INTRO: Good morning everyone, welcome to Don Carlos Polytechnic College, Don Carlos
Bukidnon. Formerly known as Bukidnon State College Extension. It was founded on 2006. We
are happy that you choose DCPC to be your training center for your qualification.

ATTENDANCE: Okay, let me check your attendance first, as I can see all of u are present. I
expect that you will be consistent in your attendance during our training. Pls. signed the

TRAINOR’S NAME: By the way I am Monaliza V. Hampas, I will be your Trainor as well as your
facilitator. I am a national certificate holder II, in hair dressing. I am here to help you to acquire
the knowledge and skills that you need for you to be competent.

DATA GATHERING TOOLS: Before we proceed to the proper orientation I want you to have this
and answer the DATA GATHERING TOOLS which is TRAINEES CHARACTERISTIC FORM, SELF –
ASSESSMENT CHECK, & PRE TEST – This form will help me to identify your individual
references…okay!
a. Trainees Characteristic form
- Will help me to manage our training session based on your individual characteristics.
So I will give u 10mins. To answer…Distribute and collect.
b. Self-Assessment Check
- Will help me to evaluate your knowledge & skills based on the qualification.
Answer this in just 10mins. .. Distribute & collect
c. Pre – test
- The result of this form will help me to measure your prior learning & background
knowledge based on the qualification.

Do you have any idea what is HAIR DRESSING NCII?
# OF HOURS: Based on the training regulation Hair Dressing NCII, has a 656 hrs. Or 82 days of
training.
- is a level of qualification with an 8 core units of competency. The units of competencies
are the modules that you are going to master for the qualification. What is meant by
competency? Competency means that u already have the knowledge, skills, and attitude
required to do a task based on workplace standards. The Hair Dressing NCII are under in
HEATLH, SOCIAL, AND OTHER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES SECTOR which
means that you will be working as a hair dresser someday.
THE 8 CORE UNITS OF COMPETENCY ARE:
1. Perform pre- and post – hair care activities
2. Perform hair and scalp treatment
3. Perform basic hair perming
4. Perform basic hair coloring
5. Perform basic hair cutting
6. Perform basic hair bleaching
7. Perform basic hair straightening
8. Perform basic make –up
ASSESSMENT: After completing each unit of competency, you will undergo institutional
assessment and when you passed, you will be issued a COA (certificate of assessment). After
completing all the national assessment in which TESDA will provide the national certificate.

WORK AREA/SHOP: If you look around you will learn most of the 8 core of Competency
required for this qualification. This is OUR workstation. We are currently at the orientation
area. In the right side is the (Introduce the 9 Components of the CBT Workstation here and
emphasize the function of each component)
1. PRACTICAL WORK AREA – WERE IN WE PRACTICE OUR SKILLS AND DEMONSTRATION OF OUR
TASK SHEET AND JOB SHEET HERE IN THIS AREA
2. Institutional Assessment Area – IT IS WHERE WE HAVE TO RECOGNIZED YOUR PRIOR
LEARNING AND ASSESS YOU BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE OF THE QUALIFICATION
3. Learning Resource Area – THIS IS WHERE OUR MODULES CAN BE FOUND AND YOU CAN ALSO
YOUR PROJECTS IN THIS AREA
4. Quality Control Area – WHERE THE METROLOGY AND QUALITY CONTROL IS BEING SCALED
5. Distant Learning Area – your OJT
6. Computer Laboratory – WHERE YOU WILL BE PRACTICING YOUR IT SKILLS BASED ON THE
TRAINING REGULATIONS OF OUR QUALIFICATION
7. Contextual Learning Laboratory – WHERE WE DO OUR LECTURE AND DISCUSSIONS
8. Trainers Resource Area – WHERE THE TRAINER’S PREPARES THE MODULES FOR THE
TRAINING, SO THIS THE PLACE OF THE TRAINER
9. Support Service Area – WHEREIN THE VALUE ADDED COMPETENCIES OF ACP NC II CAN BE
SEEN AND PRACTICED

