1. Benefits of internet: as a source of information, entertainment and education.

The Internet has revolutionized the way we access information, entertainment, and
education. As a source of information, the Internet provides us with a vast pool of
knowledge at our fingertips. With just a few clicks, we can access articles, news, research
papers, and a wealth of other information on virtually any topic imaginable. In addition,
the Internet has also become a major source of entertainment. From streaming movies and
TV shows to playing online games and listening to music, there is never a dull moment
when you have access to the Internet. For education, the Internet has provided a new
platform for learning and researching. Online courses, tutorials, and educational videos
have made education more accessible and convenient for people of all ages. With the
Internet, students can take classes from top-ranked universities, learn new skills, and gain
knowledge from the comfort of their own homes. In short, the Internet has made the world
a smaller and more connected place with adequate amenities for our convenience.
2. “ It is believed that a man who knows how to divide his time between work and leisure
enjoys happiness”
It is believed that a man who knows how to divide his time between work and leisure
enjoys happiness. Striving for a balance between these two aspects of life is essential for
overall well-being and satisfaction. On one hand, work provides a sense of purpose and
financial stability, but on the other hand, leisure time allows individuals to recharge and
engage in activities they enjoy. When work becomes all-consuming and there is no time
for relaxing, individuals may experience burnout and stress. Similarly, excessive leisure
without work can lead to boredom and a lack of purpose. Maintaining a balance between
work and entertainment means that individuals have time for both pursuits and can create a
fulfilling life. By dividing time equally for both of them, individuals can experience a
sense of accomplishment from work and relaxation and enjoyment from leisure pursuits.
This balance allows for a harmonious life, where both work and leisure contribute to
overall happiness. In conclusion, finding a balance between work and leisure is crucial for
a happy and fulfilling life.
3. “ In my opinion, smoking should be banned in public places.”
In my opinion, smoking should be banned in public places. The harmful effects of second-
hand smoke are well- documented, and exposure to it can increase the risk of serious
health problems, such as heart disease and lung cancer, in non-smokers. Additionally,
smoking in public places is often a source of nuisance and discomfort for many people,
especially those who are sensitive to the smell of tobacco smoke. Moreover, it contributes
to litter and environmental pollution, as discarded cigarette butts and packaging pose a
threat to wildlife and the natural environment. Furthermore, smoking in public places can
set a poor example to young people and encourage them to take up the habit, which can
have serious health consequences for them in the future. By banning smoking in public
places, we can help to reduce the exposure of non-smokers to second-hand smoke,
improve public health and the environment, and discourage the uptake of smoking among
young people.
4. Students should take a part time job. Agree or disagree?
It is said that students should do part-time jobs but within an appropriate level. On one
hand, taking a part-time job can provide students with numerous benefits. For instance,
students can develop important life skills such as time management, responsibility, and
communication, which will be invaluable in both their academic and professional careers.
Working while in school can also help students earn an income, which can boost their
financial independence and reduce the amount of student loan debt they will have to repay
after graduation. Moreover, having work experience can make students more competitive
in the job market after they complete their studies. On the other hand, taking a part-time
job can also be detrimental to a student's academic performance if they are unable to strike
a balance between their work and school commitments. In conclusion, students should
manage their part-time job properly so that they could benefit from the practical skills
obtained and minimize the negative effects.
5. What is a very important skill a person should learn in order to be successful in the
world today?
One of the most important skills that a person should learn in order to be successful in the
world today is effective communication. Good communication skills are essential in
almost all aspects of life, whether it's in personal relationships, in the workplace, or in
public speaking. Effective communication requires being able to articulate thoughts and
ideas clearly and concisely, as well as being able to listen actively and understand the
perspectives of others. This skill can greatly increase one's ability to form and maintain
meaningful relationships, negotiate and resolve conflicts and inspire others. In the
workplace, employees who possess strong communication skills are often more successful
in their careers because they are better able to articulate their ideas, collaborate with their
colleagues, and effectively present themselves and their work. For example, a manager
who communicates effectively is able to clearly convey expectations, provide constructive
feedback, and motivate their team to achieve their goals. Overall, the ability to
communicate effectively is a vital skill that can greatly contribute to a person's success and
happiness in life.
