Applications are invited for two-year (4 semester) MBA, MBA (Health Care Management) and
MBA (International Finance) programmes for the Academic year 2024-25 at the Department of
Commerce & Management Studies (DCMS), University Campus, University of Calicut and at the Self
Financing MBA centres (School of Management Studies) under the Department. Applications are
also invited for admission to the merit seats of Self-financing MBA institutes/colleges affiliated to the
University (excluding admission to autonomous management colleges) (Please see the list of MBA
colleges/SMS Centres in Appendix I) and for the Part-time MBA (Evening programme - Self
Financing - 4 semesters). If sufficient number of candidates do not prefer any of the centres for
the MBA evening programme, the programme will not be offered at that centre.
Candidates seeking admission under Management quota in Self financing MBA colleges
shall also register online under the University, though the admission of such candidates is
directly done by the colleges/institutions concerned.
I. Eligibility :
Any degree of the University of Calicut (including degree Programmes of the SDE/Open
Degree programme of SDE, University of Calicut) or that of any other University or Institute or
Institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE. Programmes of other Universities or Institutions shall
be in 10+2+3 pattern (or 10+2+4) under regular stream or distance education stream, recognized
by DEC/UGC. In all the cases, the student should have passed the Bachelor Degree examination
with not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate, including the marks of languages, if
any (without approximation, that is, 49.9999 % is not eligible since it is less than 50%). SEBC and
SC/ST students are allowed relaxation in marks as per rules (i.e., 5% relaxation for SEBC & Other
Eligible Communities and a mere pass for SC/ST/PwD).
Applicant must obtain a valid score in any one of the following Management Aptitude Tests:
Two years work experience is required for MBA evening programme in addition to the

other requirements. In the absence of adequate number of applicants with two years experience,
others would also be considered.
Candidates awaiting their final semester degree results can also apply. However, a ll such
candidates should submit their original Final Mark List/Consolidated Grade Card and Provisional
Certificate to prove the eligibility on or before the closing date of admission fixed by the
University/Admission Supervisory Committee, Thiruvananthapuram from time to time.
II. Selection :
Selection will be based on the combined score obtained in CMAT 2024/KMAT 2024/CAT- Nov
2023, Group Discussion and Personal Interview giving the following weightage :
KMAT/CAT score : 80%
Group Discussion : 10%
Candidates can opt upto 10 programmes of their choice on priority basis from among the
Affiliated colleges / University Centres / DCMS through simple online steps available in MBA
2024 registration page.
III. Qualifying Marks: For KMAT/CMAT/CAT, the General category/SEBC candidates who secure
10% of the total marks and above are qualified for admission for MBA programme in University
Teaching Department, School of Management Studies (MBA Centres) and Affiliated Management
Colleges. For SC/ST/PwD category the qualifying cut off marks is 7.5%.
1. First Step - Mobile Number verification using OTP : Candidate shall create a CAP ID by
providing the basic details using the "New User (Create CAP ID)" link provided in the MBA
2024 registration page. Candidates applying for MBA 2024 shall provide a mobile number
(mobile number of students/parents/guardian only to be furnished) and complete the mobile
number verification using the OTP received in the mobile.
2. Second Step - Details regarding Additional PG : After step 1, the candidates will be
redirected to the page where he/she has to furnish the basic details and the details of
additional PG. After successful submission of the details, a CAP ID and Password will be sent
to the registered mobile number instantly (Mobile number of students/ parents/guardian
only to be furnished).
3. Third Step - Registration Completion and Making Payment : With the CAP ID and
Password received in the registered mobile number, the candidate can login and fill the
registration page by providing required data. Candidates shall take utmost care while
selecting the reservation category during the filling up of registration data. For completing the

registration, candidate shall click on the "Finalise & Proceed to Payment" button and make
payment.
4. A n application fee of ₹ 875/- for General Category and ₹ 295/- for SC/ST Category will
have to be paid by the candidates for completing the registration procedure. All additional PG
candidates shall pay the fee of ₹ 875/- since, additional PG candidates are not eligible for any
fee concession and reservation.
5. During the payment, the website will be redirected to the "University of Calicut Instant Web
Payment System (CUIWPS)" page where the student can select the desired choice of
payment. After successful payment, candidates can collect the print out of application after re-
login using the CAP ID and Password provided earlier. (In case, the payment fails, the
candidate will have to re-login and do the payment procedure once again to complete the
payment and obtain the printout of the application). Print out of the application will be
provided only if the payment is successful.
6. Candidate's application will be considered complete only if he/she has completed the above
mentioned steps and is holding a finalised printout.
7. The candidate must mention the CAP ID in all future communications.
8. The applicants shall update themselves with the University website admission.uoc.ac.in and
the University press releases for the latest information related to the admission process.