CBT: Now how are we going to tackle all the UC when we only have very limited number of
days for the training? We will be using CBT (Competency based training). IT IS A DELIVERY
APPROACH THAT FOCUSES ON THE COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT. What are the principles of
CBT. (State the 10 principles of CBT here and thoroughly explain at least 3 principles)
How do we learn?
1. The training is based on curriculum developed from the competency standards – AND THIS
COMPETENCY STANDARDS IS GIVEN TO US BY THE ACTUAL WORKING INDUSTRIES BY WHICH IN
THE FUTURE YOU MIGHT BE EMPLOYED.
2. Learning is competency-based or modular in structure – MEANING EACH TOPIC WERE
CONTAINED IN THE MODULES WERE YOU CAN EASILY PROCEED TO ONE TOPIC TO ANOTHER
3. Training delivery is individualized and self-paced – MEANING YOU DON’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR
YOUR CO-TRAINEES IF YOU ARE READY TO MOVE TO ANOTHER TOPIC YOU CAN DO SO
WITHOUT WAITING FOR YOUR CO-TRAINEES WHO ARE NOT YET READY.
4. Training is based on work that must be performed – AND THIS WORK BASED ARE ALIGN TO
THE ACTUAL WORKING INDUSTRY.
5. Training materials are directly related to the competency standards and the curriculum –
AGAIN THIS IS BASED ON THE ACTUAL INDUSTRY
6. Assessment of learners is based on the collection of evidences of work performance based on
industry or organizational required standards – MEANING YOU WILL BE ASSESS BASED ON
YOUR INDIVIDUAL TRAINING PERFORMANCE WHICH WILL ALSO BE BASED ON THE REQUIRED
STANDARDS.
7. Training is based on and off the job components – OFCOURSE YOU WILL BE HAVING AN OJT
AFTER THIS TRAINING FOR BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
8. The system allows Recognition of Prior Learning -
9. The system allows for learner to enter and exit programs at different times and levels and to
receive an award for competencies attained at any point
10. Approved training programs are nationally accredited – WE ARE ACTUALLY ACREDITTED
AND REGISTERED WITHIN UTPRAS – UTPRAS IS AN ACREDITATION SYSTEM AND THIS ENSURES
THAT WE ARE PROVIDING QUALITY TRAINING.

TRAINING APPROACH:
TRADITIONAL- The teacher dictates the student on what or how the learners will learn.
CBT – The teachers allows the learners on explore & shows the mastery on many different ways
/ will focusing your individual performance / it is more your development as a learner /it also
emphasize on what u can do.

ROLE OF T & F: The role of the


TRAINER – to facilitate learning/ provide guidance & give feedback time to time.
I will not be successful if you will not doing your role as a trainees, so that in general the role of
the
Trainees - A responsible learner, since you are an adult learner.

1. CBLM – IN CBT WE USED CBLM considering AS OUR TEXTBOOK and for your reference this is
a concise and BOUNDED BY THE RANGE OF THE COMPETENCY WE ARE INTO
How do you progress?
WE will EVALUATE YOUR progress THROUGH these different monitoring tools like: TRB,
ACHIEVEMENT CHART, and PROGRESS CHART which will let you see to it if how far you’ve gone
per unit of competency and learning outcomes.
This one here is your Training Activity Matrix, this will serve as your timetable. I will post your
name here and your activities and in what particular area will you proceed. This will be updated
daily. Every day, upon coming here check on this activity matrix.
Evaluation:
HOW DO WE EVALUATE YOU?
You will be evaluated through different assessment methods like: written test, demonstration
and oral questioning. We don’t also have numerical ratings however, you will be rated
competent if you meet the standard criteria requirements and not yet competent if you do not
meet the standards. OKAY?

Do you have questions? Clarifications? If none… then I will now distribute the training
agreement…. This agreement contains that you agree to all the requirements needed for the
qualification.

Ok ! so I will call your name one by one, for my feedback according to your DATA GATHERING
TOOLS..OK?

- MS. Please proceed to the contextual learning area. Maam based on the result you
have a very good in language & literacy average, I found out that you are a visual
learner. Based on the result of your pre – test, you got 20/30. Don’t you worry about
your score because this is just an diagnostic test. Which is to identify if do you have a
prior learning and background knowledge in our qualification. Because of that maam,
you may have this INFORMATION SHEET on how to perform basic hair coloring. Please
read and understand the content. Then if your done you may answer the SELF –
ASSESSMENT CHECK. I will give you 1hour ok? Good luck.

- Ms. Maam, based on the result you are very good in language & literacy, I found out
that you are a college graduate and a kinesthetic learner. Based on the result in your pre
–test you got 28/30, that’s very good maam. It means that you have a prior learning & a
background knowledge based on the qualification. So maam, do you want to have a
institutional assessment? So that I can formally noticed your prior learning…are you
ready maam? In institutional assessment, u may demonstrate or perform basic hair
coloring? Ok maam very good! You have the skills on performing basic hair coloring.
After that maam, I will give you a follow up question regarding on your demonstrstion.

Maam, what are the three kinds of oxidizing or developer? And there function?...
Ok maam very good, it shows the evidence that you have a prior knowledge on
performing basic hair coloring … and now I will give you a CERTIFICATE OF ASSESSMENT

tomorrow you will be demonstrating or performing basic hair coloring. Ok