6. “ Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time is more intelligently”
( Henry Ford).
The statement "Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more
intelligently" by Henry Ford holds great wisdom and truth. Failure is a natural part of life
and it can often feel discouraging and overwhelming. However, it's important to
understand that failure is not the end, but instead, it provides an opportunity for growth and
improvement. When we fail, we have the chance to reflect on our actions and identify what
we can do differently the next time. This learning experience can lead to greater
knowledge and understanding, allowing us to approach a situation with a more informed
and intelligent approach. Additionally, failure can be a motivator and drive us to work
even harder in pursuit of our goals. It can also help us build resilience and develop a
growth mindset, enabling us to face challenges with confidence and determination. In
essence, failure is a valuable lesson that can shape us into better, more successful
individuals. In conclusion, instead of fearing failure, we should embrace it as a chance to
grow, learn, and become more intelligent.
7. To be admitted to a university, using the result of study during high school years is
better than that of the university entrance examination.
People say that to be admitted to a university, using the result of study during high school
years is better than that of the university entrance examination. On the one hand, the
grades students earn during high school years accurately reflect their understanding of the
subjects and their ability to perform well in their future studies. Good grades and strong
academic performance can demonstrate to admissions committees that a student is capable
of handling the academic rigors of higher education and can succeed in college-level
coursework. In terms of university entrance exams, they are usually one-time tests that
may not accurately reflect a student's potential or true abilities. These exams can be
affected by a variety of factors such as stress, illness, and lack of preparation, which can
skew the results. In conclusion, using the result of study during high school years is a
fairer and more accurate method for determining a student's potential and ability to
succeed in university.
8. “ He who asks a question remains a fool for five minutes, he who does not ask a
question remains a fool forever”. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?
I strongly agree with the statement: "He who asks a question remains a fool for five
minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever." Asking questions is a
powerful tool for personal and professional growth, as it allows individuals to clarify their
understanding and gain new insights. Moreover, it fosters a curious and open-minded
approach to learning and helps individuals overcome their fears of appearing foolish or
uninformed. When we ask questions, we demonstrate a willingness to learn and a desire to
gain a deeper understanding of the world around us. Furthermore, asking questions can
lead to new ideas, creative solutions, and valuable connections. When individuals ask
questions, they often receive a diversity of perspectives and viewpoints that can broaden
their understanding and lead to innovative thinking. In a professional setting, asking
questions can help build relationships with coworkers and leaders, as it shows interest and
a desire to contribute to the team's success. In conclusion, asking questions is an essential
part of growth and development. Whether in personal or professional settings, asking
questions can lead to valuable insights, creative thinking, and meaningful connections.
9. Share your experience of learning English with your friends.
Learning English with friends is one of the most enjoyable and effective ways for me to
improve my language skills. I am very lucky to have a group of friends who are also eager
to learn English and we regularly get together to practice speaking and reading. We often
take turns reading English texts out loud and then discussing what we have read to check
our comprehension and vocabulary. This is a fun and interactive way to learn, and we are
able to support and encourage each other throughout the process. Another activity we
usually do is watching English movies and TV shows together. We pause the videos
whenever we encounter a difficult word or phrase and then look it up together. This is a
great way to learn new vocabulary in context and to also practice our listening skills. We
also have some native speakers, whom we meet regularly to practice speaking in English
with. This is a fantastic way to improve our pronunciation, speaking fluency, and to gain
confidence in using the language. In conclusion, learning English with friends is a
wonderful experience for me. It provides a supportive and fun environment for learning,
and we are able to make significant progress in our language skills together. I highly
recommend this approach to anyone who is looking for ways to improve their English.
10. “ Online games should be banned”. Do you agree or disagree?
Online games have become increasingly popular in recent years, with millions of people
around the world playing them daily. However, some people believe that online games
should be banned due to concerns about their negative effects on individuals and society.
