Research Question
Research Question
1. First of all, I would like to ask you, how many years have you been teaching? What classes do you
currently teach?
2. Please share your assessment, how do you define a "good lesson", what do you mean by this term? What
should a "good lesson" look like?
For me, a good lesson means a well-defined lesson based on some goal, where all students are equally
involved, in my opinion, if the student learns something new during that lesson, then it turns out that it was
a good lesson for him. If I also observe and report that they have understood the newly explained issue well
and are completing the tasks, I will call the given lesson a good lesson.
3. Tell us about one of your lessons (inquiry: how do you conduct a lesson? What mood do you enter the
lesson with? Do you think the pre-mood is important? How does the mood affect the lesson process in your
case?).
I think how you enter the lesson is very important and often affects the quality of the whole lesson.
Personally, I always enter the lesson in a cheerful mood and I always try to stay that way. If the teacher
enters the class in a bad mood, the students notice it and are not in the mood to learn. Personally, when I
teach mathematics to students, I always try to I explain all new issues in a funny language and introduce
different activities to the class, which makes learning easier, and according to my observation, students
absorb the studied issues more easily.
4. As you know, our goal is to find out which methods are suitable for teachers in the teaching process.
Based on your experience, how do you think teachers teach
What modern strategies do you know? (Qualifier: Which one do you know?)
I know quite a few teaching strategies related to student engagement and creating a better quality lesson.
From them, I can remember different kinds of games, conducting Olympiads in the classroom, creating
nominations, gamification, creating presentations, as well as teaching by drawing, I often play games with
my students through applications and do various tests.
5. Do you think that using these strategies helps teachers? why do you think so
In my experience, such activities help students absorb the newly explained material faster and not get bored
of learning it, because all these activities are associated with novelty for the student and children love to
discover new things.
6. Can you single out any specific modern teaching strategies that particularly caught your attention? What
is the reason?
For me, it has been the best to bring gaming applications into the classroom, because it is easy to get the
attention of all students, even those students who are not good at learning, because when it comes to
games, they look at things with more interest.
7. Can you describe some specific teaching strategies that you regularly use in your teaching practice? how
do you use
My favorite strategy is the drawing teaching strategy, which I use most often in my classes. What this
means is that when I teach math to students and when I teach them a new chapter, I include about 20
problems for the students to do. All students come to the board separately and solve one task, if any
student does the task correctly, he can draw on the board any part of a pre-selected character (for example,
Mickey Mouse). If the student cannot solve the task correctly, he cannot draw. Finally, when the tasks are
finished and the picture is drawn from the beginning to the end, the class wins, however, if the picture is
not completed, the given tasks must be completed by the students at home.
8.Involving each student in the learning process is associated with challenges, what challenges do you have
and do you have specific strategies or techniques that help you promote student engagement? (Clarifier:
What helps you to keep students' attention?)
Personally, I consider the main challenge to be different indicators of learning assimilation. When I open a
new lesson, some people learn things very quickly, while others need more time, and this can cause them to
fall behind. For this reason, I spend more time with such children and try to help them personally and
exercises like that. Let it correspond to its level and not lag behind the new material, which to a large extent
justifies it.
9. As you know, students have different needs and challenges in the learning process. Can you tell us how
you deal with different challenges during the teaching process? What methods have you developed?
Yes, every student needs a different approach when you teach something, that's why I offer them different
types of exercises, adapted to their level, and I often work them in groups so that they can help each other
and learn how to solve a problem with the help of others.
10.Remember the lesson held during the last month, which you would consider successful, and tell us about
it. (Investigation: What was the original idea? How did the process develop? What did and did not meet
your expectations? What got in the way? What was the end result?)
One lesson I remember was when we wrote the tasks to be done on colored sheets and put them in boxes,
then we mixed them up and each student was instructed to take one sheet from the box and do that task.
The lesson actually turned out to be more fun than imagined, and the most interesting process was the
preparation of the activity itself, when all students were involved in the process of creating tasks.
11. Some teachers say that lessons should be planned in advance according to the needs of the students
and the class, according to some teachers, the lesson is a living process and spontaneous decisions are often
needed. What is your attitude to this issue?
Personally, I never plan lessons in advance and conduct the lesson as it fits the situation at that moment,
although it is worth noting the fact that I always prepare tasks and various activities in advance so that I can
provide them to the students on time when they enter the class.
