Note:Follow the operations listed hereunder and you will be able to


send files to the

1 Communication setting of the computer with the LED sign

Open File -> Communication setting,you will see some pages as shown,that is the way to contact

the display.

Ethernet com setting RS232/485 Com setting

DNS communication setting GPRS communication setting

* Ethernet com:In the above Figure 3, IP refers to the IP address of the LED sign;Port is the

gateway. If there is no gateway, please just input 4 digits. Then please set the Group Address and

Unit Address. If you have forgotten these addresses, please just input 00.

* Serial port com : Under Serial Port, please select the proper serial port through which the

computer communicates with the LED sign. Set the Group Address and the Unit Address in the

same way as described above.

*DNS domain name communication : the use of domain name communication , Domain is the

name of the network where the screen is located. Set the Port, Group Address and the Unit

Address in the same way as described above.

* GPRS network communication: IP is the address of the PC server;Set the Port, Group Address

and the Unit Address in the same way as described above.

After setting, you can click on the button OK and the setting is done. If the computer can

communicate with the LED sign, the above Fig.3 and Fig. 4 dialogue boxes will disappear. If the

communication fails, Fig.5 will pop up. In such case, please check the connection between the

computer and the LED sign, or the communication settings.

2 Setting the Size of the Editor


Open File -> Editor Setting,as shown below. Set the width and height of the editor to exactly the

width and height of the LED sign as defined by display pixels. If you happen to have set editor’s

width and height larger than the width and height of the LED sign, some contents will not be

displayed as they exceed the borders of the LED sign.

3 Create New Group
Step1:Click add groups;

Step2:Write the group name as shown below.

Step3:Click OK. Finish the group add. If you need to delete, click delete.
The editor has the default grouping and classification, the default grouping and classification

cannot be deleted, as follows:

4 Create New Category

Step1:Click groups;

Step2:Click ,Enter the name of the category on the prompt page;

Step3 : Click OK to add the category to success. As shown in the following figure, the new

category type6 added in group2.

5 Create New Information

5.1 Create New Information

Read back the message list from the LED sign:Click the Read button ,in the Tool Bar. Why
must we read back the message list form the Led sign? Please refer to the 2nd point in the

following section Msg NO Setting.

Step1:Select category;

Step2:Create a new display message. Click the Add button in the Tool Bar. Then fill in the

dialogue box as shown,Using the default name here. Click “OK”。

Msg Type : There are two kinds of message types, one being changeable and the other being

volatile. Changeable messages will remain in the LED sign even after power is disconnected,

whereas volatile messages will be lost after power is disconnected.

Msg NO:These are the serial numbers of the messages in the LED sign. There can be maximum

128 changeable messages, with numbers being 1-128. There can only be 4 volatile messages, with

numbers being 1-4. The serial numbers which you have read back from the LED sign cannot be

re-created. They can only be modified. This serial number is an exclusive one in the LED sign.

However, if you have not read back the message list from the LED sign, you can create a new

message list and use any number from 1-128. In such case, when you send the newly created

message numbers to the LED sign, it will automatically replace the same number that has been on

the LED sign. This is very important. You must always remember to read back the message list

from the LED sign before creating new display messages. Otherwise, the original messages will

be overwritten.

Msg Name:Message name;

Remark: There are permanent messages in the display list. Those messages are for the use of the

LED displays and cannot be erased.

Step3:Pressing the button ,to add display contents。

If one message has to be displayed in several frames, please add the contents one frame by one

frame. After pressing the Add button, please input the contents you want to display. The following

figure shows the status at this stage.

Functions of the buttons in the content editing area.

Size of the characters for display.

Time duration to display one frame. Maximum being 25

seconds.

Mode of alignment

Flashing the characters.

Inserting picture, time, or to move the characters.

Now we’ll introduce the inserting button and its functions :

* To insert a picture:Please click the button \Picture,open the page like below and select
the page;then select the picture which you want to insert;finally click OK,that you can insert the

picture(The pictures can only be inserted from the picture library. For introduction will follow in

later sections about the management of the pictures.)。

The X and Y at the lower left corner refer to the position on the LED sign where the picture begins

to display. The X value + the width of the picture cannot exceed the width of the LED sign, and

the Y value + the height of the picture cannot exceed the height of the picture. For example, the

width x height of the LED sign is 64x48,and the width x height of the picture is 40x30,then the

maximum of X is 24(64-40),the maximum of Y is 18(48-30).

