Synopsis
We will collect samples of CBA from thermal power plants in Bangladesh. These samples will undergo laboratory testing
to determine their physical and mechanical properties such as gradation, compaction, strength, and durability. We will
compare these properties with traditional base course materials. Additionally, we will conduct field trials to evaluate the
performance of CBA-based pavement base courses under real-world conditions. Furthermore, we will conduct an
environmental impact assessment, including a carbon footprint and resource conservation analysis. Finally, we will
perform an economic feasibility analysis to consider material costs, construction costs, and maintenance costs.
On average, asphalt remains intact for 25 years; however, there are numerous factors that can affect its lifespan, such as the
climate, traffic and whether a routine maintenance is performed. Pavement maintenance is essential for ensuring good
riding quality and avoiding traffic congestion, air pollution, and accidents. This study is divided into two parts –
questionnaire and case study. The questionnaire focuses on the factors affecting the lifespan of asphalt pavement. The total
number of respondents will be a minimum of 150-250. After data collection, a statistical analysis software (SPSS) will be
used for evaluation. Meanwhile, the case study will focus on assessing the durability and lifespan of completed road
projects, specifically in Bangladesh
Treatment of unsuitable subgrade soils is generally accomplished by modification, stabilization, or removal and
replacement. Modification refers to a short-term subgrade treatment that is intended to provide a stable working platform
during construction. Stabilization refers to a subgrade treatment intended to provide structural stability for improved long-
term performance. Removal and replacement, as the name indicates, involves removal of the unsuitable subgrade soil and
replacement with a select material (usually granular backfill). Sampling will be conducted in the area of highly potential for
inundation for road subgrade analysis. If required, access to the site will be applied through relevant authorities. Testing
such as Atterberg Limit and CBR will be done accordingly. For simulation analysis, software such as PLAXIS will be
used.
The research methodology involves a thorough examination of historical accident data, road design parameters, traffic
patterns, and environmental factors. Utilizing advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques, this study seeks to
identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies that can be attributed to accidents. By integrating these findings into the
Integrated Design Consistency Model, a predictive framework will be developed to forecast accident likelihoods and assess
potential safety improvements.