Proponents of this view argue that online games can be addictive, leading to problems such
as poor academic performance, social isolation, and financial ruin. They also claim that
online games often contain violent and sexual content, which can have a harmful impact
on young people. On the other hand, opponents of a ban on online games argue that the
benefits of playing games outweigh the potential risks. They point out that online games
can improve hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking.
Additionally, they can provide a source of entertainment and social interaction for people
who may otherwise feel isolated or bored. Furthermore, many online games have
educational value and can be used as a teaching tools in schools. In conclusion, while
concerns about the negative effects of online games are valid, a blanket ban on all online
games may not be the best solution. Instead, it may be more appropriate to regulate the
content of online games, especially with respect to young people, and to educate
individuals about the risks associated with excessive gameplay.
11. Energy waste problems around you and suggest the solutions to save energy.
Energy waste is a serious problem that affects us all, and it's becoming more and more
important to address this issue. In my community, I see examples of energy waste every
day. For example, many businesses leave lights on overnight, even when they're not
needed. Homes are also guilty of leaving lights, televisions, and computers on when
they're not in use. These simple actions contribute to a significant amount of energy waste,
and they can be easily prevented with a little effort. To save energy, one solution is to use
energy-efficient products, such as LED light bulbs and Energy Star- certified appliances.
Additionally, turning off lights, electronics, and appliances when they're not in use is a
simple, yet effective way to save energy. Another solution is to reduce unnecessary travel
by car, and instead, choose to walk, bike, or take public transportation. Furthermore,
households and businesses can take advantage of renewable energy sources, such as solar
and wind power, to reduce their carbon footprint. In conclusion, energy waste is a major
issue that affects us all, and we need to take action to save energy. By adopting energy-
efficient products, reducing unnecessary energy use, and utilizing renewable energy
sources, we can join hands to create a more sustainable future for our communities and the
planet.
12. Secondary student’ clothes.
The clothing choices of secondary students can be a hot topic of discussion and
controversy. On one hand, some students prefer to dress in a more casual, relaxed style,
wearing comfortable clothes like jeans and t-shirts. On the other hand, other students opt
for more formal attire, such as dress shirts and skirts, to create a professional image.
Regardless of personal preferences or school rules, it's important for secondary students to
dress appropriately for the occasion. This can mean dressing up for a special event or
dressing in a manner that is respectful and in line with the dress code. Additionally,
clothing can also be a form of self-expression, allowing students to showcase their
individual personalities and interests. In short, the clothing choices of secondary students
can vary greatly, but it's important to dress appropriately and with respect to the occasion
and dress code.
13. The consequences of plastic bags and how to solve this problem.
Plastic bags have been a ubiquitous part of our daily lives for many years, providing a
convenient and cheap way to carry our purchases from the store to our homes. However,
the widespread use of plastic bags has resulted in numerous environmental problems that
are having a significant impact on our planet. The consequences of plastic bags include
littering, marine pollution, and harm to wildlife. Plastic bags are often discarded carelessly,
causing them to end up as litter on the streets, in the oceans, and in other natural habitats.
This litter not only affects the aesthetic beauty of the environment, but it also poses a threat
to wildlife. Marine animals, such as turtles and whales, have been known to ingest plastic
bags, which can cause injury or even death. With all the threats mentioned above, the first
proposed solution is to switch to reusable bags, made from materials such as cloth or
canvas, which can be used multiple times and then recycled when they wear out. Another
solution is to encourage grocery stores and other retailers to offer incentives for customers
who bring their reusable bags, such as discounts on their purchases. Governments can also
play a role by implementing policies that encourage the use of reusable bags and limit the
distribution of single-use plastic bags. In conclusion, plastic bags have caused many
environmental problems; therefore, we need to take action to address this issue
comprehensively.
