Enzo Maresca Analysis 1

Tactically
Defensive Shape: 442
Pressing: Enzo's Leicester City, organized
in their 442, is a team that presses with
intensity and speed, the 2 front players
(Vardy and Hall) force the central
defenders/goalkeepers to pass the ball to
the full-backs, after which players advance
and pressure the opponent, as in the image
below

Enzo's main "tools" in his orchestra are

high pressure, almost suffocating and

anchoring the opponent on one side of the
field, forcing a shot or long pass, strong
pressure on the ball carrier, like a beautiful
apprentice of Pep Guardiola, is The
presence of *Juego de Posición* is
notorious
Build Up:
Build Up with the goalkeeper, libero and
quality feet. The full-back (Ricardo)
appears in central areas of the field,
inverted full-back, calling on the opponent
to pressure and frequently use the
goalkeeper. The objective is to call the
pressure to find spaces on the opponent's
back, with the sprinting extremes Mavididi
and Fatawu

Other:

Statistics: Leicester scored 89 goals in the

championship and conceded 41, 48
difference, best defense and 2nd best
attack
Through your fingers: Leicester was in the
lead with a huge advantage but almost saw
the championship slip away, a fantastic
start almost ended in disaster, the foxes
ended up with a 2 point lead over Ipswish

Enzo Maresca Analysis 4

I hope you enjoyed the short analysis, I
wanted to show the basics, how they press
and how they build, at Chelsea they will
encounter difficulties, they will probably
use a 4-3-3, a team controlling the game,
fluid and pressing
But what intrigues me most is how he will
solve Chelsea's problem against defensive
teams, how he will solve the defensive
problems and how he will assemble the
eleven, I already have my eleven thought
out but let's wait and see
I'm very curious to know how he will adapt
to the Premier League, similar coaches with
the same ideas did badly there, like
Kompany, a similar story let's say or will he
be able to make Chelsea return to the UCL?
Don't expect a formidable and unbeatable
Chelsea, it will be a difficult and changing
year, a place in the Champions League
would be a great achievement for the coach
