2. I read three biographies namely Arief Muhammad, Belva Devara, and Susi Pudjiastuti.
The person who inspired me the most is Belva Devara, why? because he is a young
Indonesian pioneer who prioritizes education. Where he wants children in Indonesia to
get education according to overseas standards as well, and also introduce a learning
application in Indonesia called "Ruang Guru". Belva is also a very educated person and
graduated from the best universities in the world, and can share his knowledge with
others and is very useful for this country.
3. Recount text
When buy a bread
When I was young, I had a terrible bad experience when I was buying some breads for
breakfast. First, I think I had only 15 years old when my mom asked me to go a store
to buy some breads for breakfast. Then, I went on to buy it.When I arrived at the store,
I just realized that I had lost money on the way I went to the store. I could not buy the
bread.After that, I returned to my house. Sadly my mom told me that I should go and
find the money on the way. I could not find it. Finally, I returned to my house again
without the breakfast with breads.

4. Kind of recount text


• Personal recount
These usually retell an event that the writer was personally involved in.
Example:
Very Tired Day
Last tuesday was a busy day for me. I spent my time to do a lot of activities from
mysenior high school to my home. I had no time to take a rest.
First, at the morning, I went jogging. After that I went to school to study until 3.00 pm.
fom my school , I went to sanggarian sport hall to practice badminton until 8.00 pm. I
practiced hard because that I felt very tired. After that, I went home. But when I would
sleep, I remembered there was some homeworks that I had to do. I did my homeworks
untill 11.40 pm. And finally I could take a rest in my bed.
Those activities made my day busy and I felt very tired.
• Factual recount
Recording an incident, eg. a science experiment, police report.
Example:
Traffic accident a fuel truck lost control while speeding on the Mangunraharjo road,
Surabaya and suffered serious accident. The truck crashed a motorcycle that came from
the opposite direction and burned. A pedestrian who saw the incident said that the fuel
truck was seen speeding then all of sudden swerved and hit a motorcyclist who came
from the front on 1st December 2014.This incident made the motorcycle rider was
killed instantly after being hit by the truck while the truck driver suffered serious
injuries to the chest and head. 30 minutes after the incident, the police came to
investigate the Accident. After doing investigation, they found the cause that the driver
was sleepy when driving the truck. In addition to the brake that didn’t work, so he
couldn’t control his truck and hit the victim. The current truck driver had been taken to
Doa Ibu hospital to be treated.

• Imaginative recount
Writing an imaginary role and giving details of events, eg. A day in the life of a pirate;
How I invented...
Example:
I was dreaming of being super hero when I was a teenager. I imagined myself as
Spiderman.One day, when I was fishing at the river I was bitten by a spider and luckily
I was not dying. At first I felt cold for 24 hours and I was alone in my room. Nobody
knew about it. I didn’t tell my family because I was affraid they would angry with me.
After that, something had happened in my body and I still did not recognize it. I lived
as I did usually, went to school, go home, eating, doing some activities and so on. I
realized at the first time that I had a super power was when I was getting an accident. I
rode a motor cycle and suddenly there was a bus crashed me. I bounced out of the road
and my motor cycle was totally broken. But at that case, I did not feel any hurt. There
was no blood out of my body. I was angry at that time because the bus did not stop and
escaped. I run after it and I didn’t know why I could run so fast and jump so high. I
jumped to the back of the bus and climbed it like a spider. I went to the front, stooped
the bus and took the driver out of the bus door. I knew that I was no more normal human
being. I did nothing more to the bus driver. I went back home and decided the next
action to do after that.
I did nothing like the Spiderman at the movie that help people to catch the criminals. I
was an opportunist super hero. I was afraid of killing people so that I hide my power
from anybody else. I used my power only when I or my family and friends got into
dangerous.

5. Generic Structure of Recount text


o Orientation :
It gives the readers the background information needed to understand the text,
such as who was involved, where it happened, and when it happened.
o Events :
A series of events, ordered in a chronological sequence.
o Re-orientation :
A personal comment about the event or what happened in the end.
6. Language Features of Recount Text
✓ Using the simple past tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past
perfect continuous tense.
✓ Using temporal sequence, e.g. On Saturday. On Monday, On Sunday
✓ Focus on specific participant, e.g. I (the writer)
✓ Using the conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc.
✓ Using action verd, e.g. went, stayed
7. Recount Text
My Holiday In Bandung
Orientation
Last year, I went to Bandung. I spent my holiday there. I went to bandung by train.
The train schedule from Cirebon was at 08.00 AM and arrived in Bandung at 12.00
AM.

Events
In the first day, I went to Bandung zoo because I loved animals. The ticket price was
only Rp 25.000. The animlas there was very complete.

In the second day, I went to geological museum and talked with the guide about
geology. It made me understood about geology. I saw rocks collection at there. After
that, I went to Bandung train station because I had to go home to Cirebon.

Reorientation
My holiday in Bandung was only two days but It was a very interesting holiday.