14. Negative effects of drinking milk tea.
Milk tea is the most favored drink among teenagers but an excessive intake can cause
many problems. Firstly, several studies have stated that mixing milk and tea together can
hinder the absorption of essential nutrients in the body. Therefore, users may be easily in
trouble with stomach bloating or iron and zinc deficiencies. Consequently, milk tea can
cause an imbalance in body chemicals, which is the culprit of pimples and acne on the
face. Another disadvantage is wasteful spending on milk tea. In fact, the price of a cup of
milk tea is equivalent to this of a one-meal serving, even many times more costly. As a
result, students may fast for breakfast or lunch to satisfy their demand for drinking milk
tea. In the long term, this habit will cause a regularly exhausted state. In conclusion, the
frequency of drinking milk tea needs to be controlled strictly to limit the above side
effects.
15. Media you like best.
Out of all the forms of media available, magazines are my favorite, as there is something
special about flipping through the glossy pages and discovering new information on a
variety of topics. One feature I love about magazines is that they cover a wide range of
subjects, from entertainment and sports to science and technology. Each magazine has its
own unique perspective and voice, which makes reading them a refreshing and
enlightening experience. Furthermore, magazines often feature experts in their respective
fields, providing readers with well-researched and informative articles. The quality of
writing and photography in magazines is also exceptional, giving me an aesthetically
pleasing experience. Additionally, magazines provide a break from the constant
bombardment of digital media, as we are able to disconnect from technology and read
something in print form. Overall, magazines offer a combination of education,
entertainment, and relaxation that is hard to find in other forms of media, thus I will
always prefer magazines as my main media source.
16. Parents must ask their children's permission before uploading their pictures on social
networks. What is your opinion about the effectiveness and necessity of this regulation
(250 words).
The regulation requiring parents to ask their children's permission before uploading their
pictures on social networks has been in place since July 1st, 2017. Overall, this rule is a
responsible and respectful approach that can help protect children in various aspects.
On one hand, the regulation is effective in protecting children's privacy and safety. Parents
should respect children's right of being on their own just like adults. By seeking their
children's permission before posting their pictures online, parents are teaching their
children about consent and autonomy, and are promoting a culture of respect for privacy.
Moreover, the regulation helps prevent potential risks to children's safety, such as online
harassment, cyberbullying, or identity theft.
In terms of necessity, the regulation is an important step toward advocating for children's
rights in the digital age. With the increasing use of social networks and the ease of sharing
personal information online, it is important to establish clear guidelines on what is
acceptable and what is not. Therefore, the regulation aims to encourage people to adopt a
mindset that values accountability and consideration for privacy. In conclusion, the
regulation has held great effectiveness and necessity; however, parents and educational
institutions should also join hands to uphold children's right to privacy.
17. Benefits of working in groups.
Working in groups offers numerous benefits and is an essential component of many
professional and academic settings. Firstly, teamwork fosters a sense of community and
helps build strong relationships and networks. When working in groups, individuals bring
their unique perspectives and skill sets to the table, leading to more diverse and creative
solutions. Additionally, group work helps distribute the workload and reduces stress, as
responsibilities are shared among multiple individuals. Group projects also provide
opportunities for individuals to learn from one another and develop new skills, such as
leadership, communication, and conflict resolution. Furthermore, group work enhances a
sense of accountability, as individuals are more likely to take ownership and responsibility
for their tasks when working as part of a team. Overall, working in groups has numerous
advantages that can lead to improved outcomes, increased efficiency, and personal growth.
18. Write an essay of at least 200 words on the following topic: Nowadays, it only takes a
few seconds to translate any foreign language into our mother tongue and vice versa
thanks to Google Translate or other translation apps. Therefore, some people think that it is
a waste of time to learn a foreign language. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own
knowledge or experience.

The availability of cutting-edge translation platforms has facilitated the process of

changing any foreign language into the mother tongue. Although I believe that this
advancement will be extremely beneficial, I oppose the underestimation of studying
foreign languages.
On the one hand, it is understandable for many people to find studying new languages
unnecessary. For one, it only takes translation software a few seconds to provide results.
That would be convenient and time-efficient instead of spending hours learning and using
English fluently. Furthermore, learning a new language requires considerable mental
durability and money. To profoundly understand a language, learners either study through
centers or allocate money to buy reference materials. And they also have to be persistent
for a long time to make progress. That easily makes people burn out and discouraged by
foreign languages.
