1. GENERAL
1.1. ATIS
D-ATIS 127.150
1.2. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES
Overflight of the city of Riyadh is restricted except for take-off and landing fol-
lowing the ATC instructions.

1.3. GENERAL
Unless special permission has been obtained from RIYADH APP, RIYADH Final
Approach Sectors or RIYADH TWR as appropriate, flight within Riyadh TMA,
RIYADH Final Approach Sectors and Riyadh CTR shall be in accordance with the
Instrument Flight Rules.
Except for traffic operating within CTR or circuit of other aerodromes having
their own altimeter setting observations, all ACFT operating anywhere within the
Riyadh TMA, Riyadh Final Approach Sectors and CTR shall reference altimeters to
the officially reported QNH for OERK when at or below the TA.
All ACFT landing within or overflying within the Riyadh CTA North/South, Riyadh
TMA/Riyadh Final Approach Sectors/Riyadh CTR are to contact RIYADH CTA North
on 126.0 MHZ, RIYADH CTA South on 124.1 MHZ, RIYADH Approach on 120.0 MHZ,
RIYADH Final Approach Sectors on 119.75 MHz.
Overflight of the city of Riyadh is prohibited except for the purposes of take-off
and landing in accordance with ATC instructions.

1.4. ATC SURVEILLANCE PROCEDURES WITHIN RIYADH TMA/CTA


APT THALES surveillance radar is installed at OERK (24 58 54N 046 43 41E) and is
available to all ACFT within 250NM radius of the radar site. Emergency code
7700, communication failure code 7600 and unlawful interference code 7500 are
monitored.
APT Raytheon ra dar is installed at OERK (24 58 54N 046 43 41E) and is available
to all ACFT within 250NM radius of the radar site. Emergency code 7700, commu-
nication failure code 7600 and unlawful interference code 7500 are monitored.
Monopulse secondary surveillance mode S radar installed at OERK (24 58 54N 046
43 41E) to serve Riyadh TMA and CTA as back-up within 250NM radius of the
radar site.
All ACFT must operate the transponder on the previously assigned code until/
unless otherwise instructed.
Riyadh RADAR provides primary and secondary radar coverage.

1.5. TAXI PROCEDURES


Cargo apron and apron 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D and 6E considered as a blind area.
All ACFT can expect to use a Follow-me vehicle.
Only one ACFT is allowed to taxi-in/-out of the apron at a time or as instructed
by ATC.
All General Aviation ACFT landing at APT can expect to be parked on the GA
area.
The ground movement controller will transfer all arriving ACFT inbound to the GA
apron to GA Apron Control frequency 123.0 MHz after passing the intersection on
H3.

1.6. OTHER INFORMATION


RWYs 15R and 33R right-hand circuit.
Arrival traffic shall keep ADS-B switched on until block-in ACFT stand.

2. DEPARTURE
2.1. DEPARTURE PROCEDURES
Pilots are to call Surface Movement Control when ready to start engines. If the
delay anticipated is less than 15 minutes, start-up clearance will be given; if the
anticipated delay exceeds 15 minutes, the pilot will be informed of the expected
delay before start-up. Any ACFT which fails to start engines within 10 minutes of
start-up clearance may be subject to a modified clearance.
Standard Instrument Departure (SID) procedures are in force, details of which can
be found in the SID charts.

2.2. START-UP, PUSH-BACK AND TAXI PROCEDURES


Departing ACFT on the GA apron call GMC for start-up approval. The ACFT should
then contact 123.0 MHz for push-back. Then call GMC for taxi clearance.
Departure traffic shall switch on ADS-B before start-up.

1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. These temporary charts provide flight crews, operators, providers, concerned personnel
and stakeholders with detailed information and changes in Royal Aprons at OERK during
the markings implementation and the final layout once the work is completed.

1.2. The project plan is divided into four phases, each phase will cover an apron and the aprons
will be fully closed during the markings work:
- Phase 1: Apron 9
- Phase 2: Apron 7
- Phase 3: Apron 8 (West stands)
- Phase 4: Apron 8 (East stands)

Note: Refer to chart 20-8A for illustration of prior parking stands & phasing layout.
Refer to chart 20-8B for illustration of new taxilane and parking stands layout.

2. VALIDITY
A NOTAM will be issued prior starting of the work on each apron to announce the apron closure
and the commencement of the layout changing and markings activities. Once the remarking works
are completed the NOTAM will be replaced to mention the works completion and to announce
the next working phase commencement.

3. PURPOSE
3.1. During the on going works, pilots must exercise caution when taxiing near the working area.

3.2. Refer to NOTAMs in the daily bulletin (PIB) for the start & end dates of remarking work phases.

Pushing back traffic out of stand 53 must be pushed back facing north all the way to taxi out
through Twy Q.
7.3. Note: Stands G1*, R1* and 55 must not be used till the completion of phase 4.

There are two lead-in lines at several gates,


where the second lead-in line is assigned for wide body acft.
At gates 12, 22, 32, the second lead-in line (i.e. Centerline B, or CL B)
is aligned on the right side of the DGS display unit.
At gates 17, 27, 37, the second lead-in line is aligned
on the left side of the DGS display unit.
Pilot must not proceed beyond the bridge, unless the arrows have been CL A CL B CL B CL A
superseded by the closing rate bar.
