3. Functional restrictions
3.1. Remaining Issues

The following issues will be corrected in maintenance release (Beginning of February, 2012).
1. The width of border lines become uneven if the boarder line is specified with the combination job on the PCL Driver.
2. The Missing Image icon is displayed when the magnification ratio is manually changed in the N-up mode though no loss of
image happens by the image rotation.
3. When using MFP through the PageScope My Print Manager, the Personal Address Book can not be edited from the control
panel on the MFP because the Edit button is not displayed.
Please edit the Personal Address Book on the PageScope My Print Manager.
4. The shortcut key for Scan/Fax program is kept shown on the top menu after deleting the Scan/Fax program if it has been
assigned for the top menu when using the MFP through the PageScope My Print Manager.

If the shortcut key is touched, the Scan/Fax program that has been deleted will be registered again.

[Workaround]
Logout once, then login again.
5. When the staple is empty on FS-535, it is possible to select the center staple from the Post Inserter. (The job is printed out
without staples.)
6. When the size of paper fed from the paper tray is smaller than the size manually selected, the following symptom may occur.

- The paper exit roller of FS-535 is continuously rotated and then a jam status is displayed on the panel.

[Workaround]
Open and close the front door of FS-535.
7. The following function in the Finisher Components Test Mode for FS-535 does not work.

- M6/Paper Output - Driven Roller Position Movement M : Large Opening

8. If "Minimal" is selected in TTI Character size setting, the TTI Header and the FAX image may be overlapped.
9. When the document list in the following boxes is displayed, the document list disappears for a moment if new document is
being saved in the Box.

- ID & Print User Box

- Memory RX User Box
- Re-Transmission User Box
10. The Conflict Error is not displayed on the combination of 1200dpi and the following function on printer driver.

- Copy protect
- Repeat Stamps
- Copy Guard
- Password Copy

Although the above combination can be selected, it is not reflected to the printing result.

[Workaround]
Select 600dpi if uses of the above combinations are necessary.
11. On the MFP with PK-520, the EU 4-Hole is automatically detected without detecting PK-520(2/4-Hole) in Device Option of
printer driver.
There is no PK-520(2/4-Hole) in Device Option of printer driver.

[Workaround]
Select "PK-520(2-Hole)" manually on the Device Option of printer driver if you would like to use PK-520(2-Hole).

12. On the MFP with FS-535 (PI unit is not installed), the "Cover open" message may keep displayed if the folding output tray is
moved up and down repeatedly.

[Workaround]
Turn the main power switch off and on if above symptom is occurred.
13. The Controller Details Screen is not displayed even if touch the Fiery icon (Info Icon).

[Workaround]
Please display the Controller Details Screen from the Utility button.

The following issues will be corrected in maintenance release (Beginning of April, 2012).
1. When the firmware is installed on an MFP, the control panel shows pinkish snowy screen for a moment before FW download
screen is displayed.
2. If the "readme" is opened by the Auto Run in the CD-ROM that is comes with the MFP using IE8 or IE9 then print it by using
XPS preview function, an error message is displayed and it can not be printed.
3. Many abnormal image pages are printed if the resolution of the print job is set to 1200 dpi on the PCL driver that was
automatically created by the Citrix UPD on the Citrix environment.
4. The following symptom may occur if the Machine Adjust, the Imaging Process Adjustment and so on are carried out on the
service mode many times without turning the main power switch OFF and ON after finishing the service mode.

"Registration of the job reached the maximum..." may be displayed when copying or scanning.

[Workaround]
Turn the main power switch off and on after service mode is finished.
5. When using a MFP through the PageScope My Print Manager, an error message is displayed and no print is possible if
printing a job with the watermark from the PCL driver.

[Workaround]
Use a printer driver other than PCL driver.

The following issues will be corrected in maintenance release (End of January, 2013).
1. User Authentication fails if the following operations are executed while the Primary Enhanced Authentication Server is in out
of operation.
- Log in from the network (PSWC etc.) while being logged in from the operation panel.
- Log in from the operation panel while being logged in from the network (PSWC etc.).

3.2. Functional restrictions

1. If the following procedure is operated by using XPS driver, all sheets are printed out as one set though multiple sets of copies
are specified on the printer driver. (This is a problem caused by the application software.)
1. Set the number of copies on the Adobe Acrobat X.
2. Open "Page Setup..." and printing the job after click "OK" button.

[Workaround]
Set the number of copies in properties of the printer driver.
2. An MS-Excel file that can be printed as one page with 600dpi setting may be printed in 2 pages if the resolution is changed
from 600dpi to 1200dpi. (This is a problem caused by the application software.)

3. If the IPP connection is selected on the Port setting of XPS Driver and the preview function is enabled, the following
symptom occurs. (This is a problem caused by the OS.)
-Although the print job is correctly completed, an error job remains in the spooler. The error job will be automatically deleted
afterward.

4. Printing becomes impossible when XPS driver is installed by the following procedure (SMB). (This is a problem caused by
the OS.)
- XPS driver is installed by SMB Browsing from Network.
- XPS driver is installed by IP Address Browsing from Network.

[Workaround]
Perform the following steps, when you install the XPS driver via SMB.
1. Open the Devices and Printers, then click [Add a printer].
2. Select the [Local printer].
3. Select the [Create a new port] and choose the [Local Port].
4. Enter "¥¥NetBios name¥service name" for the [Port Name].

* Refer to the Readme.txt file which is included in each driver and application for other functional restrictions.

* Additional memory installation is required when using the following Open API function.

4. How to install
4.1. How to install program
Use USB memory to install. For the details, see the Service Manual.
Conditions for USB memory which can be used for updating the firmware are as follows:
- Securities such as data encryption and password lock shall be released, or the security function shall be turned Off.
- Memory with 1 GB to 2 GB are recommended (One with 4 GB or more may not operate)
- Compatible with USB Version 1.0/2.0 interface
- Formatted with FAT32 type
- A USB flash memory that appears as multiple drives on a computer cannot be used.

4.2. How to check card version

[ROM version]:
You can check the ROM version in service mode, "Firmware Version”
For the details, see the Service Manual.

4.3. How to install movie data

Use USB memory to install. For the details, see the Service Manual.

4.4. How to install voice data

The following options are required to use the voice guidance function.
- EK-604/ 605 (local interface kit)
- i-Option LK-104 v3
Use USB memory to install. For the details, see the Service Manual.

4.5. How to install OCR Dictionary Data for Searchable PDF and PDF/A Font Data
Use USB memory to install. For the details, see the Service Manual.
i-Option kit is required to use these functions.

4.6. How to install Unicode Font Data and OCR Font Data
Install these functions using LPR command from the PC.

4.7. How to install Loadable Driver
1. Extract the attached exe file and save “xxxxxx.tar” file to root directory of USB memory.
2. Insert the USB memory to USB port of MFP.
3. Turn ON the main switch.
4. Call the Service Mode to the screen.
5. Touch [System 2] -> [Driver Install].
6. Touch [SET] and press “Start” button to start installing the data.
7. Check that data is normally installed from the message that appears on the control panel.
8. Turn OFF/ON the main switch.
9. In the Service Mode> Billing Setting> Management Function Choice, select “Card” or “Body” in “Authentication
Device2” and press “OK” button.
10. Turn ON/OFF the main switch.
