SAFETY
MOMENT
Stop, Rest, Reset
to Avoid Accidents
Accidents can happen anywhere, at any time. But there are simple things we can
do to reduce the risk of accidents, such as stopping, resting, and resetting.
Stop
Stop when you are tired. It is never worth putting yourself or others at risk
because you are too tired to focus.
Stop when you are distracted. If you are not paying attention to what you are
doing, you are more likely to make a mistake that could lead to an accident.
Stop if you are not sure what to do. If you are unsure about how to complete a
task safely, ask for help.
Rest
Get enough sleep at night. Most adults need 7-8 hours of sleep per night. When
you are well-rested, you are better able to focus and make sound decisions.
Take breaks throughout the day. Get up and move around, or step outside for
some fresh air. Taking
breaks will help you to stay alert and focused.
Reset
Take a few minutes to relax and clear your head before starting a new task. This
will help you to focus on the task at hand and avoid making mistakes.
Take breaks throughout the day to reset your mind and body. This could involve
doing some deep breathing exercises, listening to calming music, or spending
time in nature.