10. Fee once remitted will not be refunded or adjusted for any other registration
purposes.
1. 'Open All India Quota' applicable only in the University Teaching Department : 10% of
sanctioned seats or 2 seats, whichever is higher are created for MBA programme offered at
University Department (DCMS) only, in addition to the total sanctioned seats, earmarked as
'Open All India Quota' reserved for applicants who are natives of states other than Kerala
subject to the following conditions. (U.O No: 3259/2020/Admn dated 11.03.2020).
1.1 If there are no applicants for 'Open All India Quota', the additionally created seats
shall be cancelled.
1.2 Communal reservation shall not be made applicable for 'Open All India Quota'.
1.3 Applicants for 'Open All India Quota' shall have to produce a valid nativity certificate
issued by the competent authority, at the time of admission.
1.4 Candidates under 'Open All India Quota' shall have to fulfil the eligibility stipulated
for General Category candidates for admission.
1.5 Candidates who take admission under 'Open All India Quota' shall submit
qualifying Mark list/ Grade cards/ Certificates at the time of admission.

1.6 The fees applicable to General Category are applicable to 'Open All India Quota'
students also.
2. The applicants must produce a valid nativity certificate from the competent authority at the
time of admission to prove that they are natives of Kerala.
3. One seat is reserved with the sanctioned strength for the ethnic native Lakshadweep
candidates, who are eligible for admission based on the sponsorship letter from the
Lakshadweep Administration, subject to eligibility (U.O. No:14933/2016/Admn dated
26.12.2016). However, they have to pay fee as is fixed for ST category (U.O.
No. 8113/2022/Admn dated 02.04.2022, U.O.No.12753/2022/Admn dated 28.06.2022).
4. The Directorate of Admissions/Dept. of Commerce and Management Studies (DCMS) are
authorised to conduct Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Admissions, as per rules,
and to allot students to Affiliated colleges/MBA centres.
5. All candidates seeking admission including those who seek admission under Management
quota in affiliated self financing MBA colleges shall register online. Admission can only be
made from the rank list prepared by the University including management seat. The
candidates who seek admission under Management quota shall submit a copy of the print-out
of the online application at the college where they propose to take admission.
6. Candidates shall update themselves with the University Website
(www.admission.uoc.ac.in) and with the University Press releases for the latest information.
7. Claim for Communal reservation under ‘Socially and Educationally Backward Classes’
(SEBC): Reservation of seats to the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes will be in
accordance with the provisions contained in G.O. (P) 208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, and G.O.
(P) 2/2017BCDD, Dated 8.3.2017 as amended from time to time. Candidates claiming
reservation under SEBC Quota should invariably produce both community and non-
creamy layer certificates obtained from the Village Officer/Thahsildar at the time of admission.
Candidates whose annual family income is above the amount stipulated by the Govt. for this
purpose from time to time are not eligible for reservation. The seats unavailed by SEBC
category candidates will be filled from open quota.
8. Claim for Reservation under Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes Quota: Candidates
claiming reservation under Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes quota should obtain the
Caste/Community Certificate from the Tahsildar. The seats unavailed by the SC candidates
will go to ST candidates and vice versa.
9. Claim of OEC candidates against the un-availed seats of SC/ST candidates: Other
Eligible Community (OEC) candidates who claim allotment to the un-availed seats, if any,
under SC/ST quota should furnish Community and Income certificates obtained from the
Village Officer. Those OEC candidates whose annual family income is up to the amount
stipulated by the Govt. for this purpose from time to time alone are eligible for admission to
such seats.
10. EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) : Candidates coming under SC/ST/OEC/SEBC are
not eligible for EWS reservation. Only general category candidates who are not enjoying any

communal reservation and belonging to economically weaker class are eligible for EWS
reservation (U.O.No. 10306/2022/Admn dated 21.05.2022). Seats under EWS quota in all
MBA institutions (institutions which do not have minority status and allow reservation to other
backward classes) will be filled by the University from the registered students belonging to
Economically Weaker Sections.(U.O.No. 4958/2020/Admn Dated, 29.05.2020 & U.O.No.
7158/2020/Admn Dated,28.07.2020 & GO(Ms).No. 216/2022/Admn Dated 07.05.2022 ).
Please see G.O.(Ms) No.23/2022/P&ARD Dated 04.10.2022, which includes the format for
EWS certificate to be obtained from Village Officer. An Income & Assets Certificate below Rs.4
lakh (Appendix II) or AAY and PHH Certificate (Appendix III) issued from Village Officer/
Tahasildar should be produced at the time of admission, by the candidates who wish to
avail reservation under EWS category. In all Self Financing MBA colleges which do not have
minority status and allow reservation to other backward classes, ten percent (10%) of the
seats shall be additionally created over and above the sanctioned strength, excluding
management seats and reserved for the EWS candidates. (U.O.No.7158/2020/Admn Dated,

11. Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : Five percent (5%) of seats within the sanctioned strength
in each institution are reserved for Persons with Disabilities. (U.O.280/2018/Admn dated
06.01.2018). PwD candidates shall produce the medical certificate issued by the District
Medical Board or competent authorities stating that the disability is 40% or above. The
category of the disabilities should be specified clearly in the medical certificate.
12. Sports Quota : One seat within the sanctioned strength in each institution is reserved for
sports quota. The candidates who seek admission through sports quota should register
through the online facility. In addition to this, candidates seeking admission in the University
Teaching Departments/MBA Centres/Affiliated colleges shall submit their application to the
Department of Physical Education (DPE) before the last date of online registration along with
necessary documents for getting considered to be included in the sports quota rank list
prepared by the Department of Physical Education. Only those candidates who have satisfied
the norms prescribed below are eligible for admission under sports quota. [U.O. No.