12. Please tell us what your one lesson is like, what resources you use, how you manage the class, are you
mainly focused on explaining the new lesson or on inquiry? Are you able to integrate both points?
I always pay attention to how well my students have mastered the already mentioned material, and only
after that I move on to a new lesson. For this, before moving on to new material, I always highlight the old
material and ask some questions related to it. It can be what you learned the most and what you struggled
with the most. After I already know what the class had the most difficulty understanding, I try to focus on it
again and present the issue in a simpler and more understandable way.
13. In your experience, what types of activities do your students like most? Activities in a formal
environment (auditorium, classroom, training center) or activities in an informal environment (forest,
camping area, youth center, excursion)?
In my opinion, my students like it when the activity is related to games and news, when I give the student
something to do with the game, he is more motivated to engage and complete the task. I think all such
activities that are related to providing something new are more motivating for students and make them
want to learn.
14. In addition to your study area and discipline, what skills do you think the lessons you conduct help the
student to develop?
I think my lessons will help my students to discover the creative person in their head who can find and
develop new and different ways to solve problems.
15. Is the process of organizing motivational activities accompanied by any difficulties? how are you coping
Of course, there are always difficulties, and the most frequent one is non-involvement. All students will
not be equally involved in the learning process in most cases, however, I always try to focus on whether a
given type of activity is in my student's interests, and that's how I choose future activities.
16. Do you think that the educational method used by you affects the student's motivation? why do you
think so
The activities I use have a unique effect on motivation, because when I introduce a new activity into the
classroom, I have observed that engagement increases and even students who have not previously been
involved in the lesson listen attentively.
17. Don't you have any lesson ideas that you plan to put into practice in the future? What would help you
implement this idea?
I do not have such a specific idea, however, my ideas are related to such educational processes, where
students will study the educational material in such a way that they do all this not by force, but by their own
will and motivation. So that they are happy when they complete a task, and I think this is the key to
successful teaching.
1. First of all, I would like to ask you, how many years have you been teaching? What classes do you
currently teach?
I have been teaching grades 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 for more than 20 years.
2. Please share your assessment, how do you define a "good lesson", what do you mean by this term? What
should a "good lesson" look like?
In my opinion, whether the lesson will be good or not directly depends on what the student learned at the
end of the lesson and what he learned new. Therefore, in a good lesson, all students in the class should be
involved in the lesson process and should listen to the lesson of their own free will, without any coercion.
When the teacher can keep the students' attention throughout the lesson, the lesson will definitely be good
and useful.
3. Tell us about one of your lessons (inquiry: how do you conduct a lesson? What mood do you enter the
lesson with? Do you think the pre-mood is important? How does the mood affect the lesson process in your
case?).
The mood at the beginning of the lesson is very important, because I think that the whole learning process
depends on the mood. When you enter the class cheerfully, the students notice it and approach the lesson
positively. However, if you enter the classroom with an angry face, the response of the students will surely
be a boring and boring lesson where they will not want to engage.
4. As you know, our goal is to find out which methods are suitable for teachers in the teaching process.
Based on your experience, how do you think teachers teach
What modern strategies do you know? (Qualifier: Which one do you know?)
There are many learning strategies, but using them in the learning process can be very difficult. Among
these strategies, I can highlight visual learning, technology inclusion in the teaching process, as well as
explaining a new issue through games, group and individual work, projects, conducting various experiments
depending on the topic of the lesson, and others.
5. Do you think using these strategies helps teachers? why do you think so
Such learning strategies are very helpful for students to master new material. This is one of the powerful
tools through which you can interest the student during the course of the lesson. Not every student can
equally understand the newly explained material, however, if you explain it to him in a way that will be
clearer and more understandable to him, he will definitely master this material faster and better.
6. Can you single out any specific modern teaching strategies that particularly caught your attention? What
is the reason?
In my opinion, the most effective strategy is when I ask the students to work on a specific topic and present
the information to the class in the form of a presentation. During the presentation period, almost all
students try to present their project as well as possible and introduce it to the class. In doing so, students
learn a lot and learn how to research, organize and present their chosen topics to an audience.