* To insert time, date, temperature, etc... Click the button \ Special Object as shown
below. and select one you want to insert, then click OK,then you can insert the content. If you are

not satisfied with the inserted content, you can right click the black dot and then select “property”

to modify it.

Remark:If show the picture as below when we select the object and click Ok,it means that lack

space in this line. We need to consider the line feed to add or re-adjust the line in order to ensure

that there is enough space to add special objects.

* To insert moving characters:Please click the button \ Move text,Enter the contents
in the blank area, for example, move text; Select the text,setting the typeface、colour of character,

as shown below. Click OK,then you can add it.

What differences are there between the characters inserted here and those inserted in the editing

area? In the editing area, your input characters cannot exceed the size of the LED sign. However,

the characters you insert here can be larger than the LED sign. If the characters you insert are

larger than the size of the LED sign, the characters will move. The inserted content is represented

by a black dot in the editing area . If you are not satisfied with the inserted content, you can

right click the black dot and enter “property” to modify the content.

Please refer to the table below for the attributes above the interface.

Size of the characters to be displayed.You need to select the text

before modifying

Color of character

Peed of the moving characters, four number of characters that hop at

every 100ms.

The size of the moving characters on the LED signs. It cannot exceed

the width of the LED sign. If there is other content in the same line

that has inserted content, the area that allows moving characters to

move will be reduced.

Mode of display. It includes circular display or linear display.

Delayed time duration of display. The unit of delayed time duration

is x100ms.

Direction of character movement.

Remark:If the stop time of a frame on the LED sign is too short, you might see a repetition of

display even before one frame is completely displayed. In such a case, you only need to set the

stop time to be a little bit longer.


At present, after the edition of frame, as below, added characters, time and move text. If you want

to adjust the corresponding object only need to double-click in the preview area.

*To insert module of characters:Please click the button \ Text Rectangle,will appear
the text module properties window, as below. Enter the starting coordinates and length of the text

module in this window, and click OK to add the text module to the frame.

If you want to modify the location of the text module, you can double-click the text module in the

preview window, and modify it in the property settings, or drag the text module directly to change

the position.

In the text module can enter characters, also insert the mobile text and date, temperature and other

special objects.

Here's shown how to add content to the text module:

Step1:Select the text module, then the border of that module selected will turn red.

Step2:Increase the content and add content in the editor of the frame.

As the picture shown , add “text” in the frame, and add “Text Rectangle” in text module.

Remark: The text module added can’t be bigger then the editor. Otherwise there will be appear tips

as shown below. In this case, it need to be careful that don’t set too much great value.

*To insert picture module:Please click \ Color Rectangle,it will appear the window of
color rectangle, select the color in the window, and then you can add the color module to the

frame.

If you want to modify the properties after inserting the color module, you can double-click the

color module in the preview window to open the property settings window to modify, or move

directly the color module to change the position. As following picture, add “text” in the frame, and

one color module in the bottom.

Remark: If the size of the color module increased is greater than the size of the editor, the

following prompt appears, and you need to be careful not to set an excessive value.

5.2 Setting Module

When we add a color module or text module, you can add the color module or text module into a

template, so that when you add frames do not have to manually add these modules.

Step1:Select the frames that need to be used as templates;

Step2:Select the file in the menu ->Module->Cur frame to module,setting the frame selected as

module.

Step3:Add a new frame in message; the new frame will include the module.

If you want to delete the frame,select the file in the menu->Module->Delete Module。

5.3 Setting Event Message

Step1:Select Event Message;

Step2:Click add message,and edit the message;

Step3:Select the message and click right to set to ;As below,


now have set the message.

5.4 Setting Lost Message

Step1:Select Lost Message;

Step2:Click to add message,and edit message;

Step3:Select the message and click right to set it . In


the prompt page to active time, such as 2min, the settings that, if not detected within 2 minutes

with the screen communication, the screen will display no communication message.

Click OK。

As the picture shown, now have set the lost message.

