are plural because it’s
more than one.
• What is added to word fish to make them plural in form?
Answer: We will add (es) at the end of the singular noun to
make it plural.
Here are the Rules for Formation of Regular Plural Nouns:
Add “s” to the singular noun
Example:
hat + s = hats
bag + s = bags
Add “es” to the singular noun if it ends in s, x, z, ch, or sh
Example:
Piss + es = pisses
Fix + es = fixes
Buzz + es = buzzes
Church + es = churches
Wish + es = wishes
✓ Always Remember:

ch, and sh) to make it plural.
