Recommended Surface : Surface Preparation
Preparation All lumber should be stored on the premises in dry
warm rooms to prevent absorption of moisture. The
amount of moisture contained in a piece of wood is
referred to as "moisture content" and is expressed as
a percentage indicating relative weight of the water in
the wood compare to its own dry weight. Wood
expands as it absorbs moisture and shrinks when it
loses it.
The moisture content of wood changes with the level
of moisture or humidity in the air. The Moisture
humidity in the air. The moisture content of wood at the
time it is coated should be approximately 5-8%.
All surfaces should be sanded smooth. Each
subsequent sanding should use a finer grit paper than
the previous. A Typical system would invoice using
100 grits followed by 15, 180 and touch up with 220.
The spread between grit sizes should be close enough
so as not to leave sand scratches from the first
sanding that cannot be removed by the next.

Recommended Surface : All sanding dust must be removed by using either a


Preparation tack rag or a blast of clean air from a spray gun. If any
dirt or greases attaches to the surface before actual
finishing, it must be removed by solvent wiping.
Wood
Must be clean, dry, and finish sanded. Moisture
content should be 6 to 8%.

Cleaning Solvent : Novalux Thinner 896

Applications : Reduction:
Reduction is normally not required. For faster drying,
reduce with toluene or naptha.
Conventional Spray:
Air Pressure .....................30-35 psi
Application as a Wiping Stain
Spray a full wet coat. Remove excess stain by wiping
using a circular motion with a soft cloth. For a deeper
color, allow some of the solvent to flash off up to 15
minutes maximum working time.
For a lighter color, reduce with mineral spirits or wipe
sooner.
If wiping becomes difficult due to dryness of the stain,
rewet with a cloth dipped in stain, the wipe again.
The stain may be applied by brush, dipping, sponge or
cloth.
Sealers or other wood finishing products may be
applied 30 minutes after wiping. For faster drying,
reduce with toluene or naptha.

Storage & Handling : The product should be ideally stored in a cool and well
ventilated place, protected from heat and direct
sunlight. Containers must be kept tightly closed before
and after use. Handle with care.
Packaging : 5 & 20 liter set

Shelf Life : 12 months @25°C