5.5 Setting ShortPower Message

Step1:Select ShortPower Message;

Step2:Click to add message, and edit the message;


Step3 : Selected the message and click right button to set it

. Setting the time in the prompt page, such as 60s. That


means, if the screen is turned off for 60 seconds, the message will be displayed on the screen

Click OK。

As the picture shown, now have added the shortpower message:

5.6 Setting LongPower Message

Step1:Click LongPower Message;

Step2:Click to add the message, and edit the message;


Step3 : Selected the message and click the right button to set it

. Click OK. If the time of shortpower is 3 minute, then


if the screen after three minutes to work properly, this time the screen will activate the display of

long power-down message.

As the picture shown, now have added the longpower message:

6 To Send Message

6.1 Send Message to One Screen

Step1:Select the list file and click right to set the activation message;

Step2:Click the send button , can send the list of message to the screen. Then the screen will

show the message activated.

If you just want to send the message selected to the screen, please using ctrl to select more files,

and select send All Selected Message with right click.


If you do not choose to activate the message, after sending, will be the default message under the

Common Message,

It can temporarily activate the message,right click to select ,


then the editor will send and activate the message automatically.

Read back the list after sending.

Click ,to read back the playlist, and it can be see the message at playing in the Active message.
As below,

Each time when you edit a message list, read back and read the message number that has been

occupied on the screen to avoid the same message number being overwritten.

6.2 Send Message by Group

Please click , on the left side shows a VMS with the same size like NTCIP sign screen for
select; And on the right side shows the VMS selected, as the picture shown, we can see some

screen with the same size like NTCIP, so we select the screen NTCIP.

Click OK,to send the message by group, and realize it successfully.

Remark: When you sent the list of message, the screen can show only one message. If you want

show variable messages, we need to use the schedule function.

7 Message Property

Right click the message and select “Property” to check the basic property of the sign and edit its

name, number, type, etc.

Msg Type: Type of the message

Msg NO: Number of the message

Msg Name: Name of the message

Msg Delay(minute): duration of the message (minute). Default value is 65535, which means the

message will exist forever.

Msg Beacon: Yellow flashing light is on when the message is playing. (NOT AVAILABLE)

Msg Pixel Service: Image point detection when the message is playing. (NOT AVAILABLE)

Msg Run Priority: Priority of message running, highest value: 255

Msg Activate Priority: Priority of message activation, highest value: 255

Msg Status: status of the message (CHECK ONLY, CANNOT EDIT)

8 Use of the Scheduling Functions

Click to enter the Message Schedule Interface.

Click to check the current schedule file list.

Double click the message can check full information of its schedule.

Now we start to explain how to add and send a message schedule.

Step1: Click to enter the message schedule interface.

Step 2: Click to renew available message.

Step 3: Choose the needed message and click to add the message into the selected message

area, or click to select all.

Step 4: Click the message, select “Months”, “Dates”, “Days” and edit “Time” (Example: Message

No.4). As the following figure, every Sunday at 11 o’clock in October Message No.2 will be

displayed, at 12 o’clock - Message No.3 and Message No.4.

Step 5: Click “OK” button and finish adding a message schedule. The result will be as follow:

Step 6: Send the schedule to the LED sign. Click or click for sending
as a group. After successfully sending, LED screen will display by the schedule time. In other

words, it will compare with the time of a DayPlan. The specific schedule will appear in the

schedule time, and time will be compared in the same DayPlan.

For example, in DayPlan2 in step 5, from Monday to Friday in December, the LED screen will

display Message No.2, No.3 and No.4 in a loop. Then at 12:00, the LED screen will stop

displaying Message No.2 and start to display Message No.3 and No.4.

Note: The LED sign can now display properly.

III、 Other Settings

1 System configuration parameters

Open Tool\System setting, as shown below:

Open and save configuration data.

To read back the configuration data from

the LED sign. If you want to modify

configuration data, you must read it back

from the LED sign.

To send configuration data to the LED

sign.

Name.

Size of the LED sign.

Beginning row and column.

Software version of the programme used

by the control panel.

Hardware version of the programme used

by the control panel.

Play Mode. Available to choose “play

immediately” or “play later”.

Not available.

Display mode of the LED sign. Different

display modes are for different LED signs.

Erroneous changes here may incur

abnormal displays.

The time when system configuration

parameters are written.

Series Number of the control panel.

Type of LED module.

To set IP address of the LED sign. The IP

address of the LED signs can be set here.

MAC address.

To set the GG, UU addresses of the serial

ports.

Baud rate.

Gray scale. This parameter should not be

changed. Otherwise, the display may

become abnormal.