7. Can you describe some specific teaching strategies that you regularly use in your teaching practice? how
do you use
I really like the strategy of teaching by conducting experiments, because in this process all students are
involved, and one of the reasons for this is the interest in news. Conducting experiments is fun on the one
hand and very useful on the other. Once we conducted an experiment with the students, which was aimed
at studying the structure of leaves, and I asked them to bring a leaf from a different plant, and then we
would observe this leaf under a microscope in class and find out what differences and similarities the leaves
of different trees had. All the students participated in the experiment and I think that the teaching process
also went well. From my observation, the students learned a lot of new things.
8.Involving each student in the learning process is associated with challenges, what challenges do you have
and do you have specific strategies or techniques that help you promote student engagement? (Clarifier:
What helps you to keep students' attention?)
We know very well that not all students will be the same, so it is necessary to approach each of them
differently and teach as the situation of the time demands. Involvement of all students during the study
period is a very difficult process, so I often offer them group work, and I recruit the group using various
criteria. Through this, those students who are more passive, when working in a group, are more motivated
to do something and contribute to the work.
9. As you know, students have different needs and challenges in the learning process. Can you tell us how
you deal with different challenges during the teaching process? What methods have you developed?
As I mentioned, I deal with such challenges in different ways that are specifically tailored to the student,
which can be group work, learning through games, question and answer and various types of tests.
10.Remember the lesson held during the last month, which you would consider successful, and tell us about
it. (Investigation: What was the original idea? How did the process develop? What did and did not meet
your expectations? What got in the way? What was the end result?)
A successful lesson can be defined as the lesson where students learned the most new things. I don't
remember a particular outstanding lesson of the last month, however, the teacher is obliged to lead the
process in every lesson in such a way that he puts maximum effort into the explanation process, in such a
way that the students can learn the necessary material without much effort.
11. Some teachers say that lessons should be planned in advance according to the needs of the students
and the class, according to some teachers, the lesson is a living process and spontaneous decisions are often
needed. What is your attitude to this issue?
I often plan the lesson in advance, which helps me control the time, which allows me to focus more on the
subject and leave some time for final feedback. Yes, the lesson is a live process and it can happen in such a
way that the planned part is completely missed, and I have often had similar cases. But I prefer to conduct
such a lesson where I know in advance what I will talk about and what issues I will focus on.
12. Please tell us what your one lesson is like, what resources you use, how you manage the class, are you
mainly focused on explaining the new lesson or on inquiry? Are you able to integrate both points?
I pay a lot of attention to both parts of the lesson. First I start by surveying the old material. During this
process, I ask a lot of questions and try my best to involve all students in the inquiry. Once the survey of old
material is complete. I'm already opening a new lesson, but before explaining, I ask the students if they have
had any information about this issue. When explaining new material, I try as much as possible to involve the
students in the process and focus on all unclear issues. Finally, in the rest of the time, I perform various
exercises with the class to better absorb the material to be studied.
13. In your experience, what types of activities do your students like most? Activities in a formal
environment (auditorium, classroom, training center) or activities in an informal environment (forest,
camping area, youth center, excursion)?
Informal environment is a favorite activity of most of the students, I have often held lessons in the yard,
which resulted in a positive assessment of the students and they were more actively involved in the learning
process. In such activities, it would be good if we connect the lesson process with different games and
conduct them in that way.
14. In addition to your study area and discipline, what skills do you think the lessons you conduct help the
student to develop?
Perhaps, when explaining the lesson, I always try to give examples that are related to real life situations and
will be useful to the student in the future.
15. Is the process of organizing motivational activities accompanied by any difficulties? how are you coping
Some students are not interested in such activities and try to avoid involvement, but I encourage such
activities by evaluating their involvement with points, thereby motivating them to take the initiative to
participate.
16. Do you think that the educational method used by you affects the student's motivation? why do you
think so
I get pretty good results with the strategies I use in teaching, which has a positive effect on the quality.
These methods are the best way to arouse interest in the student and to deliver the lesson in a variety that
really increases the motivation in the student.
17. Don't you have any lesson ideas that you plan to put into practice in the future? What would help you
implement this idea?
My lesson ideas are related to the practical part, in the future I would like to introduce more experiential
part in the teaching process and in this way provide the necessary material to the students. I also want
students to learn how to find the resources they need without the help of others and be able to process
these resources easily. In the development of such practical and experimental parts, the highly developed
technology at the school was of great help to me.
