1. Pupils look at the word “money” on the board.
2. Pupils work in pairs and a time limit of 2 minutes is given to make a list of the money that is used in different

3. Pupils discuss their ideas as a class and a list is created on the board (euro, pound, dollar, peso, etc).
4. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 63 and read the question for Activity 1.
5. Pupils listen to the audio recording about a message board and state who doesn’t suggest a way of making
money.
6. Pupils compare answers in pairs and later check the answer as a class.
7. Pupils go on to Activity 2 and read the questions carefully.
LESSON 8. Pupils read the text about a message board and answer 5 comprehension questions.
DEVELOPMENT 9. Pupils compare answers in pairs and later check the answer as a class.
10. Pupils go on to Activity 3 and read the questions carefully.
11. Pupils read the text again to answer 3 comprehension questions.
12. Pupils compare answers in pairs and later check the answer as a class.

14. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.

33. Pupils return to their rough draft in Activity 2 and make any necessary modifications.
Differentiated Actvities:
Less proficient pupils: Talk through the seven points, eliciting answers and asking pupils to give explanations for their
answers. Do the same for Activity 2.
More proficient pupils: Write a more detailed rough draft of what teenagers do in Malaysia in their free time
(Activity 2) using up to 250 words.
34. Pupils work in groups and discuss the easiest and most challenging part of creating a plan.