Manual or automatic brightness

adjustment, you just need to click

after you have selected the


brightness value. This value will be in

terms of percentage.

To set time for half brightness display.

To set time for switching off the display.

Start-up information can be displayed if

this box is selected.

Advanced setting. Not available.

Note:

1. Don’t change LED sign’s system configurations randomly. Abnormal display may occur if

configuration setting is disturbed.

2. The system configuration data on the LED sign MUST be read back before modification and

sending back to the LED sign.

2 To download a font library to the LED sign

The font library list is an area to show font added by the user. When user wants to send font

library to the LED signs, needs to add font library to this list.

Open the file Tool\Font Manager.

For example, to send font library “Normal5-40” to the LED sign, you need to click “add” and

choose “Normal5.fnt-Normal 40.fnt” to add them to the list. As the following figure, click ,

and a progress bar will occur. When it gets to 100%, a page will appear showing that the font

library is sent successfully.

3. Picture Manager
Open tool\Library Manager.

Interface of Library picture manager is as following:

Now we add a picture into the picture library for use:

Step 1: Click File\Load Lib Files to import a picture to the picture preview area.

Step 2: Right click the picture and select “Size” to set the size of the picture.

Step 3: Click ,input name of library file in the blank and click “OK”.

Step 4: Send. Right click in “Picture Library Area” and select “Send Library”. New-added picture

of the bike is as below.

To edit the picture, you can select the picture and double click it. Then the picture will appear in

the Picture Edition Area. Click File\Save and the picture will renew its edition in Picture Library

Area.

4. Message Record
Click Message Record to check the log record of messages.

Open Tool\Log manager.

: Select the sign you want to check. “All sign” means to check log

record of all signs.

: Set amount of days of messages that need to check.

: Check message log record in a period of time.

After setting, click to read log records. The log records will be in the list above.

5. Time Adjustment
Open the file Tool\Time adjust as shown in Figure.

: To read back time of the sign.

: Adjust the time of the display to the time of the computer.

6. LED Sign Test


Open Tool\Display Test, as shown in Figure.

Display Test is a professional tool for LED screen testing. It’s able to do single-color full light test,

scan test and single-color grayscale gradient test. These two tests can check if there is flashing

point or abnormal situation of the LED screen.

LED Sign Test tool includes two parts, on the left is “General Test”, on the right is “Grayscale

Test”. In Grayscale Test, you can input integer (from 1 to 256) to set a grayscale. Two modes:

“Color grayscale” and “Grayscale Gradient” are available in selection of type. “Color Grayscale”

is set to display a single color, then brightness level will be decided by grayscale level. “Grayscale

Gradient” is a static process that makes the LED screen display brightly and gradually darken.

Click “Stop” to come back to normal display.

7. Parameters of the LED Sign


Open the file Tool\System information, as shown in Figure. You can see some operational

parameters and information about the LED sign. This page is for your viewing only and cannot be

edited.

8. Traffic Light Setting
Open file Tool\Traffic Light Setting and click setting of yellow flashing light.

Here we set yellow light to flash 300ms up and down as an example to explain how to set the

situation of traffic light.

Step 1: Set flashing time below the picture of yellow light. Value: 300.

Step 2: Select Flash Mode as “FLASH UP AND DOWN”.

: Lighting without flashing.

: Set flashing mode to the traffic light. As the figure above, the yellow light

is set to flash up and down in a cycle of 300ms.

: Switch off flashing light.


Step 3: Click “Send”.

9. Program Update
9.1 Update FPGA Programme
When updating FPGA programme, you must choose a FPGA programme matching the LED

screen. Otherwise, it may cause abnormally display or even unable display. Even more, the control

board may be burned. In conclusion, you should choose a suitable programme according to the

type of the LED screen to update the programme efficiently.

Open Tool\Update FPGA, as shown in the figure below. Click to select a programme you
want to update, then click “Send”.

Note: Use document with filename suffix “.PGA” to update FPGA programme.

9.2 Update CPU

Update CPU programme of the LED screen.

Open menu Tool\Upgrade\Update CPU, as shown in the figure below. Click to select a
programme you want to update, then click “Send”.

After finishing update of the programme, it will be a short period of time to wait for about 1

minute. Then switch off the LED screen and restart it, the CPU programme will be updated to the

control board of the LED screen.

Note: Use document with filename suffix “.CPU” to update CPU programme.