Despite the aforementioned benefits, I assert that people should not rely on translation
software due to the below drawbacks. Firstly, the translation devices cannot transmit
accurate implications of the speaker. Obviously, communicating directly enables people to
connect effectively with their listeners through tones of voice, feelings, or body language.
Without being aware of these factors, conversations are prone to misunderstandings and
rifts. Moreover, these applications can only translate word-by-word.
This will sometimes result in wrong translations. In conclusion, it is undeniable that
computers these days are a powerful tool for translating because of time-saving and
effortlessness, but this is by no means that people should not need to acquire foreign
languages.
19. Write a paragraph (from 120 to 150 words) about the benefits of a tour by bicycle.
These days, people have a tendency to ride a bicycle on routes to many places in the
country and there is no denying its significant advantages. First, cycling is indubitably the
most convenient method to improve fitness levels. Many scientists indicated that riding at
a high intensity may increase metabolism and build muscle, which results in burning more
calories even at rest. In a long term, it slowly builds up a good resistance to prevent a
variety of diseases such as headaches, aches and pains, and so on. Second, cycling is an
eco-friendly transportation option. In fact, instead of using motorbikes or cars, commuting
by bike is useful to reduce carbon footprint since it requires no gasoline releases and no
smoke into the air. In conclusion, the choice of using a bicycle is proper and should be
spread more widely.
20. It is said that computers will one day replace teachers in the classroom. What’s your
opinion?
Many advocates believe that the advancement of technology in the field of pedagogy will
make the role of a teacher unnecessary one day. However, others, including me, strongly
protest against this thought, for the importance of a teacher in the class.
It is understandable why some supporters indicate that computers can optimize students'
learning process. For one, Computer technology is able to facilitate effective presentation
of information. In detail, computer software can mix eye-catching pictures, colors, and
animations to provide a more fascinating and interactive lesson for learners. This will
result in a greater number of students being interested in studying instead of being
obsessed with boring and wordy lectures. Furthermore, the computer also allows access to
the internet which is an enormous information base. In addition to online classes, there are
also valuable documents shared by experts from diverse countries.
Despite the above outstanding features of computers, the role of the teacher is still
indispensable for reasons as follows. Firstly, only teachers can grasp the learning situation
and guide the best path for students. Not all students in a class are of the same intellectual
level but mindless machines only provide identical knowledge. Moreover, teachers can
unlock one's full potential. Besides teaching responsibilities, teachers also help students to
discover their innate skills.
In conclusion, although there are undeniable advantages of computers in teaching, I am in
favor of the opinion that they cannot become a complete replacement for teachers.
21. Some people think that social networking has made life more complex and stressful.
Do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Regarding the influence of the Internet, a heated debate has arisen as social networking has
brought life more complexity and stress feelings. While advocates of this opinion believe
in its negative effects, others, including me, strongly protest against this viewpoint, for its
advantages outweigh the drawbacks. It is understandable why many supporters agree with
the bad effects of the social platform on life. For one, spending
excessive time on social networking sites could adversely affect one's mood. That is
because social media usually lets social users see the carefully selected best parts of one's
lives, causing them psychological distress after comparing. Moreover, fear of Missing Out
(FOMO) is also a phenomenon that became prominent around the same time as the rise of
social media. For example, teenagers focus on their Instagram feeds all day to make sure
miss nothing. This results in a life of exhaustion from paying attention to numerous people
and events all the time.
On the other hand, there is no denying the advantages of social media. Firstly, it can foster
empathy. For example, on Facebook, there are many groups of working people, who
confide in their difficult stories and then receive much advice from experienced friends.
Secondly, social networking makes the world seem smaller. It is not just one's inner circle
of close friends and family members that social networking sites allow communication.
For instance, family members living abroad can be kept abreast of the latest happenings of
their children. Therefore, it will make the expatriates no longer feel so lonely.
In conclusion, social sites definitely have a negative impact on both people and society.
