you or others.

The other one is CAUTION, it indicates something

that could harm your scooter.
WARNING

things are new. Once you understand all the
controls and features, you’ll be ready to hit the road.

• MAINTENANCE IS A MUST

Along with good ride handling skills, regular

inspection and maintenance are essential for a
great experience. Following these simple rules will
make sure that your warranty stays intact.

• NO TINKERING

We know you wouldn’t mess around with the high

UNDER-SEAT STORAGE

Smartly designed to accommodate a full-sized

helmet, it also has an LED strip lamp so that finding
things in poorly lit parking spaces is easier. Carry up
to 15 kg and a volume of 22L.

LED

CAUTION

Do not overfill the under-seat storage. A simple

check: the seat should close effortlessly when you
drop it down. If you need to press it down, it’s
over-packed and there is a high possibility that it
gets damaged.

CAUTION

The storage box is built to be rain-proof. But water

can seep through if a pressure jet wash is used to
clean the scooter. Remember to empty the
under-seat storage before washing. Always store
the portable charger in its cover to protect it from
water leaks.

THINGS TO KEEP
IN MIND

STRONG AND SILENT MOTOR

So silent, you won’t even realise it’s running. Keep

an eye on the dashboard for the motor OFF/ON
indicator. Use the kill switch whenever at signals to
avoid accidents from any unintended acceleration.

SUPER RESPONSIVE BRAKES

Both the wheels have pretty responsive disc brakes.

So press the brakes gently, until you get used to
them.

HYPER QUICK MOTOR

Electric motors have a higher torque, which means

the acceleration will be quick and sudden. Take it
easy on the accelerator till you get a hang of it.

On the road 15
GOOD (AND NEW) THINGS TAKE TIME

Park AssistTM is something new. The speed while

going forward is 5 km/h and 3 km/h in reverse. It’s
just better to be extra careful to make sure that
nobody gets hurt.

On the road 16
SAFETY AND OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS

• As a precaution, wear appropriate safety gear

while riding: a helmet that conforms to prescribed
standards, eye protection gear, riding boots and
gloves.

• Do not consume alcohol or drugs that affect your

reflexes, before or while you are riding.

• Do not overload the floorboard. It can handle up to

30 kg of weight. We recommend that you distribute
the weight evenly for better ride handling.

• If you have been riding in the rain, wait for 15

minutes before plugging in the scooter. Wipe off the
water on the port using a soft, dry cloth.

• Never allow others to ride without proper

instructions and licences as per applicable state
laws.

• We strongly advise against any alteration or

modification, as they may cause safety hazards.

On the road 17
PRECAUTIONS FOR A
SAFE ELECTRIC RIDE

• In case of an accident, do not touch wiring

connectors or the wired components.

• In the highly unlikely event of a battery fire,

extinguish the flame by flooding it with a lot of water.
A water hose should be used, and the person doing
this must be at least a couple of metres away from
the scooter. Make sure the scooter is unplugged
from the charging point. If it isn’t, switch OFF the
main power supply immediately to cut off the
electricity flow.

• Once the fire is extinguished, keep flooding the

battery with water every 30 minutes, for up to 2
hours. Check on it at regular intervals for a few
hours to be extra sure that the fire doesn’t re-ignite.

On the road 18
CAUTION

Never lift the scooter by pulling the handlebar.

WARNING

In case of fire, please call customer support to let us

know and we will provide any assistance required.

1 PARK ASSISTTM

To move in reverse press the Park AssistTM button

when stationary. Slowly rev the throttle (RHS
handlebar) to start moving backwards. To move
forward in Park AssistTM, press the “Activate motor”
button before revving the throttle.

WARNING

Kick back the side stand, before you start riding. For
your safety, the motor gets activated only when the
side stand is disengaged.

On the road 24
MAINTAINING SPEED

Rev the accelerator throttle and use the brakes to

maintain speed. Avoid using both the accelerator
and the brake at the same time.

SLOWING DOWN AND BRAKING

Bring the throttle back to zero. Either use the

Combined Braking System or apply both brakes
simultaneously to bring the scooter to a halt. Use
the kill switch to turn the motor OFF, in case you plan
to stop for some time.

On the road 25
CAUTION

In wet weather, it takes longer to slow down or come

to a halt. Start braking a little earlier than you would
normally, especially when going around corners and
turning.

WARNING

Any unintended acceleration could injure you or

others on the road. Use the motor kill switch at any
traffic stop.

On the road 26
REGENERATIVE
BREAKING

Recover the scooter’s kinetic energy and convert it

to be stored in the battery. To activate Regenerative
Braking, the battery should be below 80% and
speed, above 20 km/h.

HOW TO ACTIVATE IT?

Press the brake levers or rev the throttle in the

opposite direction (anti-clockwise). Algorithms
dictate the amount of regen, depending on the
battery state and speed of the scooter.

REGEN DISABLED

Regen is disabled when the charge status is high

(higher the remaining range, lesser the regen) or
when the battery temperature is high.

CAUTION

The scooter can’t be brought to a halt using

regenerative braking as it gets activated only when
you’re going over 20 km/h.

On the road 27
CAUTION

The scooter may be throttled down to Eco Mode

when the battery charge is too low.

WARNING

In case of errors or glitches, performance may be

restricted to ensure the rider’s safety. If this
happens, please contact customer support
immediately.

Disclaimer: Riding modes are only in the Pro.

On the road 28
TURNING THE SCOOTER
OFF AND PARKING

STOPPING YOUR SCOOTER

Bring the accelerator throttle back to zero. Use the

kill switch to turn OFF the motor. Turn the key back
to the LOCK position and remove it.

If Guide-me-home Light is ON, the headlight will

switch OFF automatically in ~15 seconds.

Disclaimer: Guide-me-home Light is only available with the Pro.

On the road 29
CAUTION

The key should be removed anytime the scooter is

left unattended. You don’t want somebody
stealing it.

PARKING

Use your left foot to disengage the side stand.

Always engage the side stand when you’ve to park.
Also, always try to park on level and firm ground.

CAUTION

Park under shade wherever possible. Continuous,

long-term exposure to sunlight could cause
discolouration of the screen. Lesser exposure to
heat is good for battery life and display health.

WARNING

• Always use the kill switch if the side stand is

engaged.
• Do not sit on the scooter when parked on the side
stand.
• Do not move the scooter with the side stand
engaged.
• Always ensure the side stand is completely
opened up while parking.

HIBERNATION

When the scooter is not in use (unplugged, with the

key turned OFF), the electronics consume
negligible power. The battery drains extremely
slowly. But, if you don’t ride for around 25 days, you
should charge for a few hours before you head out.

HOW TO SHUT DOWN

By heading to the settings section on the

dashboard.

CAUTION

Charge your scooter every 100 days. It’s a must,

even if the scooter is in Shutdown Mode. This
prevents permanent damage to the battery pack.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

WHEN NOT IN USE

If you are not using your scooter for more than 5

days, leave it in Shutdown Mode to prevent

QUICK CLEAN-UP

Regularly cleaning the vents avoids the risk of

damage caused due to insufficient ventilation,
choking and insulation of the heat dissipation
components. Keep the motor and battery vents
spic and span.

EXTEND YOUR BATTERY LIFE

• Use of Optimised Charging feature is

recommended. It helps control battery ageing.
• Always use the original charger provided by Ather
to charge your vehicle. Avoid using 3rd party
chargers.
• Shut down (vacation mode) the vehicle when it
remains idle for a few days, to prevent accidental
battery draining.

Disclaimer: Optimised Charging available only with the Pro.
