CHAPTER5: OUTCOMES DESCRIPTION
Work Environment

 Workplaceexperienceexamineshowallthreeelements–space,technology,andpeople–canwork
together to drive better business outcomes
 Companyhascreatedwaysforalltheinternstosharefeedbackontheworkplaceexperience,some of
them are listed as follows
 Provide more than one method for people to share feedback.
Organization gave more than one option for sharing feedback so interns can use the method
that’s most comfortable. Slack, surveys, and annual feedback sessions are a few methods you
might consider.
 Give Interns clear direction.
I was assigned the role of SEO Analyst ( Role as per company) which is really crucial for
organization to launch a new product /service or acquisition of customers.

As far as work environment is concerned, I have been exposed to new horizons of terminologies
which include Online Marketing, SEO which helps to rank the website in the top pages of search
engine results, Social Media Marketing by utilizing digital media etc., (terminologies as per
company.) I have been taught the career scope of learning the modules, future projections,
technologies that will support these learning.

 Close that feedback loop.

Provided all the interns facilities which included a trainer, mentor and manager who always
closely monitors all the interns–this can be detrimental to intern trust. Follow up with the us to
let us know if you’ vein corporate their feedback. If we haven’t, and made us to be sure to follow
up with why so they know their feedback was considered.

Managerial Skills Learned

It's true that the Managerial skills learnt in the internship can never match those learnt from
classroom. For some people, what we learn in college is never made use of them in real-life
experiences. The managerial skills taught in the organization are practical for any real-life
scenarios. They are not taught how to handle pressure, stress etc., There are many scenarios that
obviously cannot be covered in a few months of curriculum. In a practical experience, we meet
different people, & learnt different things. Managerial skills in theory are very "generic'. This is
not the case in the case of real-life experiences. In real life, depending on the work environment
and people, one needs to change the way work can be managed. It will be unfair to pass
judgment that Managerial skills learnt as an intern can never match those learnt from classroom.
What is learnt in the classroom may not completely match with real-life scenarios, however, the
basics of any manager are patience, ability to motivate and manage a team. Such basics are
always experienced as intern, although in different forms. What really matters is, how well a
manager can handle his company. If the company employees are happy, it does not matter what
he learnt as an intern is being made us off or not. A key to any good manager is to motivate the
Employee and consider their personal issues.
Communication skills Learned
During the course as intern, I have experienced variety of documentation styles and writings
assigned. As an Intern I have been encouraged to improve my communication skills class all
throughout the Internship, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My
writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the
understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new
innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically,
enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning
of this Internship; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience,
purpose; I never really understood the significance of MAP. For this reason, my writing lacked
clarity, organization, and my writings appeared less focused on the topics. As a result, my
research papers and documentations did not flow as smoothly from one passage to the next.
Furthermore, I was unaccustomed with the precise procedure of speaking and writing activities

Technical Skills Acquired

Planning and requirement analysis
Requirement Analysis is the most important and necessary stage in SDLC. The senior members
of the team perform it with inputs from all the stakeholders and domain experts or SMEs in the
industry. Planning for the quality assurance requirements and identifications of the risks
associated with the projects are also done at this stage. Business analyst and Project organizer set
up a meeting with the client to gather all the data like what the customer wants to build, who will
be the end user, what is the objective of the product. Before creating a product, a core
understanding or knowledge of the product is very necessary..

Defining Requirements
Once the requirement analysis is done, the next stage is to certainly represent and document the
software requirements and get them accepted from the project stakeholders.
This is accomplished through "SRS"- Software Requirement Specification document which
containsalltheproductrequirementstobeconstructedanddevelopedduringtheprojectlifecycle.

Designing the Software

Once the requirement analysis is done, the next stage is to certainly represent and document the
software requirements and get them accepted from the project stakeholders. This is accomplished
through "SRS"- Software Requirement Specification document which contains all the product
requirements to be constructed and developed during the project life cycle.

Developing the project

In this phase of SDLC, the actual development begins, and the programming is built. The
implementation of design begins concerning writing code. Developers have to follow the coding
guidelines described by their management and programming tools like compilers, interpreters,
debuggers, etc. are used to develop and implement the code.

Testing
After the code is generated, it is tested against the requirements to make sure that the products
are solving the needs addressed and gathered during the requirements stage. During this stage,
unit testing, integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing are done.

Deployment
Once the software is certified, and no bugs or errors are stated, then it is deployed. Then based on
the assessment, the software may be released sit is or with suggested enhancement in the object
segment. After the software is deployed, then its maintenance begins.

Maintenance-
Once when the client starts using the developed systems, then the real issues come up and
requirements to be solved from time to time. This procedure where the care is taken for the
developed product is known as maintenance.
Team Management Skills

Communication and interpersonal skills –

Good communication skills are essential to succeed in both your professional and personal life. It is one
of the top skills that potential recruiters search for in you and something that can be improved through
internships. During an internship, you might have to communicate with your project managers, write and
respond to the emails ,schedule meetings, articulate your ideas, etc. All these tasks help you improve
various aspects of communication, including your oral and written skills.

Team work and Collaboration –

You might be great at most hard and soft skills at an individual level, however, you’ll be a part
of a team in a professional setting. Hence, most employers expect you to be a team player who
could work and communicate well with the team. Internships provide you an opportunity to
improve this skill. During the internships you get a chance to work and collaborate in teams,
where each person’s contribution matters equally. This teaches you to work with other people
with diverse ideas, meet deadlines, understand your own strengths and weaknesses, etc.

Time Management and Multitasking

Effective time management is essential to find a balance between your daily tasks in the office
and personal life. Besides, good time management allows you to achieve your desired goals with
less effort within the given time. There is no better way than an internship to learn effective time
management strategies. During internships you may have to manage several projects at the same
time, with stringent deadlines. It’s not always possible to finish a task within the stipulated time
because all these tasks may require regular updates. However, as you move on, you’ll learn to be
consistent with your work and will be able to adequately manage a number of tasks, without
missing a deadline.

Assertiveness–
During internships, often you will be asked to do things that are beyond your capacity. This may
not just pertain to things that are above your skill level, but also tasks that take up too much of
your time. You might have projects that require you to be more present than you have time for,
and you might come across teammates who refuse to do as much as you do. These instances
teach you to be assertive, and say ‘no’ when you need to. Assertiveness is an important skill in a
workplace.

Critical Thinking –
Most recruiters value employees who possess good critical thinking skills. These skills are
needed in all aspects of a business as well as in all departments of an organization. Hence, to
succeed in your career, you need to learn and improve your critical thinking skills. Internships
will help you do that. During internships you might face a new challenge every day and with all
these challenges you’ll learn new ways of handling an issue. This exercise improves your critical
thinking skills, where you are taught to not take something for its face value, but truly
understand why it may be beneficial, to whom, and under what circumstances.
Accountability –
This is an inevitable skill you need to have at the workplace. Accountability refers to taking
responsibility for your work (be it right or wrong), decisions, performance, etc. Internships teach
you to be accountable for your own work by providing you hands-on experience to the day-to-
day work in the workplace.