However, I firmly believe that it is a developed phenomenon since it creates a turning
point for humanity regarding communication and connection.
22. Reading paper books has become less popular among teenagers.
Today, the number of teens reading paper books for pleasure has declined dramatically
because of the following reasons. Firstly, most children now prefer using e-readers or other
smart electronic devices like phones and tablets instead of paper books. That is because
these ways of reading are portable, available online, and convenient. Secondly,
entertainment forms abound on the Internet, enabling users to unwind after stressful days
faster. For example, they usually choose to watch a profusion of videos on YouTube or
connect with friends via social networking sites instead of sitting in retreat and reading
books for longer periods of time. Additional justifications could be that some books have
been converted to movies, making them more attractive to teenage students than the actual
novels. In conclusion, technology has been the primary culprit for the loss of reading
habits in today's youngsters.
23. Introduce some prominent features of your province and its people tourists.
Being born and raised in Bac Ninh city, I always take pride in its ancient culture and
solid people. Despite becoming a metropolitan city, Bac Ninh still has a unique culture,
a civilized land with many cultural and historical relics, folk festivals, and handicraft
villages. The vibrant historic imprints and Vietnam cultural traditions imbued with Kinh
Bac identity are crystallized by cultural heritages and folk festivals. And Quan Ho's
song is the most prevalent since its rhythm expresses gratitude and endearment to the
listeners. Besides, Bac Ninh residents are hospitality, hard-working and creative. With
their skillful hands, local people have created hundreds of skillful professions such as
silk weaving, pottery, carving wood, and folk painting. Therefore, coming to Bac Ninh,
visitors will not only admire a place rich in culture but also have the opportunity to buy
sophisticated souvenirs.
24. Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this is
happening? What can governments and individuals do to help reduce the amount of
rubbish produced?
In today's world, there is a boom in demand for using goods leading to a surfeit of
rubbish. This essay will discuss in detail the underlying reasons for this problem and
what people can act to limit the amount of waste. Several reasons account for the
phenomenon of increased waste generation. Firstly, population increase is the prominent
cause of the excessive production of garbage. That is because each individual in the
world produces an amount of litter, and the more people, the more waste inflates. As a
result, the garbage keeps piling up without being treated even though some waste
treatment plants are operating at full capacity. Secondly, consumerism also contributes
to the growing production of rubbish. That means people buy products they do not even
need and once a new model hits the market, they will throw the old away. They are
neither concerned nor aware of the impact of their actions on the environment.
This alarming phenomenon could be battled against with appropriate solutions. First and
foremost, the government should enact some stringent laws such as banning the use of
plastic and boosting recycling mandatory. Moreover, individuals can help alleviate this
burden on the environment by promoting the use of environmentally friendly items
when shopping. For example, instead of reaching disposable plastic bags when picking
up fruits and veggies, citizens can bring reusable produce bags to the grocery store.
In conclusion, it takes efforts from both governments and residents to minimize the
amount of waste with proper solutions, which are promulgating some laws and using
environmentally friendly products.
25. Recently young people are said to be “ Welcome Generation” as they are willing to
face any difficulties. Write a paragraph of about 140 words about how people of your
age in your country deal with challenges in their life.
Born in an era with constant changes, today's generation is called the welcome
generation, referring to people who dare to face all obstacles in life. And the young
people in my country are no exception. First, it shows in their daring to turn challenges
into opportunities, adapting quickly to all circumstances. For example, during the Covid
epidemic, when people were still struggling of losing their jobs, the welcome generation
looked for ways to make money online, and take advantage of online resources such as
social networking sites to build their personal brand and inspire others. Besides, because
of facing strict requirements to become global citizens in the new era, the number of
young Vietnamese people who know foreign languages and basic information
technology has increased swiftly, then creating many opportunities to connect with
international friends. For instance, a girl named Hannah has used Omegle to talk to
foreign friends, teach them Vietnamese culture, and spread passion for foreign
languages to many people. Therefore, this welcome generation is expected to bring
many positive changes to the country in the foreseeable future.
