impossible to memorize all the layouts and
instructions. This guide is to be used as a
reference and a learning tool for when you are
stuck!

Wood Items

Trees are the main-source of wood in

Minecraft. For each kind of tree, for example
Oak and Birch, there is a different kind of wood.
When you cut down a tree, you will be given
logs. These logs can then be used to make any
kind of wood item you may need!

Wood Planks

Wooden planks are one of the most

fundamental items in the game of Minecraft. To
make planks, just place at least 1 log of any
kind of wood into the crafting table, and 4 wood
planks of the same colour will be crafted.

Sticks

Sticks can be used in a large variety of

items, most importantly tools and fences. Sticks
are also used in the construction of torches,
one of the most important items in Minecraft!

If you want to craft anything that requires

more than 4 components, you will need to make
a Crafting table! Crafting tables are made with 4
planks.

Torches are one of the most important items

in Minecraft, as they can light up your entire
builds, and prevent mobs for spawning! To
make 4 torches, you will need one piece of coal
and one stick

nearby. You can place all your unused
materials in a chest and keep them safe! A
chest is made with 8 wood planks, forming a
square.

Doors are great for keeping unwanted pests

out of your house! 3 doors can be constructed
from 6 pieces of wood planks.

No fence is complete without a gate! To

Beds are actually very important in

Minecraft, as they are used as spawn locations.
To craft a bed, you will need 3 pieces of wool
and 4 wood planks. Any colour wool can be
used!

Bookshelves can be used as excellent

decorative blocks, but their main purpose is to
enhance your enchanting table, and produce
better enchantments! 6 wood planks and 3
books are needed in a bookshelf.

large bodies of water without drowning. TO
build a boat, you will need 5 pieces of wood

Paintings are great decorative items ir

many different sizes and images that it may
become! TO make a painting, you will need &
sticks and one block of wool.

exploring your world. They allow you to climb
up steep cliffs quickly and safely! To make 3
ladders, place 7 sticks in an ‘H’ shape!

Stone and its derivatives are very common

blocks in Minecraft. Stone is a naturally
occurring block found under the layer of dirt in
any world. When mining stone, you will receive
cobblestone unless a silk touch pick is used!

Furnace

The furnace is an essential item in your first

days of Minecraft. It allows you to smelt items,
such as ores and cobblestone, into more useful
products. Furnaces are made with pieces of

Cobblestone walls act much like fences, you

cannot jump over them and they will join

and wood. A slab is half the size of a regular

found in the mysterious Stronghold, which
made it very rare. Now, you can craft this block

A redstone comparator is a nifty litte device,

however it can be very complicated to use. It

Redstone Lamp

The redstone lamp is activated by a

redstone current, and will turn on a very bright
light! One glowstone and 4 redstone dust

Dispensers, when activated by redstone,

will soit out a random item that you have put
inside it! It is made with 7 cobblestone blocks, a

however it will only drop the item right in front of
it, while the dispenser will shoot one out. It is

arm to move any block that is in front of it by 1
